Question: How do you peel a hard boiled egg when the shell sticks to the white? Sometimes when making hardboiled eggs that skin stuff under the shell sticks to the white and makes it impossible to peel without destroying the white part. Is there a way to peel the egg without tearing it apart? And is there some trick to boiling the eggs so this doesn't happen?
Answer: After the eggs are boiled, drain the hot water and immediately add very cold water. That should separate the white portion of the eggs from the shell.
Question: How do you make sunburns peel faster? I got a bad sunburn this past weekend, and my forehead decided to peel earlier than everything else, and it looks hideous! This morning there was just a small part that had peeled, and now my entire forehead is just eeeew. Is there anything I can put on it to make it peel faster?
Answer: Don't put vaseline on anything especially your face it's 100% pure petroleum
Use a gentle wash cloth to exfoliate it off -
try doing this when you wash your face -
and then add a pure and natural moisturizer (no mineral oils)
Aloe is great - but it soothing -
get the dead skin off.
Question: What type of peel is best for hyperpigmented clear young skin? My face got really dark last summer and it didn't really lighten over the winter. Now I have an unevenly dark face and i'm light from the neck down. I don't want to tan my body.

Question: What is the fastest way to peel an orange? I'm making fresh OJ in a juicer and need to peel a lot of oranges. I suck at peeling oranges. What is the fastest method to get the peel off?
Answer: Hiya Mediocre Deity!
Cut across a small area of the top and bottom off to make flat spots.
Place orange on it's bottom flat spot and using a sharp thin bladed knife, begin to cut down the profile of the orange curving as you cut just under the pith [white stuff] of the orange to the bottom.
Try to stay just outside of the pith because it is bitter and is nasty tasting when it gets into the juice. With practice, you can peel bunches of oranges in just a few minutes. Be careful not to cut yourself while doing this, always rest the knife against the flesh of the orange follow the curve of the orange's body. I hope this helped, and good luck.
A Deity peeling oranges for juice, how interesting.
Question: How does your skin peel after a sun burn? I don't know how to phrase this question, but simply how does your skin peel. I know that Ultraviolet radiation damages the skin cells's DNA, and then repairs itself using enzymes.
But what is the process and how does the skin peel?
Answer: The biggest reason skin peels is because once it is burned, it no longer has any moisture and it simply dies.
Question: What is a chemical peel and should i get one? Well im trying to get rid or at least improve the appearance of my old acne "lumps/bumps" and some scars. What i want is to make my skin look softer and smoother so when i looked stuff up 'chemical peel' kept coming up. What is exactly is a chemical peel and were can i get one?
Answer: A chemical peel is just what it sounds like, they take a chemical (typically golcolic acid I believe) put it on your skin causing a minor burn and then it peels off revealing fresh younger looking skin. However, if you've been on ANY acne meds you need to be careful, some of them have wait periods after stopping use before you can do something like this (for example, if you were on accutane you need to wait a minimum of 6 months after your LAST dose) if you don't wait long enough you have have serious scarring occur. As to where to get them you have options, there are home versions, usually not very good, for safety reasons they simply don't have enough of the acids to do very much, good for a little pick me up but not for serious scar removal. Some spas or medi-spas will have them but they can get a little pricey but they are typically stronger and will do more good. The best place is usually a dermatologist, but you could pay upwards of $300 per treatment (and you'd probably need more than one). Also, except for the home versions, these have 'down time' i.e. you look like a sunburned monster from hell, then peel horrifically, usually it can take 1-2 weeks before you look normal again and they can be bit painful.

Question: Can I peel potatoes now and keep them in the fridge until I start to cook dinner? Would I be able to peel the potatoes now and keep them in the fridge under water w/o them getting brown? Any ideas?
it will be 2 1/2 hours.
Answer: keep them in water....they don't have to go in the fridge if it's only for a couple hours
putting potatoes in the fridge or keeping them too cool can actually develop the sugar in them and make them sweet...in cooking school we only kept them in there for the day/overnight
Question: Can you peel a sweet potato and then microwave it? If not, what is the best way to peel one after it's been microwaved?
Looking for a fast sweet potato side dish that does not involve a lot of sugar or marshmallows. Thanks!
Answer: We just poke holes in them and bake them whole, like regular potatoes. Then "fluff" them up and put butter in them. Or, you can take them out of the shell after they're baked and mash them with butter & salt (a little brown sugar, if you want too)

Question: Why are some citrus fruits easy to peel and others aren't? Like in the supermarket they have "easy peel satsumas" and other citrus fruits like mandarins or clementines are sometimes difficult to peel. Do they genetically modify it to make it "easy peel" or what?
Answer: no it is not genetically modified. It is just the way the skin is attached relative the center of the fruit.
Question: Can I peel and cut my potatoes in preparation for tomorrow? How should they be stored in the fridge? I want to have this done in advance but I noticed that they tend to turn a darker color once you peel and cut them. Is there a way to store so that they dont turn colors?
Thank you for the response, I thought leaving them in water also but wasnt sure.
Answer: I do it every year. Peel them cut them and put them in a pot of cold water. Store the pot or bowl covered with potatoes in the fridge or cold anyplace like basement , porch till tomorrow. Rinse off water and cook.
I also cook them early mash them and put them in a microwave safe
bowl covered and heat them up just before dinner. Saves even more time. Happy Turkey Day
Question: How do you remove orange peel texture that was put on with machine from professionals? It is cracking and needs to be removed. The ceiling is not drywall. It is the plaster ceilings from the past. They took off the popcorn and they sprayed on the orange peel texture. Only been 3 years it is cracking in alot of different spots on the ceiling. How can this orange peel be removed? Can these type of ceilings have texture applied to them?. Don't think they did it right and I am afraid of having someone do the same thing again.
Answer: the problem w/ ur cracking is not the "Orange peel," that is only a term for the pattern the layer is basically just thinner sheet rock mud, u r getting cracking from the cracks in the substrate, ( wall, ceiling) the best way to deal w/ this is to sang down the "orange peel" to the bare sheetrock, then find the cracks and tape and mud them, also u need to find the cause of cracking, most of the times its in older homes due to the shifting of the house, however it can be caused by insufficient bracing on the frame, or a poor job of the tape and mud process on the seams of the sheetrock, the best way to fix them is by taping and mudding them again, or u can use a heady duty caulk to to fill the cracks and texture over them again,b4 u go hire someone go to home depot and take the sheetrock class for free or buy the home book from them, either way u can do it urself or know what to look for when u hire someone
Question: How do you peel a hard boiled egg? Every time I peel a hard boiled egg the shell always takes off a layer of the egg white, what am I doing wrong?
Answer: While the eggs are still hot, drain them and fill the pot with COLD water. Then roll them around gently in the pan, so the shells crack. Drain them again and peel them. This helps shrink the shell away from the egg, and they come off cleaner.
