Question: How do television advertisements influence peer pressure on teenagers? How do television advertisements have a influence on peer pressure on teenagers?
I am doing a college english thesis paper on How advertisements has a hige peer pressure effect in fluence on teenagers.
Any suggestions???
I want to know anything!!
The more info i get, the more i want to choose YOUR answer!
Answer: Basically, television has become the everyday entertainment and activity for most teenagers today. While a teen watches a advertisement showing a product or act etc. they become more likely to cave to peer pressure or even cause it. What looks like the "norm" thing to do on TV has most teens wanting to fit that "norm". Its more thought of as a psychological affect on a teenagers mind, which in turn is what peer pressure can be fueled by.
Question: How is the experience of peer pressure different between males and females? I need to write a report on male patterns of peer pressure vs. female patterns of peer pressure. The more information the better! Website links to various articles would be very helpful!
Answer: I think they're the same, just that one is female oriented and the other is male.
Question: What might be the consequences of peer to peer sharing to peer to peer participants? Because of torrents and Usenet, what will happen to peer to peer users?
Please keep in mind that in Canada, Peer to Peer sharing is legal. Would there be any other consequences to them?
Answer: First note that P2P is legal. I use P2P every few months to download new versions of Linux, which is free. That would be an example of ligament use.
Piracy over P2P is illegal. This can cause jail time and and fines of up to $10,000 USD per offense in the US. Also it may lead to virus infestation spreading if you get your files from an unknown source. If it grows to much P2P file-sharing can actually lead to the software/media that is being stolen to no longer be produced. If a record label doesn't see high enough sales, they'll let the band go. Piracy is a big flag that says people want it, but not badly enough to pay for it.

Question: What is the difference between a bittorrent peer and a bittorrent seeder? I have bittorrent and always have heaps of peers but no seeders and so nothing downloads Why? is there a difference between a bittorrent peer and a bittorrent seeder?
Answer: A seed has 100% of the content and is only uploading to peers.
Peers have less than 100% and are downloading from seeds and other peers and uploading to other peers.
The situation you describe is usually due to the network connection not being opened properly. You can send out (which is why you connect to peers), but probably cannot receive incoming connections (which is why the seeds would not connect).
If your network status is showing green, then I do not know why. But if it is red or yellow, that would be the reason.
If you have the latest version of BitTorrent, then you can use this guide to setting uTorrent up for best speeds as they are identical clients. The guide has info on clearing network status and other info to help speed downloads:

Question: When a Hereditary Peer in the House of Lords Renounces Title, Who Replaces Him? When a Hereditary Peer in the House of Lords Renounces Title, Who Replaces Him?
Who appoints life peers?
Are any of the peers in the house of lords elected?
Answer: There are 92 hereditary peers who sit in the House of Lords, of whom 90 are elected (by a process which I'll come to in a moment). The other 2 are the Earl Marshall and the Lord Great Chamberlain, and if either of them were to renounce their title then I believe that they would be replaced by the successor to their hereditary title (currently the Duke of Norfolk and the Marquess of Cholmondesley respectively). If one of the other 90 hereditary peers renounced their title then there would be a by-election to choose a successor from the relevant group of hereditary peers.
Life peers are appointed by the Sovereign, who acts on the advice of the Prime Minister (although by convention the Prime Minister allows the leaders of the other parties to nominate candidates in order to maintain a balance between parties).
As mentioned above, 90 of the peers are elected by the hereditary peers as a whole, 15 by all hereditary peers, and the remainder according to party groupings.

Question: How often do researchers from peer-review journals let others see their original data sets? I'm curious because I want to play around with data for fun on some statistics software I'm teaching myself, plus I want to create equations to describe/predict things that I find interesting in peer-review journals.
How often do they let others see their original data sets?
Answer: I can only speak for social sciences, as that is area I'm in, but I bet other sciences are the same. Letting others see your data is part of the peer-review process. Usually a journal article will list contact information for the corresponding author. You can write them and ask them for data sets, scales, and things of that sort. Generally they are willing to share the details of their published information with others in the academic world. In the unlikely event that they refuse to share information with you, it is probably because they are still working with it and don't want you to swoop them on publishing something (research can be very competitive) or because it was proprietary research for a customer (not usually the case in peer-reviewed journals).
Question: How to disable the fire wall that blocks torrent and p2p peer to peer downloads? Ok here's the problem. I live in a college dorm and the IT office here does not allow peer 2 peer downloads. I can't even download torrent files in my dorm room. I tried an older version of BitTorrent last year which surprisingly worked, but this year, nothing works. Nil. Any help. Any cracks available that can help me break through this firewall?
Answer: that's the reason why they put firewall because of the people such as you who are disobedient to the rules of the dorm. lol if you don't want to be caught and be expelled, to study your subjects is the most important thing to do than digging on how to break the firewall.
Question: How to set up a peer to peer network in Windows Vista? How do you set up a peer to peer network in windows vista for 4 computers using a hub. Can you also list the supplies needed.
Answer: Needed:
Router
Cables connecting computers (unless you have wireless enabled)
[For each computer]
Start-->Network-->Network and Sharing Center
Enable File Sharing, etc.
Every computer connects to this one router, so it's on the same network already.
To access a computer:
Start-->Network
It'll show a list of all your computers - log in with your username/password on that computer.

Question: What are the negative impacts of adult interference for peer mediation? I am doing an assignment for a class about peer mediation. I am having a hard time trying to answer the question. It asks, "What are the negative impact of adult interference in peer mediation?"
So far I have answered:
-teacher interrupts the conversations between the mediators and students who are involved with the problem
-teacher may not let the students solve their own problem.
Does anyone else have any ideas that could help me? Thanks
Answer: One thing is that a student might not be comfortable sharing information with a teacher, but is with a fellow classmate or friend. If he or she doesn't open up completely, he or she may not be able to be helped as much.
Also, the teacher may think lower of the student or treat him or her differently after learning about a situation. It is not fair for a student to be treated badly because of a problem in his or her life.
Finally, a student may have a problem with that teacher or another teacher, and would not want the teacher to know for fear of the teacher finding out.

Question: How difficult is it to switch from a peer to peer to a server client? I have to switch my company's computers from the current 5 computer peer to peer to a server client network.
Once I transfer the programs and data over to ther server, how difficult is it to set up the 5 computers on the server? I mean, will I have to reinstall windows xp and erase everything on each workstation - basically starting from scratch? Or is there another way to do it?
Answer: You can set up file/share redirect in Active Directory and merge them all but this isn't very efficient. Starting from scratch is the most advised.
