Question: tea..........? i want to start drinking tea but i hate the taste

ummmm...... the egyptians that built the pyramids were slaves, they didnt have a choice. I thought everyone knew that.
Answer: I just have normal tea, with one sugar and milk! :) I find all that minging fruit and herbal teas disgusting!!
Question: What is the difference between iced tea tea bags and hot tea tea bags? I want to buy tazo tea from Starbucks online, but they have different types for iced tea and hot tea. Its the same flavor, but one is for hot tea and the other one is for hot tea. What is the difference between the two tea bags?
Answer: I don't think that the bag material is different. Tazo is a brand of tea sold elsewhere as well as at Starbucks. If you really have to know, you could contact the company. But there is no need to have a different kind of bag. Many who brew tea for iced tea do so with hot water anyway. We saw a tea maker at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf the other day and it was designed to be used without a bag and with hot water.
Tea bag tea is generally of lower quality in comparison to whole leaf teas. Should you find yourself enjoying tea more, consider venturing into whole leaf teas. Some are really amazing.
Question: What tea would you serve at an afternoon tea baby shower? I'd like a variety of different teas for all tastes but I have no idea where to even start. We're in England so where can I get some loose leaf tea, I don't want to just stick a tea bag in a mug.
Answer: Funny, my mum & aunts just had a baby shower tea. And they used English breakfast, which I think is batty, but they never asked me.
I would pick teas that are fairly forgiving for water temperature & brewing times, because such events can get hectic. So try to avoid Darjeelings, which are quite finicky.
For the main tea, I would stick with Earl Grey. It's got a little floral lilt, it's easy to get, everybody knows it.
And for others, let's say:
-Ceylon Orange Pekoe
-Lapsang Souchong, a smoked tea with a distinctive aroma
-Keemun, the "burgundy of teas"
-Yunnan
-and then some herbal infusions-- chamomile, rooibos red tea, rose hips tea, etc etc
They'll all brew between 3-5 minutes in just about boiling water, so it'll be simple to pull off. If you introduce green & white teas, all of a sudden you have to use different water temperatures and brewing times, which turns into a headache. And all these teas easily take milk & sugar, so all's well on that front too.
They're all blacks, but they have different tastes & aromas. And all of these teas are pretty widely available. Twinings sells them loose in tins.
Question: What kind and brand of tea is your favorite? Lately, I've been trying to drink more tea than coffee. I found a chamomile tea at the dollar store that I like. It helps me to unwind in the evening. I bought a Celestial Seasonings (I think that is the brand) blueberry tea. I'm not sure how i like it yet. It is a different taste. What kind of tea do you like? Is all tea basically the same, or are more expensive brands better tasting and better ingredients? I like herbal tea versus the black tea.
Answer: If you are not too sure about the Celestial Seasonings Blueberry tea... try it iced. It is awesome! (I am referring to "Blueberry Breeze Green Tea")
Stash, and Tazo also make some great varieties of tea.
Question: What is the benefits of drinking black tea? Can someone tell me the health benefits of drinking black tea and also other teas that may have better health benefits over this particular tea? Is there any difference in where you buy tea over other tea manufacturers? Currently i drink Earl Gray Bigelow Tea if anyone knows about this tea company. I just want to buy from the healthiest tea producer. Thanks.
Answer: Ahmed tea is the one , Green tea is the best known drink that have a lot of benefits [antioxidants] and not one side effect
Question: How do oolong tea and white tea taste? I have never tasted oolong tea or white tea. I have only consumed green tea and black tea. Black tea tastes the best! But now i'm planning to switch to white tea because it has the most anti-oxidants (even more than green and black) and is the lest processed tea in comparison to black and green tea. Also oolong tea helps in weight loss (read it somewhere on internet). But I dont know how they taste. Are they similar to black tea in taste?
Answer: No they are not similar in taste. Oolong has a smooth floral note where as white tea has a very mild delicate and less acidic/bitter taste than black tea.
Question: I experience different tea brewing results with the same tea at work and home? I experience different tea brewing results with the same tea at work and home?
My tap water is soft and the water at work comes in one of those huge typical work environment jugs dispensed either cold or hot.
At home my tea will be darker and have more flavor, at work my tea will be lighter and have an acceptable amount of flavor.
What gives?
Answer: I think that the water at your work is not boiling hot, like it would be at home, the hotter it is the darker it will get, and so if it isnt dark enough it wont have that same flavor, it will taste like water mixed with tea.
Question: Can I replace tea leaves with tea bags in a recipe? I am making Chinese Tea eggs. The recipe calls for 2 tbsp black tea, but I only have black tea bags (Lipton). Can I replace the leaves by slicing open the bags and measuring out two tbsp (or more) of its contents? Can I just use it in tea bag form? Please advise.
Answer: Give it a go... I would. Trial and error. See how it goes. Or wait till morning and nip to the shops ;)
Question: What kind of tea tree oil should i use to get rid of a keloid? I'm looking for tea tree oil to get rid of the keloid on my nose, but there are so many different kinds of tea tree oil i don't know which one i should use? There are kinds like Herbal Harvest tea tree oil, Gena Tea tree oil, Radiance tea tree oil. Ect.
Answer: Go out and buy some real tea tree oil. I don't know what kinds of brands of tea tree oil you are talking about, but whatever kind it is, make sure that it is real and 100% natural, and not like that fake and diluted stuff people buy from some drug stores. You're only criteria for buying tea tree oil should be that it's the 100% natural kind. A lot of the stuff at the drug stores that are supposedly real oils and things are fake and diluted. The bottle may say tea tree oil, but when you read the ingredients on it tea tree oil will be way down on the ingredient list and it will mostly be soybean oil or mineral oil mixed with different cheap oils and only contain the oil. These don't work as well as the real oils. It will also be loaded with fragrance. Some companies do this because it is cheaper and easier to produce more.
It doesn't really matter which brand you buy, just make sure that it's the 100% natural kind and the only ingredient listed should be tea tree oil. You should avoid buying from some common drug stores which sell the diluted kind and instead, buy from a health food store. They almost always sell the completely natural products. It doesn't matter much, it is mostly all the same as long as it's natural.
Question: What kind of tea were people always drinking in the olden days? In all the 18th or 19th century movies or series I've seen, people are always drinking tea. ALWAYS! Plus they say things like "That's not my cup of TEA" , or "I wouldn't do that for all the TEA in China." What is this tea they're drinking? Was there one certain common tea that everyone had?
Answer: I am decently sure it was just plain orange pekoe tea, because that was the age of the exploration to china ect. where they grew the tea.
Question: How do you pour loose tea without leaves going through the strainer? I serve afternoon tea at a very classy hotel. Usually we serve the tea in the tea pot with a bag so that we know no leave will go through to the tea and there won't be a lot of mess to clean up. Well, I'd like to serve tea loose but lately when I do some of the leaves still get through the strainer and seeing the leaves floating in the guests tea cup looks so unprofessional and unappetizing. What can I do?
Answer: Tea expands in water, while it's dry it falls through the holes in the strainer. I think it's better to let the leaves float free & pour through the strainer (now they are expanded & easily caught.
You could always try a French press. It gives the leaves room to float around as well as a little show when you press the leaves down.
Question: What kind of black or green tea to use when making pearl milk tea? Hi, thanks for taking the time. I'd just like to know what brands of black tea or jasmine green tea is strong enough because i use Lipton and it's no where near strong enough. Does the black tea need to be made with tea leaves or something similar? Oh and this is a secondary question that I'm just curious about; how do the pearl milk tea shops make such strong tea in such a big quantity? That must cost a lot of money. Thanks once again.
Answer: don't use lipton, because it's a weak tea. one teaspoon of tea inside a teabag isn't gonna do it if you want a strong tea.
if you want strong tea, you need to buy loose black tea, preferably assam (english breakfast), or a assam/ceylon mix (british afternoon tea). you can buy black tea in an asian supermarket too. they also have lots of green tea like jasmine, and oolong. for green, i would get a simple green, not jasmine unless you want it. for a roasted flavor, i would get ti kuan yin which is a darker roast of oolong.
if you don't have an asian supermarket near you, look for an indian supermarket. indian supermarkets should have one of the ctc teas like brooke bond red label, or lipton yellow label. ctc ("crush tear curl") teas are dirt cheap, but delivery 5x the flavor, it's like the crack of the tea world, it's the tea that chai masala is made from.
the last case scenario is to look at your gourmet market, or at least whole foods market. and look for yorkshire tea, it will be expensive, but the tea bags are large and make a very strong and tasty tea.
as for tea shops makign tea. tea leaves can be cheap depending on the grade they use. 1st grade tea (for drinking tea, not bubble tea) can cost upwards of hundreds of dollars a pound, but bubble tea places usually buy the cheap stuff, or blends to smoothen out the flavor. they don't use tea bags.
Question: What tea is best for getting rid of pimples? and scars. I have black tea and lemon tea. which on is best. I know green tea works best but I dont have that yet. so black or lemon?
Answer: I have never heard of Tea gettin rid ofpimples. But you can try putting toothpaste on them before you go to sleep, and in the morning they will be dryed up and will not be as red and bright as it was.
Question: How can I make iced tea from scratch using loose tea? I don't keep tea bags handy because loose tea makes a much better hot tea. I need to know the portions to make iced tea.
Mr pants, for hot tea I brew it in a clay teapot. First i put 1 teaspoon of tea per cup in the preheated pot. Then add the appropriate amount of boiling water. Allow it to steep for about 4 minutes. Pour through a tea strainer into your cup and add honey and lemon if you wish.
Answer: It depends on how you plan to ice the tea. There are three basic concepts:
1. Make hot, place in a container, and leave in the refrigerator for several hours. Since you're not watering down the tea any, you can use regular proportions.
2. Make hot, then pour over ice. I double the proportions since after adding enough ice to take hot tea down to the freezing point I have double the liquid in my glass or more.
3. Cold brew - place the leaves in a container and leave in the fridge for 2-6 hours. I tend to forget about the leaves with this method and end up with very strong tea, so I'm not sure about the proportions. Some people say double, some people say normal.
Question: How do you make tea from a tea bag? Yah, I recognize how lame this question is but I've never been a tea drinker. I just bought some herbal tea from an herbalist through the internet and it came in individual tea bags. It says to make a pot of hot tea with it. I don't own a tea pot. Am I correct that I would boil water in a pot, say maybe a 2 quart pot, and then add the tea bag and let it set for 5 minutes? Do I need to squeeze the tea out of the bag? It also says the one tea bag can be used to make up to 3 pots of tea. Do I let the bag dry out then stick it in a Ziplock?
Answer: You have the correct idea. It may not take five minutes for it to saturate the water. You also don't need to use a Ziplock bag. You could just leave it on the countertop to let it dry. Just use water to remove any stain that develops.
