Answer: That sounds about right to me. You know the facts of one part, this leads you to reasonable conclusions in the second part. Knowledge, based on known facts. Belief, conclusions reached based on best interpretation of known facts. The confusion usually starts when belief is mixed with faith. Faith by its very definition needs you to accept things of which you have no proof but believe to be true. I am not saying religeon is untrue, just unproven, hence I accept that I may well be wrong in my non-religeous views.

Answer: Calculus is weird and strange, hard for many people. In a very real way, you learn to think a different way. Lots of us think that to learn calculus, you sort of twist your head differently ( figuratively.) Get a tutor, someone only about a year ahead of you in calculus. If you don't think you are "getting it" better, change tutors after about 6 weeks.

You need to put in the time and the study if you want to learn anything. You don't have to read every book that's ever been written. Pick books on the specific topic you're interested in, and read one of those.
