Question: What is the likelihood of a trans vaginal ultrasound missing a tumor on your ovary? Hi I am 21 and I have been feeling a little bloated and my weight has went up a little bit, so my doctor ordered me to have a trans vaginal ultrasound and a abdominal x ray. The trans vaginal ultrasound came back normal and same with the x ray. The x ray only showed that I was a little backed up, could the ultrasound and x ray missed a tumor on the ovaries?
Answer: There is little percentage of error. Those machines are made of the highest quality.
Question: What's the difference between cis and trans recombination? I've got a genetics problem asking about what the genotype of certain flies in a test cross would be if the alleles were in the cis arrangement; and another question further along asking about trans arrangement.
The problem is I'm not really sure what the difference is (between cis and trans arrangement)!
Please help :)
Answer: "Cis" means one chromosome has both dominant alleles and its homologous has both recessive alleles.
==> AB/ab
"Trans" means one chromosome has one dominant allele and on recessive allele, and vice versa.
==> Ab/aB
These linkage phases will determine the proportion of parental and recombinant types if a crossover occurs between the two genes.
Question: I did a trans flush on my car & now its not shifting into 4th unless i let up on the gas. Any soutions? 99 infiniti g20 with 115k miles. Was running perfectly until i did a trans fluid flush. Now when i accelerate its not going into 4th ( my car has 4 gears auto trans) unless i let up on the gas.
Answer: thats why I never recommend a tranny flush to anyone, it cuts loose dirt and then screws up things, try a bottle of Lucas transmission fix, it will free up any sticky valves in the tranny, you will have to take some tranny fluid out of the tranny when you add the Lucas so you don't overfill the tranny.
Question: Whats the difference between admirers and trans chasers? I've read about trans chasers, but is there a difference between the two?
Answer: A chaser by any other name is still a chaser
Question: What happens if you do eat trans fat during atkins induction phase? I stopped at a fast food place and ate a burger without the bread and realized it has trans fats. Will this slow down the induction phase?
Answer: No, it's just that trans fats aren't good for you.
Question: What are minimum cargo temperatures for trans-oceanic flights? We are experiencing loss of memory on EEPROMs in shipments to Europe/Asia specifically, and I am wondering if higher altitudes/lower temperatures in trans-oceanic freight shipment are a possible issue.
In response to Dan, these EEPROMs are in instrumentation sent to customers.
Thanks to Dan and DVS Services. I can't choose a favorite because both answers were informative and were basically in agreement. I appreciate the help!
Answer: temperature and pressure stays constant in all cargo holds whether on an all cargo plane or otherwise : 10-15 degrees Celsius and pressure same of that you would find at 7,000 or 8,000 feet. It is unlikely that your EEPROMS were affected by altitude or temperature
Did you consider moisture and static? Or how about magnetized metal inside the airplane? ( like what a magnet could do to data disks.)
I don't think X-rays do anything to them because my ipods, laptops etc all go through the Xray machine.
Thinking specifically about to Europe and Asia flights....hmmm.... nothing different comes to mind. Flights to there are just like flights o anywhere else in terms of altitude, procedures etc.
Maybe the security there uses something we don't use here to screen cargo?
Question: What is trans equal monthly instalments? My Bank is eager to provide Trans EMI. What is it. Shall i opt for it , reklated to housing loan in India?
Answer: Paying on a loan in equal monthly installments is normal. To pay the same amount each month helps with budgeting. Not sure what the "Trans" part is or means. Sorry.
Question: How hard is it to mate a motorcycle trans to an electric motor? I am building a golf cart and have never delt with a motorcycle trans. I want a 6 speed electric golf cart so is this possible? What would I need to do to fab it up to work. I am very mechanical and have built a car but never delt with bike parts
Answer: Golf carts use DC motors that are variable speed using a rheostat, and therefore don't use a multi ratio transmission. I guess if you really wanted to do that, to make it simple, you could use a transmission separate from the engine like that on a Harley or old British bike, use a chain or belt to connect the two and when you shift, have the shift lever set up so that when you move the lever, it would cut the juice to the motor, relieving the torque and allowing the tranny to shift. When you let up on the lever and the lever moved back to the neutral position, the juice would kick back on.
Question: How do I attach the trans nose cone wires for my VW Beetle? There is a wire called the trans nose cone wire that goes from the rear backup lights to the coil and the trans nosecone. How do I install it, what does it attach to, and how do I install the in line fuse block? Will I need one from a VW parts dealer, or can I just buy it at NAPA?
Answer: Try this.

TheSamba.com :: Beetle Wiring Diagrams
To answer your question.
Back up lights take power from the + terminal on the coil. + may be labeled 15. on a Bosche blue coil, if you can't make it out it will be the one that doesn't have the green wire going to the distributor. Unless you have a Pertronix type points elimination kit.
Hook a wire to the + coil, put an inline fuse in it, Prolly 8-10 amp. Run that wire, and another right along with it, where it won't chafe thru and short, thru the engine tin on the left hand side and up to the front left side of the nose cone. Make sure the 2 wires can be secured away from hot or whirling parts. Better too long than too short.
Next put some quality spade connectors on both wires at the tranny end and plug em into the back up light switch.
Back in the engine compartment put another spade connector on one wire and plug it into the coil + or 15.
Now here's the trick find the wires in your wiring loom that run your back up lights. If you check my link you will find a wiring diagram for your Beetle. take a look at the actual tail lite assembly to start your trace. Also look for a lone wire of the correct color with a male end for a spade connector. Plug your other wire into that.
If your bulbs and switch are good your back up lights should work now.
Question: What is the difference between hydrogenated oils and trans fat? I thought that they were the same. Howoever, I see many products that list on the their labels zero trans fats , but have hydrogenated oils (partially and-or whole) in the ingredients list.
Answer: They are the same thing. BUT, if a serving size contains less than half a gram of trans-fats then the Gov't allows them to round it down to zero. You know those snack crackers that come in packs of 6? Well, they claim 0 trans-fats by calling that a 3 serving container. In actually, if you scarfed down the whole thing like we all do; you'd get 1.5 grams of trans-fats. The public thinks the food labels mean the Gov't is protecting them, but the Gov't makes the food companies put it on the label, giving the Gov't deniability. In essence, ou are responsible for reading and understanding the food labels and choosing what you consume.
Question: Is it possible to use the 5 speed manual trans 4WD of Nissan Z20 Engine to TD27 Engine? My cousin gave the manual, I want to replace my auto trans to manual. If possible what are the parts to modify?
The Z20 engine were used on Nissan Vanet in the Philippines. The starter location is the same. I think the bellhousing is different.
Answer: I don't think the starter motor location is the same. The only way is to hold the trans up onto your engine and see. Nissan back then only used two or three different gear boxes. Where you will run into problems is all the small parts that make the clutch hydraulic work and pedals under the dash. Eariler trucks are easier because they have fewer electronics. Your in for a large job and hidden issues like will the drive shafts be the same.
Question: What is the difference in a Trans Am Firehawk and a Firebird Firehawk? I have found a 2002 Pontiac Trans Am Firehawk and a 2002 Firebird Firehawk and they are basically exactly the same accept for the words on the back. (one says firebird and one says Trans Am) I was just wondering if anyone could tell me the difference in the two.
Answer: The difference in the two is the look. Yea ok they both are F-bodys and all, but if your a true trans am fanatic you can tell the difference. Forexample i have a 2002 pontiac firehawk TRANS AM. The difference between that and the firebird, is that the firebird originated off the FORMULA. If you look on the body of the FORMULA, you will notice the difference in foglights, and the daytime light's (orange lights) which also are used for your blinkers. If you look on the TRANS AM version on the firehawk, it will have the two foglights on the bottom, and your (orange lights) different compared to the FIREBIRD, firehawk. As far as the performance, there isnt a difference. They both share the same suspension and ls1 mods as SLP offers for a firehawk. It's just the body is a little different. In my perspective id say the trans am firehawk is a lil better looking. Most Firbird Firehawks dont have the Daytona wing in the back as the Trans am Firehawks came out with. If your not to sure what im talking about, on my car it has the long brake light in the back. Hope this helps......
Question: Why cis and trans butene give different products? Can anyone explain (with relevant mechanism) that why cis-2-butene gives only the racemic threo chlorohydrine and trans-2-butene gives only the racemic erythro chlorohyrdate?
Answer: The respective enzymes, or onorganic catalysts that catalyze the two different reactions have different, specifically shaped catalytic regions that bind only their respective starting chemicals.(cis or trans 2-butene). The inorganic catalyst could possibly be capable of complexing or bindng only one of the enantiomers and not (thermodynamically) the other. Or if binding is possible the catalyst may not be capable of reacting with the bound salt. In some of these reactions, (not this one), there may also be steric interference.
Hope that helps.
Happy Holidays!
Doc. Dan.

Question: How often does manual trans fluid need to be changed and how can i tell if it needs it? I have had it for 2 years without any kind of trans fluid change. muncie 4-speed.
i don't know what manufacturer recommends. it is a homebuilt car. none of the guts are what it rolled out of the factory with.
Answer: change it at manufactures recommended mileage. Also their should be a fill plug on the side of the transmission. Stick your finger in it and see if the level is even with the top of the hole. If low then add gear oil.
