Vitamin Program
Question: Should I take my Daily Vitamin Supplement Program all at once? (Please Read)? I just bought a Men's Pack daily vitamin supplement program by Natures Made.
I have never taken this many pills at once and was wondering should I take it all at once or spread out during the day?
http://www.naturemade.com/ProductDatabase/prd_prod.asp?tab=Products§ion=2&productid=92
Answer: The best recommendation would be to follow the package's recommendation.
If that's too many pills for you to take at once, spread them out throughout the meal or to two meals. If you spread them to two meals, try to make sure you take the minerals all together at least.... unless there is more than 600 mg of Calcium in the packet. Calcium should be taken in no more than 600 mg at any given point in time and the normal daily amount is 1,000 mg or so, so make sure that's spread out.
Question: Does the weight loss program "meditrim" where you go get the vitamin b 12 shots every week really work? The program that gives you a b12 and amino acid shot every week.
Answer: My husband and I tried the shots last year before our wedding, they seemed to of worked, just little weight loss. And then it just became more of a ouch coming in 2x a week and me giving my husband his shot at home so we just stopped going. We tried it for over 3 months. I never really lost more then 6lbs.
We just started the 6 Week Body Makeover and we love it!!
It is a life changing experience. My husband and I started it at the end of June my husband has lost 22lbs and I have lost 15lbs. It has a great support team, plus you get support on-line in forums and in chat-rooms. I have learned so much since I have started the 6WBMO. I also thought well I have 30 days to return it so I'll try it. There is no way I would return this program, I knew that after the first week when I started seeing results. My husband has not been this low in weight in over 8 years. We tried other diets, we exercised, nothing was working.
This does!!
Question: Has anyone had experience with a weight loss program which includes Vitamin B6 and B12 injections? It also includes menu plans.
Answer: First off, Vit B12 and B6 donjt nedto be involved to lose weight. They help the body repair in a time of recovery. THEY WONT DO ANYTHING FOR LOSING WEIGHT. They will give you lots of energy though.
Question: Can I continue taking my prenatal vitamins while doing the Isagenix 30 day program? I just started the 30 day program. I am currently taking a prenatal vitamin. I noticed that there are alot of vitamins in the product and I don't want to overdose. I know getting too much Vitamin A is not good. Do I continue taking my prenatals or wait until after my 30 days?
Answer: Can you ask your doctor? Or just take the Folic Acid on its own?
Question: For my health / diet program I'm supposed to start taking fish oil, Vitamin E and Probiotics daily? good or no Just wanting to know the benefits of taking these 3 things on a daily basis ~ I pretty much know the benefits for probiotics, helps with digestion and such, but what are the benefits of the fish oil and Vitamin E?
Answer: altho the benefits we get from such vitamins are often advertised and made aware thru different ways, still consulting a doctor is the best way. we are all different individuals and how much vit. e your body needs might not be the same as how much i need of it .
my son got sick and when i brought him to the doctor, they had to take blood from him, and there they told me that he needs so much so of iron.
with all these promotions about good healthy skin and hair we get from vit. e, there was also a write up lately, passed thru internet that those who take vit. e daily have a shorter life span. i just dont recall the dosage, but on the other hand, something else i read says that you cud start 400 mg of vit. e then gradually increase dosage. so how do we know which to follow? have your blood taken, and ask what vitamins ur body needs and how much dosage you shud take.
Question: Vitamin supplements to encourage muscle growth? I am have ambitions to be a RAMC (royal army medical corp) when i finish medical school, i am on a fitness regime given to me by the army, and it advises me to et plenty of fruit and veg etc, and it also suggests that during the three month long program i take regular vitamin supplements, howver i have no idea which ones to take :S help!
Answer: The most important supplement you can take is a daily multi-vitamin. Look for one that is aimed towards women. If you want additional supplementation, things like flaxseed oil, vitamin c, vitamin e, and a good calcium/magnesium/zinc pill are wonderful. Keep it simple though. The multivitamin is the most important one as a failsafe incase your nutrition alone is bringing you in all the nutrients you need. Good luck on reaching your goals.
Question: What is the best time to take a multi-vitamin? I've begun using the Alli program (http://myalli.com/). The program recommends that I take a multi-vitamin (no problem- already have them). However, it recommends taking it at night before going to bed. Is there an advantage to taking it then as opposed to first thing in the morning? Please site sources if you can.
P.S. I do not want to hear about the Alli Program, I am aware of the "effects" (though I have not suffered any). I honestly don't care whether you think I should take it or not. My question is about VITAMINS. Thank you.
Answer: typically, with any medication (in the case, supplement) it's always a good idea to take them around the same time of day each day.
i'm assuming Alli is recommending taking multivitamins at night because you'll be sleeping..and won't be taking Alli...which will allow you to "keep your fats" for your fat soluable vitamins(?)
that's just a guess...don't believe me, i don't know what i'm talking about
Question: Should I take a multi-vitamin if I'm eating a complex diet? I'm taking a powerful multivitamin for weight training and my running program. But i'm also making sure I eat a complex, proper diet. I noticed I'm getting a lot of vitamin D with my skim milk powders, (60% daily value) and 80% daily value with my multivitamin..
Which leads me to my question - should I be taking the multivitamin if I'm eating properly? Maybe I could cut it in half and only get about half as much?
Answer: i would keep taking it. the recommended amts. are not for people in training, they are for average body under normal conditions. your body should shed any excess.
Question: Are there any type life extension/blood tests and vitamin therapy programs available to people on tricare?
Answer: You must be joking.
Question: Anyone used Shapely Secrets then gained more weight when they stopped the program? I did despite being active.? I am very active and I eat sensibly. Nothing is wrong with my thyroid or my vitamin D level. I've never had such a rebound from an exercise program. Just curious if others had similar reactions. The program worked really well at first. I thought I could maintain without it, but I gained more than I lost!
Answer: Exercise is just as pivotal as calorie intake when it comes to losing weight, but the one diet which definitely delivered for me is wu-yi tea, it can be seen in the resource box below, they have a small number of free trials left, it was highlighted in Fox News and CNN. I shed 20 pounds, it definitely does produce success!
Question: I want to start a work out program. What would you recommend me to take in order to lose some fat get toned? Are there any GNC and/or vitamin world products recommended in order to help you burn fat and grow muscle?. Please help me. I only need to burn a little fat from my stomach by the way, thats the only part of my body where fat accumulates the most. I am 5'10 and I weight about 185 pounds as you can see I am not fat at all.
Answer: Save money... instead of supplements, eat lots of fruits and vegetables, and go way low on the sugar. Whole grain breads, and limit the oils and fats. Lift weights to grow muscle, or use your own body weight and do the regular exercises (sit ups, push ups, squats, lunges) just with a lot of reps. Take a multi-vitamin, vitamin c and maybe b complex. Work out hard and eat a clean diet for 3 months and you will have washboard abs.

Question: Is it true that you might feel worse before you feel better if you're on a new vitamin regimen? I just started taking this stuff called Dual Action Cleanse and I I've been feeling sick. Of course I know it could be a coincidence but I could have sworn I heard somewhere that it is common to feel sick when on a new vitamin program and that sometimes you feel worse before you feel better. Does anyone have any medical info to back this statement up? I'm very curious. To be specific the program consists of a multi-vitamin, a green tea capsule and colon cleansing herb caplets.
Answer: No, it's not true. You should not feel worse after taking a vitamin than you did before. I imagine you feel worse because of the added "colon cleansing" stuff. Your colon doesn't need cleaning, for starters. It is designed to do that for itself, providing you actually eat a decent diet consisting of real food, like fruits, veggies and whole grains. Your body was designed to get nutrition primarily from food anyway, not capsules- and some of that extra stuff, the green tea and those colon cleansing herbs can be disagreeable to your digestion. They could actually interfere with your ability to absorb the nutrients in the food or vitamins as well. My advice would be to quit taking all that, and stick with a good multivitamin/mineral supplement instead. It should ideally be a chewable, so you are more likely to absorb the stuff you take it to absorb. And you don't have to invest big money in those either- the children's chewables work just fine, providing that you eat a half way decent diet as well. But you certainly shouldn't be taking anything that makes you feel worse. That business about feeling worse before you feel better is baloney. Feeling worse is your body's way of telling you something is wrong- and you should listen.
Question: Why is it that food stamps will pay for JUNK food and soda but not vitamin drinks and healthy vitamin bars? I have a friend who has worked all her life. Her spouse left her alone with two kids, one special needs. She’s on food stamps until she gets a job. Why will food stamps let her buy JUNK food, but not healthy vitamin drinks and vitamin supplements that would make her feel better? She is chronically ill. Is there any way to advocate for food stamp programs to be more proactive about health? It’s no wonder o many low-income people are seriously overweight.
She was a middle class, tax-paying citizen for 30 plus years. The system is supposed to be for people like that, a safety net. But she can go have junk food galore and not one vitamin supplement. Even her Medicaid won;t pay for perscription vitamins for her anemia. It is crazy! These people could be me or you at any time!!! I'm not a die hard take-care-of-everbody bledding heart, but I do beleive that people who work hard and have trouble should be helped!
Answer: There are a lot of things that don't seem right about the food stamp program as it's currently run. People complain that those on welfare usually don't keep a clean house or take care of personal hygene, but when the person can't buy cleaning products, what are they supposed to do?
There are some healthy alternatives to junk food and soda that can be bought with food stamp money, but your friend may have to be a little creative. Instead of buying high-sugar frozen treats, she can buy unsweetened juices, lightly sweeten them, and freeze them to make healthy popsicles. She can also freeze watermelon or canteloupe cubes, then mash them and add a little juice and yoghurt for a homemade fruit smoothie.
She can also buy oatmeal, raisins, nuts, and honey, then make her own energy bars. If she's chronically ill, I know how hard it's going to be to find the extra energy, but I think that her health would improve if she could make her own treats.
