Supplement Regulating
Question: Does Canada regulate the supplement industry? I know in the U.S., the FDA has very few if any regulations on dietary supplements. Are supplements in Canada more strictly regulated? I am thinking of buying amino acid supplements, but I do not want to buy an American brand because they may contain contaminants.
Answer: nope, they don't.
Question: Can a fiber supplement like Benefiber or Fibersure be used for a 4 year old? Or are there certain fiber supplements that work better at regulating a preschool age child's bowels?
Answer: Sometimes a change in diet just isn't enough to help a constipated child. The only thing that worked for our daughter was Miralax. It's a powder that you can mix into water or juice. It dissolves quickly and there's no taste. It's over the counter. It was a life-saver for us. Good luck.

Question: What time of day is it best to take digestion supplement? I was recently diagnosed with a slight bit of colietis and so added a digestion supplement to take to regulate me, but it had no direction as to what time of day to take it, before meals or after, etc.
Answer: There are some digestion support's natural formulas that work great 20 minutes before meals, and others right after meal. All depends on what ingredients are we talking about here. For instance, products containing lipase, and other similar enzymes, work best taken right after meals. If you are dealing with bromelain or papainase, then take them before meals.
Good luck! :)

Question: Can Reliv help with regulating someones irregular menstrual cycle? Can Reliv (http://www.reliv.com/US/EN/Products.html) help regulate a females menstrual cycle? If so, which supplement is best to buy?
Answer: I own a health and nutrition business and have taught fitness.
There are numerous people who have reported using Reliv products and experienced success in regulating their cycles. Usually they will start on the basic nutrition to help pull their bodies into balance, and then with the help and council of people with experience with this problem, add in SoyEssentials. Consultation with people with experience and success with this is, I believe, essential to maximizing your results. I encourage you to get on the phone with them so they can help you directly with things like amounts to take and how often. Often what it says on the can to take can be more than you may need and a "less is more" approach may be more appropriate, so those phone consultations are important to you, to find that out.
When I was first told about Reliv, I was very concerned that it might be a scam and spent three months researching it before I would let my friend talk to me about it, as I was afraid he might be getting himself into something where he might get hurt. Here is what I found.
Reliv is a nutritional supplement which the body interprets as food - what they call optimal nutrition. It is in a powder form, but taken as a liquid, and 98% of it is absorbed directly into the bloodstream within just a few minutes minutes of ingestion when taken correctly. This company holds, I believe, 5 or 6 United States patents on their products, of the 13 that the US patent office has issued on food products in their entire history for all companies combined. Basically, the FDA says that in food supplements, only 30% of what they say on the bottle is in the product actually has to be in the product when sold, and of that, usually only 30% or less is actually absorbed into the body. With a US patent on the product however, that means that 100% of what they say is in the product actually has to be in the product - and you have the added benefit of 98% of that being delivered to the bloodstream within a very short period of time. Additionally, to have that patent, they have to prove that what they have is different and unique from anything else on the market, and they have to prove that it works - although the company itself makes no health claims, because the body is the miracle, and when you deliver optimal nutrition to the body, the body knows itself what to do with that nutrition.
Because of the way it has been developed, with a perfect balance, bioavailability and synergy, and because the body recognizes it as food, and not just as a "salad of vitmins" that someone put together, (or a "juice" it has a much better chance of giving the body it's best chance at optimal health. I am not trying to make health claims here - and the company makes no health claims - but when you put the right things into the body, the body knows what to do with it!
The Reliv company - a food science company - is a 22 year old company with an excellent business reputation, and which has never had a lawsuit. They produce high quality products, are listed on the NASDAQ, and have been recognized by major publications such as Fortune, Forbes, Business Week and Success From Home as one of the top 100 best run businesses, and one of the top 100 hot growth companies. They are sold in 15 countries.
I have taken this supplement for a while now with excellent results. Debilitating carpal tunnel and painful joint issues in my left hand have completely disappeared; my husband, who thought he was going to have ANOTHER surgery in his shoulder instead avoided having to have it and is now pain free; my 85 year old mother in law, who had severe arthritis in her hands, is also pain free and her cholesterol has come down 64 points in since November 2007. My son uses this product for his athletic training and has reported increased energy and stamina.
Interestingly enough, while vitamin supplements - even your children's Flinstone vitamins - all have health warnings on them, Reliv products are so safe that they carry no health warnings, are given even to babies in their bottles and in feeding tubes for people in the hospital with no adverse effects. There is nothing I have seen for kids safer nor more easily assimilated into their bodies than these products.
I've been trying various supplements for over 35 years, and have never seen anything that has given us the life changing results that these supplements have. If someone is talking to you about them, I hope you will give them your ear and let them connect you to some people who can share their testimonies with you. Doing so, by the way, is the best way you can investigate Reliv, because you are talking to real people, not just some recording or something written on a website, and so you can hear real experiences and ask questions directly from them.
We have been delighted with what these products have done for us and never want to be off them!
Question: I have Iregular periods. I have 4-5 a year. Does anyone know of a supplement I can take to regulate it? I'm 21 and I just got married in March. My husband and I want to have a baby within the next year. The only problem is that I have Irregular periods. I have about 4-5 a year. I did research and found out that this is common in some women. I am not on any kinds of medication or birthcontrol. And I'm not over weight. I weigh 95lbs.I'm not on any kind of diet and I don' t have an eating disorder. I've always been a really small person.I'm 5'3, could it be that I'm underweight?Does anyone know of a supplement or anything I can do or take to regulate my period? What do you think can be causing this? And most of all do you think I will be able to have a baby? I would really appreciate any answers ya'll have. Thanks
Answer: Have you been checked for PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)? It sounds like you're not ovulating. And yes, according to the Met Life idea height/weight chart, at 5'3", even someone who is small boned should weigh 111-124 lbs, so you are underweight.
In women with PCOS, the ovary doesn't make all of the hormones it needs for any of the eggs to fully mature. They may start to grow and accumulate fluid. But no one egg becomes large enough. Instead, some may remain as cysts. Since no egg matures or is released, ovulation does not occur and the hormone progesterone is not made. Without progesterone, a woman’s menstrual cycle is irregular or absent. Also, the cysts produce male hormones, which continue to prevent ovulation.
This may or may not apply to you, but it's worth getting checked out.
Question: Does vitamin B6 help with regulating your period and ovulating sooner to help with a short leutal phase? We have been TTC and i ovulated on day 25 in my cycle and normally have a period on day 28-32...can i change ovulation with B6 supplement?
Answer: You won't be changing ovulation, per se, but B6 in larger than normal (but not excessive) doses sometimes allows the body to better regulate the production of estrogen and progesterone, in turn regulating the luteal phase to a more normal length. You could try a dose of 100mcg daily, but anything much more than that without medical supervision is not suggested because of nerve damage.
Having said all of that, a vitamin is not very likely to fix a luteal phase of 3 days. It's supposed to be more like 14, so I'd ask your doctor if a progesterone supplement might not be a better way to go. It can make you VERY sleepy, so make sure you follow the directions on the packet :)
Question: Does anyone know of a supplement combination that has worked to balance hormones? I prefer not to be on birth control and I need to regulate my hormones for skin purposes. Birth control worked, but I got off of it. There are supplements at vitamin shops that are designed to balance hormones, can anyone recommend a good brand, or ANYTHING?
Answer: Seven+ is a relatively new product that is unknown and about to change the health and wellness industry. I have seen it change the quality of life for people who have Diabetes, High blood pressure, Chronic pain, Headaches, joint pains....It also contains Acai, Mangosteen, Seabuckthorn, Fucoidan, Pomegranate, Blueberry, Noni, Cultured water and more. It's a liquid vitamin so absorption is much higher, and it is loaded with anti oxidents, Omega 3,6,7 and 9 and has NO preservatives that would be harmful to you.I recommend you take it in the morning though because there are pure ingredients that will give you that boost you need. You can check it out at www.brolinforexfuze.iexfuze.net they offer a seven day challenge which is free so there is no risk. There are also a bunch of testimonials from pro athletes, coaches, and everyday folks. You should take the time to look.
Best regards. Cary
Question: Is a magnesium supplement ok to take? I have been having an irregular heartbeat for a little while now. My doctor prescribed Propranolol to regulate it and also slow my heart rate.
I have just been reading that a magnesium deficiency can cause this irregular heart rhyhm. If so, is it safe to take a supplement when I am on this particular medication. I also take Pravastatin as a preventative against high cholesterol and aspirins as a preventative against blood clots.
Answer: calcium and magnesium together exert a push/ pull action on the heart muscle which is related to a regular heart beat. Magnesium supplements are fine but should be balanced with a dose of calcium. The generally accepted ratio is twice as much calcium as magnesium. I also know that fish oil (EPA and DHA) naturally regulate the heartbeat so read up on this. A good site for natural remedies (like these) is iherb.com and follow links to their reference library section.
Question: Is There Any Supplement That Regulates Your Period? Is There Anything That Regulates A Womans Period That Is Natural That Doesnt Cause Side Effects???????????????
Answer: proper nutrition meaning more veggies.
Question: Can phosphatidylserine clear acne and lower stress/anxiety? I read that this supplement regulates cortisol (stress hormone) levels. Is that true? Can it help with stress and acne?
Answer: Generally things that regulate cortisol helps control your response to stress, not your actual stress. So you may feel less of the physical side effects of stress (acne, weight gain, etc) you probably will not be less stressed.
Whether it works or not it, all medicines have side effects and you should try to use natural methods first. You should look into lowering your stress by using stress management techniques such as the ones found here http://www.ehow.com/how_5156185_deal-stress.html. Once you lower your stress acne and other things caused by stress will start to heal themselves.

Question: Does anyone know a good way to supplement your income? I am 33 years old and currently on SSI for MS and the disability always leaves me short a couple hundred every month. I know there has to be someone out there who has suggestions. Please don't say EBay because that will soon be regulated over $600 per seller.
Answer: So much depends on your own abilities, and the limitations imposed by your disability. Many 'work from home' jobs are scams. Certainly ANY scheme that requires YOU to pay to join is a scam.
If you have telephone and written skills, you might want to do an online search for telecommuting jobs like help desk support.
