Purchase Of Vitamins
Question: What are the best vitamins for improving skin, hair, & boosting immunity? i'm backpacking across Europe this summer and i'm looking to purchase vitamins that will improve and protect my skin and hair, as well as boost my immunity while traveling. i used to use Olay vitamins plus separate supplements, like Biotin, but i am looking for something more with a larger range of health benefits. i also ideally would like them in little plastic packages for my travel convenience.
please help! i'm open to all suggestions.
Answer: Try Cod Liver Oil pills (for your hair and skin) , sounds gross but you can't taste it in capsule form.
Also, Take Ecinecha for immunity.
Question: Where can I purchase vitamin and health products by Berkley & Jensen? This is a box labeled Energy Health Packs with packs of different vitamins and minerals for men and another for women? I keep coming up with a BJ's Wholsale Club, but not getting any farther. I can purchase online if not local.
Answer: Berkley and Jensen is a BJ's Wholesale Club name brand, and I do believe that is the only place that carries them.

Question: What is a good site to buy vitamins online in Canada?(B5)? I have been trying to find some vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) in town, but I live in a semi small town and I can't seem to find it anywhere. What are some good/safe online websites to purchase vitamins from that operate out of Canada?

Question: Has anybody purchased Vitamins from Puritan's Pride? How do you think of their quality ?
Answer: I can't really tell the difference in vitamins. I mean, i don't know if I'm supposed to feel something or not. Can't tell you. But I do love their prices.
Question: After gastric bypass surgery, is it true that a person has to take $150 vitamins? I'm with Kaiser in Los Angeles, and am in process of preparing for gastric bypass. However, someone told me that after the surgery, a person has to buy these special vitamins that are expensive. Is this true? A multi-vitamin purchased at the drug store wouldn't suffice? $150 is a heafty price for vitamins, even post bypass.
Any information is greatly appreciated!
(For anyone trying to talk me out of it, save it.)
Answer: I spend 20 on Balanced Essentials Liquid Vitamins (vitamin world at the mall) , 6 on NatureMade Iron (from walmart, you'll only need this if you still get your period) 7 on chewable b12 (from cvs) and 7 on LifeTime Liquid Calcium Magnesium Citrate from Vitamin world (you want to always make sure you get a calcium with Magnesium in it because it will make you constipated with out it)
You'll always want to shop around for everything, it'll save you money in the long run. I used to get my stuff from a gastric bypass site and it did cost me about 150 a month but soon found out you can get everything you need at drug stores and walmart. The two things I listed from vitamin world, I highly recommend them. If you go into one, they will try to tell you that you need a whole bunch of other pills and stuff or more expensive ones, they are not needed and they are just a waste of money.
If you live near a trader joes, they have a lot of what you need for almost nothing.
Question: anyone knows where can I purchase Vitamin D without peanut oil or fish oil, preferably vegetable based? I am searching for a good reliable supplier of Vitamin D without peanut, soya, or fish oil?
Answer: GNC stores
Question: does anyone know of any health drink that I could purchase, vitamin and mineral drink, etc? that would give me some energy....I don't want to start taking alot of pills or vitamins that may or may not work..."experimenting" so to speak. I am an older woman closing in on 50 and just have that run down feeling a great deal of the time. I was just wondering what kind of energy drink..."healthy"... no caffine....that people were drinking...I need to walk up again...lol
Answer: You should know that most energy drinks on the market have very high amounts of sugar and caffeine contained in them. You seem to be concerned about your health and the effects that some of the things on the market could have on you.
If you are concerned about your health, you may want to consider an alternative. I drink an energy drink that does not contain all of the sugar and caffeine, works in 10-15 minutes after drinking it, lasts for several hours, makes me feel really good, and I have much better mental alertness. I have been drinking these drinks daily for several months, and I feel better now than I have in the last 10 years.
You can find them at carlshealthhelp.com/energy
Question: Vitamins - is there any difference?? I've heard some vitamins are significantly higher in quality than others. For example, GNC claims not all vitamins are up to their standards. Does anyone know if there is truly any difference between the vitamins you buy at a health food store, GNC or a reputable retailer, assuming you're purchasing vitamins of the same dosage? What's your source of information?
Answer: the big secret about vitamins is that your body can only absorb so much at a time. The rest just gets peed out. I used to buy some megavitamins at GNC and I swear that my pee was neon gold. The vitamin might have more of what you want but don't plan on your body using it.
Question: I am looking for an on-line store where I can purchase Vitamin D. Problem is, I need 50,000 mg per dose.? Does anyone have any ideas of where I can look? I have been doing searches, but only come up with information on what Vitamin D is for...no stores on line or otherwise carry this high dosage.
My mom (70 yrs old) is being instructed she is to take 1 dose 1 time per week for 8 weeks. Apparently she has a large deficiency per recent bloodwork, and many issues that may be due to this lack of vitamin. Her mother had osteoperosis badly, as did her oldest sister. However, my mom's density tests are with the low normal, but she does have other issues that may be a result of the recent deficiency finding.
Answer: It's extremely unlikely for a drug store to carry such a high dosage unless it prescribed by your doctor. I think you may have to settle on buying a lower dosage pill and taking more than one of them.
Question: Can anyone out there tell me how much they are paying for membership at a health club in South Central Texas? I really hate it when I walk in a health club and say I want to join, but you have to go thru this sales pitch and pressure of hiring a personal trainer and purchasing vitamins/supplements for a whole lot of money. They don't tell you up front what a basic membership is, you have to listen to this whole presentation first, and if you don't buy into their sales pitch, you get treated like a second class citizen.
Plain and simple, I just want to join a gym, use the equipment and attend some of the classes.
Someone out there please tell me how much do you pay per year for basic membership and where. Are there other start-up fees to pay as well? I just want to have an idea before I walk in there.
And if anyone knows of a certain gym where you don't get all this pressure to hire personal trainers and vitamin supplements, please let me know the name.
Thanks.
Answer: Well I am in East TX. but I went to Curves for women. I loved it. No real pressur that I got and I think it was like $75 and $35 a month and then the classes were like$10 extra a month for once a week. The only thing thay do is show you how each machine works and let you go. And you went when you wanted. I really liked it becaus it was just for chicks.
Question: What should I take with Hoodia in addition to diet and exercise? I exercise at the gym about 2-3 times per week, for an hour each visit. I also purchased Hoodia 500mg yesterday to suppress my appetite, because lately I've always been hungry. I also bought Metabo-Drene, which is a metabolic enhancer, but now I'm regretting buying it, because I'm nervous about taking it (because of the caffeine). I was torn between Tonalin CLA, Stacker 3, and what I purchased (Vitamin Shoppe brand) Metabo-Drene. I eat correctly, but I'm a college student, so sometimes I slip up. Therefore, I'm trying to shed the 10 pounds I've gained since I began school, so I can get back on the right track at the right weight. As far as the Hoodia experience goes, I don't feel like it's working. I took one an hour before dinner yesterday, and I didn't get the full sensation, even after finishing my meal. Can I take 2 Hoodia's instead of 1? What should I take in addition to the Hoodia to get rid of this excess weight? Anyone recommend Tonalin??
Answer: Ok first off, stop taking the Metabo-Drene. It does not work at all. As for the hoodia I have read reviews saying it does and reviews saying it doesnt. I think a lot of it is kinda mind over matter. Like if you take it you will make yourself THINK its not hungry because yours taking this pill. Dont waste your tiem with the Tonalin either.
Diet pills do not work. The only thing that does is good old fashioned diet and exercise.
If you want to lose weight and not feel hungry do this. Eat 5 small meals a day:
Breakfast- Cereal, oatmeal or 2 eggs.
Snack- Fruit or yogurt
Lunch- Salad with not a lot of dressing
Snack- Veggies or granola bar
Dinner- Chicken with veggies
Drink a lot of water or other liquids without calories or very fw calories like crystal light. This will help you feel full as well.
This works. The reason is because your body gets used to being fed every few hours and does not store the food your eating, knowing it will get fed again soon. AS long as the meals and snakcs your eating are healthy decisions and your working out you will have no problem losing the 10 lbs you want to lose.
Question: do anybody know of any vitamins to help gain weight? do anybody know of any vitamins to help gain weight and if so where can i purchase this vitamins

Question: Should I use Vitamin E oil or a Vitamin E capsule? I purchased Vitamin E oil from Walmart. But i am not sure if I should be using The Vitamin E capsule or it is one and the same thing.
Because when i read the label,it contains Vitamin E 12000 units and Soy oil and Coconut Oil.
Some ppl were saying they would break a capsule in half and add it to the cream. But when i went to the store in the vitamins section there I found this small bottle of Vitamin E oil....are both the same things?
Answer: Personally, I wouldn't buy any vitamin from Walmart. You can't go cheap when it comes to nutrition. Who knows how long that stuff has been on the shelf...and don't think it doesn't matter.
Next, you want liquid, organic, wholefood vitamins. Most vitamins are not wholefood. That is why they are so cheap!! Synthetic stuff isn't what you want to put in your system because your body recognizes food! Not junk.
Take your vitamin E this way, and add to it all the other antioxidants you need http://newenglandnutritives.com/ultra_antioxidant.htm
If not, then you'll want to stick with a softgel that is all natural vitamin E. If the bottle doesn't say "all natural vitamin E," then I assure you, it isn't! That's a selling point no company would omit from the label. You'll pay more for it, but isn't it worth it? And again, I wouldn't buy vitamins from Walmart. If my thinking is right, they purchase items in such large quantities, when it comes to vitamins, they are far from fresh and potent...that is just my opinion as a consumer.
Question: Is there a Better Business Bureau to determine if a web site is legit? I am wanting to purchase some vitamins on the net, (do a lot of shopping there). Was wondering is there is anyplace to check out a company?
