Question: A good grilled shrimp recipe? I am from NY and too cold to be outside to grill.? When we go out to dinner, my family always gets grilled shrimp. I need a good indoor recipe for shrimp that can somewhat resemble grilled shrimp. I personally am not a seafood eater, so it needs to be a very simple but delicious recipe.
Answer: Sweetie,if your family and yourself are a fan of grilled food.Consider investing in a grill pan(I will include a link to a picture below). They come in all shapes and sizes, and allow for the flavor inside rather than outside especially in the colder months. Also,to get that "Smokey" flavor you can add a touch of liquid smoke to your recipe. When i say a drop,i mean literally a drop as it is very strong. That along with a grill pan will give you a wonderfully grilled flavor.Once you invest in a grill pan,you will never want to cook in a skillet again. It is a well worth the money investment. It will pay for itself repeatedly.Consider the liquid smoke, you can purchase a bottle in your local grocery store. However,it should be used in moderation. When marinating an item then add one-two drops to the marinade. It will allow for the flavor in the background without overpowering the dish.Good luck hun,and have a good day!!

They had the recipe printed for handouts but he didn't take one, has regretted it ever since.
Answer: We call shrimps prawns in Australia. A shrimp here is something about the size of half of your little finger.

Question: What is a good Chinese coral shrimp recipe? Like when you go to a Chinese buffet, they either have coral shrimp or coral chicken.
I researched a recipe for it and found nothing.
Does anyone know a recipe for it, or what gives it that original flavor?
Answer: You do not eat coral shrimp.
The Coral Banded Shrimp is a very popular invertebrate that is kept in many marine aquariums. They are usually found in small crevices or hanging from live rock in the aquarium. Most of their time is spent in hiding and you won't see them walking around very often. It is important to make sure they are getting their share of food around feeding time. This may mean that you have to use a feeding stick and place the food directly in front of them so they can grab it. It's probably not a good choice for reef aquariums because they have a tendency to pinch at corals and anemones looking for food.
If your shrimp loses one of its arms or claws, don't worry. They will regenerate it the next time they molt. Iodine supplements may need to be added to your tank water.
The Coral Banded Shrimp is usually lumped in with the other cleaner shrimps but this behavior is not often seen in the home aquarium. Many hobbyists have noted that they have never seen this shrimp clean fishes.
These shrimps are usually very hardy if they have been acclimated slowly. It's recommended to acclimate them to your aquarium water over a period of an hour or more to avoid pH shock. Also, carefully read any medications before using them in a tank with invertebrates. Many fish medicines will kill your invertebrat
Question: What is a really good beer-battered shrimp recipe? I'd like a really good beer-battered shrimp recipe or just a good ol beer batter in general. Something that is pretty simple and easy. Thanks
Answer: 1 12 oz can light beer
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon paprika
16 to 20 medium shrimp
juice of 2 lemons
salt
fresh ground pepper
Worcester sauce
1 cup flour
oil -- for deep-frying
Pour the beer into a large bowl. Sift the flour, salt, and paprika into the beer, whisking until the batter is light and frothy. (The batter may be used immediately or stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 week, but be sure to whisk it occasionally).
Remove the shells from the shrimp, leaving the tails intact. Wash and remove the black line running down the center if you wish (for aesthetic reasons only). Dry the shrimp and sprinkle with lemon juice, salt, pepper and a few drops of Worcestershire.
Heat at least 2 inches of oil in a frying kettle or electric fryer. Just before it reaches 375F, quickly dredge the shrimp with flour, shaking of excess then dip in the beer batter, coating well, and drop them into the hot fat (do this in 2 batches). When they are brown on one side -- less than 1 minute -- turn and brown them on the other side. Drain on paper towels. Serve hot with lemon wedges and Watermelon pickles, if you wish

Question: Shrimp recipe to go with macaroni and cheese? I'm making homemade mac and cheese tonight [not from easy mac.. yuch] and I need a shrimp recipe to go with it. Not IN the mac and cheese - but a separate complimentary dish.
Thanks!
Answer: Sauteed Shrimp. Simple yet VERY delicious.
You get your saute pan. Add a couple table spoons of butter, and also the same of olive oil. You then add 3 cloves of minces garlic and 2 minced shallots (or red onions whichever you prefer). Then you get some flat leaf parsley (a quarter cup chopped) and fresh thyme (7 sprigs). Add the thyme. BTW the pan shouldn't be on high maybe medium. Then you add the fresh or defrosted drained shrimp. You can add the juice of 1 or 2 lemon depending on the juiciness and how you like your seafood. Then I add about a teaspoon of brown sugar. Stir in parsley and then you will have a good dish.
Question: Do you have a really yummy special shrimp recipe? I want to make a very special meal for a shrimp lover. There are soooo many recipes when I google, so I wold like personal recomendations.
Something maybe tropical or asian would be great!! I'm a pretty competent cook and have access to most ingredients from nearby stores.
Thanks :)
Answer: Hey there!
I make many recipes with Shrimp, but the easier ones would be an Indian dish and an East Asian dish.
Shrimp Curry:
2 lbs. Shelled, Uncooked Shrimp (any kind you prefer)
1 Can of Coconut Milk
1 tbsp Mustard Seeds
2 Jalapeños
3 tbsp Canola/Cooking Oil
1 Large Onion
3 Cloves of Garlic
1 tsp Ginger
2 tsp Tumeric
2 tsp Curry Powder
1 tsp Cumin
Salt to Taste (about 1-3 tsp depending on your preference, or use fish sauce)
In a large pot, heat oil and add mustard seeds (seeds will pop so cover the pot). Quickly add chopped onions before mustard seeds burn. Slice Jalapeño in thin, long strips and throw into pot. Mix well and sauté onions till golden brown, add minced/crushed garlic and crushed ginger. Mix, then add all spices (tumeric, curry powder, cumin) and stir around for 1-2 minutes. Add coconut milk and mix well, allow coconut to simmer. Add shrimp and let cook (shrimp will curl and turn pink when cooked). Add salt or fish sauce a little at a time starting with 1 tsp and working up till it suits your taste. Serve over rice.
Sweet & Sour Shrimp (Great with Chicken!):
2 lbs Shelled, Uncooked Shrimp
5 tbsp Sweet and Sour Sauce (refer to photo below)
2 tsp Salt
2 tsp Black Pepper
2 tbsp Canola/Cooking Oil
In a large bowl, mix shrimp, sweet and sour sauce, salt and pepper. Add oil in a large saucepan on High heat. When oil is hot, add shrimp (try to avoid the excess sauce on the bottom of the bowl) and let cook for a while until sauce drys out. The sauce will caramelize with the shrimp. Add chopped chives on top and serve with rice.
Hope I helped! If you are interested in other recipes, let me know =]

Answer: Sounds like sweet sour shrimp to me. This recipe involves sauteeing.
GRILLED SHRIMP WITH PROPER SWEET AND SOUR CHILLI SAUCE:
700g jumbo shrimp, head trimmed, split open and deveined (you can ask your fishmonger to do this for you if you aren't so nifty with a knife)
large pinch each of salt and white pepper
fresh chopped basil, mint or coriander to garnish
SAUCE:
1 tbsp peanut oil
5 cloves finely minced garlic
3 birdseye chillies, sliced thinly (use regular ones if you cannot take the intense heat)
small bunch of coriander roots and stems, washed well and chopped finely
3 tbsp white rice vinegar
1 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp chopped coconut/palm sugar
2 tbsp fish sauce
zest and juice of a large lime
1/2 cup chicken stock (made from a stock cube is fine...crumble 1/4 cube in 1/2 cup hot water)
HOW:
Heat up the oil in a pan for the sauce. Saute the garlic, chillies and coriander roots till softened and golden...about 1 minute. Add the sugars to caramelise. Then add the liquids and the zest...simmer for 5 minutes or till thickened. Let cool in a serving bowl.
Toss the shrimp with the salt and pepper...grill or broil till done...about 8 to 10 minutes depending on the strength of your broiler. On a BBQ is good too.
Serve with the sauce, and plenty of chopped herbs strewn over.

Question: wat is the best chinese shrimp recipe and where can i find it.? I am looking for a fast recipe for fried shrimp, prefferably hibachi.
Answer: well you pretty much limited the recipes since you requested Hibachi style. High heat, flat cooking surface. Use a ginger, soy, plum wine and oil mixture to fry your shrimp in...again high heat until the flesh just turns pink.
If you're looking for the "traditional shrimp sauce" to go with it...
1 cup mayonnaise
3 tablespoons white sugar
3 tablespoons rice vinegar
2 tablespoons melted butter
3/4 teaspoon paprika
3/8 teaspoon garlic powder
Mix well and refrigerate.
