Question: Can I take both Acai supplements and Super B Complex? I started taking Acai because I heard it was great for your metabolism and full of antioxidants. Then a friend at work told me Super B Complex also helps your metabolism and provides you with energy as well. Can I take both of these supplements at the same time or will that be too much for my metabolism?
Answer: I have been through it all and know what's it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can't be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I've worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.
Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.
First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can't eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising...
This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it's good for the heart.
However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It's so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I've found a great addition to help any one out, it's a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don't get all crazy on me and say diet pills don't work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn't meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It's an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. For me it's the best pill I've tried and I've tried cupboards full. Free radicals have their role to play in good health but too much of a good thing can be bad for you, just like anything else. :-) That's where a balance of antioxidants comes in handy.

Question: can a large vitamin intake harm you? Im 6'2" and im just wondering if consuming too many vitamins at the same time be bad for me in the long run? everytime i excerise or go for a quick jog i make a stop at jamba and order a power juice with 5 different boosts: fiber, immunity, 3g charger, daily vitamins, and super antioxidant. and ocasionally protein. is this a bad diet?

Best sources of natural antioxidants
Usually you can judge how much antioxidants a particular fruit or vegetable has by its color. Brighter the color, more useful vitamins you will get from eating it. nuts (healthy fats, many healthy properties)
carrot bites (rich in antioxidants and vitamins)
prunes (antioxidants and fiber, plus they help keep the pipes clean)
I know you said fruits and veggies but:
sardines, salmon, albacore (rich in omega 3 fatty acids, fish oil, protein, low calorie)
oysters (high zinc content)
beef (packed with vitamins and minerals, but higher in cholesterol so eat in moderation)

Examples- spinach, dinosaur kale, chard
Apricots, avocadoes, mangoes- all very healthy (they're high in something-I just know to eat up. Plus, they're delicious)

Sardines- high in omegas, high in calcium (very important for ladies)
Yogurt- Acidophilus- helps maintain healthy digestive tract
Jalepenos- Vitamin C and capsacin (good to ward off ulcers but bad if you have one)
Olive Oil- good source of healthy fats (keeps you from craving bad fats and also helps with maintaining good ratio of fats)
Oh, and invest in some flax seed meal. It is the best way to absorb flax's omegas. You can sprinke it on yogurt, smoothies, etc.
A great morning meal, by the way:
1/2 cup frozen organic blueberries
1/2 cup frozen organic raspberries
1/2 banana
spoonfull local raw honey (available at co-ops)
soy milk
kefir or yogurt (scoop)
blend with a stick blender until drinkable consistency
Sprinkle flax seed meal on top
You get calcium, protein, antioxidants, omegas, etc. It is delicious.
If you can stomach this- try putting some blue green algae powder in (it is supposed to give you tons of energy)

Question: Vitamins! Am wondering if I'm over doing or missing out on something?!? A guy I knew for two weeks was a 69 year old man, He was in really good shape and took lots of vitamins @ day and nighttime, and even during the day I believe. From my perspective somebody who didnt take vitamins, I thought he was kinda crazy (nutcase), or just a real smart guy who knew what he was doing. He took alot of vitamins. I asked him what vitamins I should be taking. I'm a healthy young 21 year old who doesn't eat all I should do. I mean who can eat whats recommended? I can't eat veggies and good foods all day.
Long story short I asked him what I should be taking. I took his advice and went out and bought different vitamins. I've been taking them for about 13 days and I feel good.. my urine is really yellow sometimes. I thought thats either the excess vitamins or toxins being pee'd outta my body.

Answer: I am 63 and I use to take a lot of supplements but have learned that the best nutrition comes from eating the proper diet and that nothing can replace doing that.
Many synthetic vitamins are useless and some may even be harmful causing stress on your body and possibly contributing to inflammatory conditions instead of helping. Still most people who take vitamins and other supplements won't notice any ill effects. They are just wasting a lot of money.
Eating a high nutrient diet is the best and safest way to good health. Eat fruit for breakfast. Oatmeal is OK but limit grains consumed in a day. If eating fruit and vegetables during the day is not convenient at least keep an open mind and educate yourself on what you should be doing. Maybe you will find a way to make it work for you.

The only supplements you may need are Vitamin D and B12 [if you were to choose to go 100% vegetarian which is not necessary]. DHA is important too so stick with the fish oil but better yet would be an algae derived DHA because fish oils are known to be rancid.
Eat all the vegetables you can especially the dark green leafy ones and eat at least 4 pieces of fruit a day.
Question: Order of application of skin care products? As part of my evening skin care routine, I have to apply an antioxidant cream (Prevage), a retinol cream (RoC Multi-Correxion), and a lifting cream (Shiseido Bio-Performance Super Lifting Formula). In what order should I apply them? Thanks.
Answer: Prevage has to go under everything. It is a serum and serums go first because they absorb into the skin.
I wonder if you should be using RoC and Shiseido together, but they should go on top of Prevage. My guess would be to use them in the order that you listed them: first prevage, second RoC, third Shiseido.
