Question: SHOPPiNG!!!? i go to a private school and yes we wear uniforms...but what can i buy this weekend that will make me look older? make up, shoes, camis, etc???? i am getting my hair done tomorrow with highlights (from brown to dirty blonde) and getting a short, choppy, punk looking hair cut. What else can i do to go back to school as a totally different person?!
Answer: Ok, this may be a totally stupid answer, but think about this before deciding.
Don't just change your outside appearance, change your inside too. Go back to school with confidence - be different. If you were quite and shy, go back bolder and louder. If you were loud and mean - go back as a kind, gentler person.
It will really make people wonder what you did over the summer.
Best of luck to you!
Question: Are the Shopping centres in Santo Domingo good for clothes shopping and can i buy nice clothes? I am planning on coming to Dominican Rep in January with my girlfriend and she loves to shop, and i like to bag myself a good bargain on some nice clothes too. So i was just wondering if Santo Domingo has any really good shopping centres for clothes shopping especially?
Answer: Do you live in the USA? If you do, save your money and buy your clothes there. There are no bargins in Santo Domingo. Do not go to the Colonial Zone for clothes. It's probably the only place in the city that caters to tourists, so you will pay tourist prices. Instead, go to Winston Churchill (its a street). On Churchill you will find the Acropolis, the cities nicest mall, and Blue Mall is walking distance right up the street. Blue Mall just opened and it's bigger and better than Acropolis. But, you will find no bargins on clothes in the Dominican Republic. The opposite is actually true. You will pay more, and the quality is no good. Even if you buy designer clothes, the quality here is not. Just about everything they sell here are returns or rejects. Or for some reason or another did not pass quality control and they end up here. Even clothes that are made and originate here are no good. For instance, Blue Country (bluecountryjeans.com). They are assembled and made here in the DR. But all the good stuff gets shipped overseas. All the rejects stay here and are sold as the same quality as elsewhere.
I live in the DR and have lived in Santo Domingo for years. I no longer ever purchase clothes in the country because of the poor quality of everything. Even people who live here, order things online in the USA and have them shipped here. The prices and quality are better.
Save your money and time, and dont spend a dime on clothes in the DR
Question: What is a good shopping cart software to use? I know there are a lot of shopping carts out there. Here is the deal.
1) I already have a web site and a host.
2) I have a paypal account. I am going to use paypal to accept credit cards.
I just need a low cost shopping cart software that has shipping options, taxes, old / new product prices, unlimited products and looks good and not cheap looking.
I do not know html. I use Frontpage 2003 to build my web site. I just need a shopping cart software that will have a nice looking format already setup to add my products.
Note: I am not offering files to download. I am selling Herbailfe products. If you are aware of someone already having a shopping cart setup for these products and willing to hook me up, then please let me know.
Answer: Hey MrMichigan, I am a web developer and we develop customer shopping carts for people. If you'd like to see an example, you can go to http://www.silkapple.com. If you need ideas, feel free to PM me any time.
Question: How much of your Christmas Shopping will you do online? I simply can't stand shopping. Let alone at Christmas: packed shops, pushy people, and the same old carols playing over and over on the tannoy.
Is e-shopping the way forward? How much of your Xmas shopping is going to be done on the Internet?
Answer: Hi John T.I am doing most of mine that way.
Question: When do you start shopping for your kids clothes from the adult section? My eldest daughter is 13, almost 14 and just started 9th grade. I still shop for her from the girls section. When I saw her new friends today, they dress like 20 yr olds! Aren't 13-14yr olds still little girls? I don't want her to get influenced by them and dress like a 20yr old. What is the appropriate age for kids to start shopping from the adults section? I thought it to be around 16-17?
Answer: At the age of thirteen or fourteen they shouldn't be aloud to only shop at little girls stores, as they technically aren't 'kids' anymore. No matter how much you wish or hope to believe that they are, they aren't. Reality is now a factor and most kids around that age do dress far to old for how they should be dressing. Though- that doesn't mean you should restrict your daughter from shopping at all the trendy teenage stores if that's what she prefers or if shes willing to pay with her own money. At thirteen or fourteen I wouldn't necessarily go out and take her to high fashion adult stores but you could start showing her the juniors and teenage sections by now. Keep in mind- this is my own opinion and it's truly up to you and your daughter to talk this topic over.
Question: What is the busiest shopping day of the week in retail? In general what is the busiest shopping day of the week? I am not talking about the busiest shopping day of the year, just in general, what day of the week sees the most sales/activity?
Answer: Saturday is ALWAYS the busiest. Wednesday is the quietest. I've worked in retail for ages and in loads of different shopping centres and it is always the same.

Question: What are the basic shopping items needed for one person per week? I was wondering what the main essential shopping items are for a weeks amount of shopping. Cutting off the biscuits, chocoate, lollies, desert treats etc. Just the basic items, including tolietry and hygeine. This is for one person for one week.
Thanks.
Answer: If you stick to the essentials, you can make a multiplitude of recipies and dishes. However, depending on your budget, you may not need to shop every week, just might need to stock up on a few items. An example is if you buy rice, you should buy a bigger bag which would last a bit longer. Tomatoes or other perishables will most likely be every week.
My essentials are basically
bread, cereal, milk, sugar, flour, onions, tomatoes(canned & fresh), rice, butter, salt, pepper, lettuce, chicken, ham, mince, some spices, toilet paper, soap, and more.
It varies week to week, try out a shop or two and you will find out how much you use/need after a while.
Good luck.

Question: How do shopping trolleys grind to a halt when they cross the red line? I've never tried to steal a shopping trolley (why would you want to?) but I have seen that sticker on them that warns that the trolley will stop immediately when it crosses the red line. Is this true, and if so, how does it work please?
Answer: What do you mean steal a trolley .... I paid £1 for mine!!!
"The introduction of a hi-tech preventative measure aims to reduce the problem and Sainsbury’s has committed to installing a new electronic security system which will prevent people from taking the trolleys off site.
The system works on a radio signal transmitted from within the Horsham store via a sunken wire which will surround the car park and be marked by a highly visible red line.
All trolleys will be fitted with a device within the wheels and if trolleys are pushed over the wire, a brake comes on and the trolley can no longer be easily pushed.
The brake is de-activated and the trolley can be wheeled once it is pushed back inside the car park boundary."
