Zinc Supplement For Hairloss

Question: Questions about receding hairline...? I'm close to my 21 birthday, and it hit me a few months back that my hairline is receding at the sides. It's not horrible but it is definatly noticable and I'm at a loss why i didn't see it sooner. Anyways, looking closly at the hairs remaining ahead of the recede line, I notice that the hairs seem thined out and alot shorter, and that if they were regular sized like the healthy hairs, I would have for the most part a dramaticcally reduced appearance of recession. So I started taking a daily energy/multivamin from gnc in addition to a specific "supplement" they have that is supposed to be for hair and nails, mainly biotin and zinc and what not. Also for the last month, I have almost cut out all fast foods and soda, table salt, and started eating full servings of fruit and vegetables daily, with every meal if I can manage it. I do not think hair loss and receding hair lines are genetic. Evidence shows that countries like japan, china, and other cultures never had hairloss issues until they were western diet was introduced post-world war 2. I think it's the excess salts and sugars as well as vegetable and fish deficiency. I am not surprised my hair is not a thick and is receding. i've grown up on fast and packaged foods and sodas and my mom never made me eat vegetable if I didn't want to... My question is, can the hairs that are thinned and short be revived with a newfound healthy diet, plus multivatims, and abandonment of salts and processed spices? And also, can hair follicles not producing anymore be revived with such a health blast? I know it would take time as a process, has anybody else seen reverses in hair loss using these methods? In the last month, my hair seems shinier, seems to be growing rediculously faster!! and I may just be seeing what I want but I think the hairs I would stare at because they were so small and thin seem to be getting longer and thicker. I realize I need to be patient and keep up my routine. DO i have any plausable expectations for success, or are already limp follicles doomed to nonproduction?

Answer: Diet and vitamins can help, but it also could be hereditary. How are the hair lines on your mothers brothers? I've read that that is the closest link, not your dad or his brothers. But look them all over and see if you are in the family tradition.
