Question: How to prevent fatigue while working 8 hours at a computer? Any tips for dealing with fatigue while working at a computer? I try to get up and walk around every hour or two, but as the day goes on I find fatigue returns quicker and quicker. I drink lots of water all day (so lots of trips to the washroom), but not sure how else I can perk up!
Answer: well, going around is fine but try some stretching. Not Yoga though but just stretch your arms and legs a bit.
Often a bit of music in the background does the trick, don't know if you're allowed to.
Fresh air (body) and a good setting of light (eyes) is very important. Fresh fruits provide lots of energy, healthy and low on calories ;)
I often daydream while I'm working, it just keeps my mind fit ;)
Question: When does fatigue start in early pregnancy? We are ttc and I have been unusually tired today. To the point I fell asleep. Is it possible for fatigue to set in the day after you concieve?
Answer: The first trimester is typically one filled with fatigue. Feeling tired all the time is absolutely normal, especially given the tremendous work your body is doing to create life! Your body starts producing elevated levels of progesterone during pregnancy, to help prepare the uterus to maintain a pregnancy for nine months. The elevated levels of this hormone can contribute to exhaustion. Fatigue is typically most common during the first and third trimesters, with a break during the second trimester.
Question: Is extreme fatigue a symptom of cancer, or just what happens during cancer treatment? If you have cancer of any kind, would extreme fatigue be a symptom of that? Or are you just severely fatigued once you begin treatment? I know chemo and radiation takes a major toll on the body and that of course causes fatigue, but could you feel that way before you even find out you have cancer?? Thanks in advance.
Answer: Before I was diagnosed with cancer, I got tired more than usual. I didn't think anything of it and just thought I should go to bed earlier. Then I started getting sharp pains in my breast. They say that's not a sign of breast cancer but it was for me. Anyway, yes it can happen. Fatigue can also be caused from a number of other things like stress, depression is a major sign. Many people can be depressed and not realize it at first but the signs will be there and fatigue is one of them. Just not wanting to do anything. Chemo will also cause these signs. It sounds like you already know what chemo does to the body so I won't won't get into that. Another big reason for extreme fatigue could be anemia. Low blood iron will do that as well. So, you need to see a doctor and have some blood work done so they can determine just what's causing this fatigue. Hope you do better and God bless you
Question: What sickness causes fatigue and small chills? Lately I have felt Fatigue and weak, and I have had small chills. What could be causing this?
Answer: There could be alot of different things, from the common cold to mono. I would go to the doctor to see what they say. The chills are probably called by a fever.

Question: How to determine fatigue limit and endurance limit in an S-N curve? In material science, the S-N curve is used to measure the fatigue life of a certain material. I know that "S-N" stands for Fatigue Strength vs Number of stress cycles. My question is, what does it mean by fatigue limit and endurance limit; and how do you determine them.
Thanks so much, in advance!
Answer: The fatigue/endurance limit is the point where the sample would last indefinitely at a given fatigue stress. (infinite cycles)
How to find it on the graph, If you draw a horizontal line from a stress in the y-axis and it doesn't touch the S/N curve, you've found it.
Question: What font size and type is best to avoid fatigue when working with a computer? I work with texts a lot on my computer and I am noticing frequent signs of fatigue. I just feel that it is related to the font. I've heard that small fonts can cause fatigue, but I also heard that large fonts can cause fatigue. So I am confused. What font size and type should I use?
Answer: Any sans serif font is best on the screen and any serif font is best on paper. Size depends on your vision. Without my glasses a 14-16 point font is easier to read. With them they're too large and a 12 point font is easier.
Question: How long does fatigue last from candida yeast overgrowth? After feeling ill for nearly a year I finally found out that I had a candida yeast overgrowth. I have been on a low sugar, low caffeine diet for about a month now and have been taking garlic and probiotics for about 2 weeks. My other symptoms seem to be getting better, but my fatigue is as bad as ever. I sleep for 12 hours on some days. When should I expect the fatigue to go away?
Answer: It takes around 3-5 months to balance between the healthy bacteria and the yeast in your body, but most people will be feeling better at 1 month into using the prescription antifungal "Diflucan." Here is your "recipe" for treating the yeast: Begin by avoiding sugar (except for dark chocolate) which is a healthy food in moderation. Remember, sugar feeds yeast. Take healthy bacteria (probiotics) to fight the yeast. I recommend Probiotic Pearls or Acidophilus Pearls twice a day for 3-5 months. At the same time, begin the herbal antifungal mix "Anti-Yeast" twice a day for 3-5 months. You can add the medication Diflucan for 6-12 weeks (get the generic form fluconazole. The brand name is $600 for 6 weeks. I hope I helped you out some, good luck and take care hun.
Question: How do I resolve the catch-22 of depression causing fatigue and being too fatigued to exercise, etc.? I really want to eat right and exercise to feel better, but due to the fatigue caused by my depression, I hardly have energy to take care of my basic needs. How do I break this very frustrating catch-22?
Answer: It's a tough one, that's for sure.
Maybe it's time to go to the psychiatrist and get on medication.
Question: Why all the pain and discomfort with fatigue and irritability? Is it all from Hypothyroidism? I have continuous muscle tension followed by muscle spasms and random shooting pain, always in diffrent places. I am also plagued with spells of fatigue, and I get so stressed out and emotional. Do you think this is all due to the thyroid issue or something else? If it is something else, any suggestions on what?
My pshychiatrist mentioned fibromyalgia before What exactly is that ? Symptoms?
Answer: sounds like fibromyalgia . you should see a Specialist. doctors that deal with this issue are doctors that specialize in arthritis.
Question: What causes fatigue in diabetes patients? In the case of Type 2 diabetes, what chemical imbalances in the body causes fatigue? What are the causes for the calf and shoulder muscles to ache? Are there natural supplements to correct these imbalances?
Answer: Fatigue in diabetics is caused by high blood sugar. Here's the science of it: When you are diabetic, the cells in your body can't absorb the sugar either b/c you don't make any insulin or your body doesn't use the insulin efficiently. Insulin is the catalyst that allows your cells to absorb the sugar. What makes you tired is that the cells that aren't absorbing the sugar are starving from the lack of sugar and they put off toxins called Ketones. You can test the amount of Ketones your spilling by testing your urine.
I don't think diabetes has to do with calf and shoulder pain. There is pain associated with diabetics called neuropathy but that is mostly in your hands and feet. The only natural supplement that has worked for me helped with my blood sugar is Cinnamon capsules.
Question: How to beat the mental fatigue associated with stress? During exams I was seriously stressed out for several weeks straight which, according to my DR, led to debilitating mental fatigue.
It's been months since then and all the stress is long since past. For some reason though, the mental fatigue has been a constant bother since then. Why is it that long after the stress has gone, I'm still suffering the mental effects of excessive stress? How can I get back to my relatively-perky self?
Answer: Has your doctor done tests to see if you have Vitamin or thyroid deficiencies as these can affect your thinking and energy. Vitamin B and Vitamin D is good for stress. My pharmacist who is very knowledgeable suggests at least 2,000 i.u. a day of Vitamin D.
Valerian root is also good as well as chamomile tea. There are herbal teas you can get from the health food store specifically to help you relax and sleep. Meditation is a great way to relieve stress and you can get meditation C.D's to help you.
Sometimes when I am stressed at work (and mentally fatigued), I will go into the bathroom and do mini meditations by closing my eyes, taking in a deep breath and just focusing on my breathing for a minute or two. It helps to reduce the stress. You can even visualize yourself at a beach while doing this as your subconscious mind doesn't know whats real or not, and it's what controls your body functions.
I find physical exercise is great for stress too. Going for a brisk walk and repeating positive phrases is great too. Sometimes when I am stressed I will go for a brisk walk and repeat phrases I learned from a Tony Robbins C.D. I say in rhythm to my walking, "Every day and every way I'm feeling happier and happier, yes!" I may change the phrase as well by saying "Every day and every way I'm feeling better and better yes." I also touch each of my fingertips while saying this while walking as it "anchors" it to my subconscious mind.
I also have a gratitude list and write what I'm grateful for even when I'm not feeling grateful.
I hope this is helpful,
Good Luck,
Michelle,

Question: How are fatigue failures in composite materials repaired? The B787 is made from composite materials. Just like in metals, fatigue cracks are expected to occurr and must be repaired.
Answer: Am no expert in composite structures, but do know that carbon fiber components are nearly fatigue proof, and do not experience fatigue damage as do metal structures. The composites have long threads to bear the loads, and respond well to cyclical loading while metals have a crystalline structure, and the borders of the crystals provide locations for material failure with cyclical loading.
The bigger issue with composites is hidden damage due to impact causing invisible breakage of fibers below the surface.
Fiberglass is a composite and repairs in fiberglass components are easily completed, but carbon fibers require elevated temperatures and vacuum bagging for maximum structural integrity.
