Cholesterol Treatment
Question: How soon after a cholesterol hair treatment can I dye my hair? I've been bleaching my hair since last summer (about four times now) and now it won't hold dye. Someone told me to try using a cholesterol hair treatment, which I have started using. How soon is it safe to dye my hair?
Answer: hmmm, the hair treatment is nothing more than a conditioner. There could be different reasons why hair won't hold a dye, it could be medication related. Is your hair in good shape? can it handle the dye without breaking, frizzing, burning? Are you on meds? Are you having it done by a pro? or are you doing it yourself? consider changing brands... hope this helps...
Question: my hair is extremely dry frizzy and damaged someone told me to use cholesterol treatment anyone know is it wor? its a tub called cholesterol kinda like a treatment anyone know if its good or not?
Answer: If you have a hooded dryer, it would be good to sit under it with the cholesterol treatment for about 10 mins, with a plastic cap and then wash it out. That tends to work, or if you don't have a hooded dryer, just put some some on your hair and place a plastic cap and let it sit for about 10 to 15 mins. I have done both ways and it has worked for me in the past.
You can also use an oil called Moroccanoil and believe me a little bit goes a long way. It really helps alot with dry, frizzy, damaged hair. Alot of my coworkers use the product, myself included. Check out all their products at http://www.moroccanoil.com/ You will not be disappointed.
Question: what will a hot oil cholesterol treatment do to my hair? I know its supposed to make it smoother and not frizzy, but will my hair be greasy? Will I be able to style it? Anyone ever done this?
Answer: It will act as a deep treatment. Your hair will not look presentable until you shower again, but the deep treatment (especially if used regularly) can do wonders to improve the health and smoothness of your hair. I recommend doing it overnight or for about 30 minutes to an hour with a heat cap if you have one. Good luck!
Question: What's the best treatment for thyroid induced high cholesterol in women? What's the best treatment for thyroid induced high cholesterol in women? And the best hospitals / centres in India which treat this condition?
Answer: I would call the Red Cross about the best hospital to visit in India to treat the condition and they might also be able to recommend the best treatment to you. Best of Luck.
Question: how to do a hair cholesterol/scalp treatment at home? I have the hair cholesterol, but i do not have a heating cap and i want to do it myself at home...
I know the usual process; shampoo, towel dry, then apply the cholesterol, then after half an hour - 45 mins rinse it out, but how do i do it without a heating cap? Let me know what you have done that helped your hair please! Thanks a lot! :)
Answer: Cover your head with plastic wrap and apply heat in a circular motion with a hair dryer (use low/medium heat setting) for about 10 min. Then immediately wrap over the plastic wrap with a towel to insulate the heat. Another tip, rinse treatment with cool water to shut the hair cuticle over the treatment. It will work.
Question: What does a "cholesterol treatment" (for hair) do?

Question: Has anyone used Cholesterol hair treatment? I found it at the beauty supply store and it is supposed to be good for dry damaged chemically treated hair. Does it work? Thanks.
Answer: it helps a lttle bit to make your hair soft, but what it is really good for is your scalp. if you get dry scalp in the winter or when ever this well take care of the problem!
Question: without treatment or exercising, how long does cholesterol stay in the body? without treatment or exercising, how long does cholesterol stay in the body?
Answer: You will always have cholesterol in your body, as we make it from the food we eat so I'm not quite sure what you mean? Everyone needs cholesterol in their body, otherwise we would die, but there are 'good types' of cholesterol (HDL) and 'bad types' of cholesterol (LDL) and it is the proportion of the two that is important.
You can lower your levels of LDL by eating soluble fibre (beans, pulses, fruit and vegetables, oats) and increase HDL by exercising.
Question: Is the triglycerides usually high after a period of time in treatment for lowering bad cholesterol? Is this a REACTION after the treatment?
Answer: Hi Josie,
I do not think so?
But then - nothing can be said about allopathic medications and their side effects. Read this...
Many people are prescribed synthetic medication to help reduce their high cholesterol. In response to soaring rates of high cholesterol and atherosclerosis, the pharmaceutical companies have produced a class of drugs which are collectively known as statins.
Statins have a one dimensional effect of reducing the body's ability to synthesize cholesterol.
They do not, however, distinguish between the 'bad' cholesterol (LDL) and the 'good' cholesterol (HDL) and can also reduce levels of Co-enzyme Q10 and L-carnitine, two very important molecules which are involved in energy production and fat metabolism.
Myalgia and even stomach, lung and liver tumors have also been associated with the use of these drugs. It is very important that people who are taking prescription medication for high cholesterol be regularly monitored by their doctor.
The Natural Way
Research has demonstrated that a combination of natural remedies, regular exercise and dietary changes can make a significant difference to LDL levels and reduce or even eliminate the need for prescription drugs.
Natural ingredients such as Rooibos, Gugulipid and Red Yeast Rice are well known for their beneficial properties of reducing levels of LDL ('bad') and triglyceride, while increasing the levels of protective HDL cholesterol. With a few life-style changes and a little help from nature, cholesterol levels can be well managed.
The natural herbal remedy http://www.healthherbsandnutrition.com/products/cholestorite.htm is quite popular (must be due to its efficacy) and is known for maintaining healthy LDL and HDL cholesterol levels and promoting the body’s ability to fight free radicals.
Check it out and Good Luck!

Question: Would it be more effective to put a cholesterol treatment in my hair while it's dry, or when it's wet?
Answer: It depends. If it's a pre-shampoo treatment then you might use it on dry hair. If the directions say to use it after shampooing, or on clean hair, then your hair will obviously be wet/damp when you use it. I use all my treatments on damp hair, but not soaking wet, and I find that it absorbs better on my wet hair.
Question: Do on & off alcoholic drinks affect cholesterol treatment regime?
Answer: I have never heard that alcohol effects cholesterol levels but it may effect the medication. Some doctors were recommending one ounce of alcohol a day as it was believed to thin the blood and the buildup in the arteries at one time. Things change everyday and I would check with my doctor.
Question: is cholesterol a protein treatment for hair? im leaving it in overnight, i was wondering if its like a deep conditioner where my hair will be softer in the morning when i wash it out or if it will make it thicker. i made a hair mask with eggs & oil once&it made my hair thicker, but i've never used cholesterol before.
Answer: Hair stylist actually use cholesterol when giving scalp treatments and it makes the hair much softer. You should have nice looking hair in the morning. (:
Question: Has Anyone Used A Cholesterol Treatment For Dry/Damaged Hair Before?!? i just bought one from Sallys, its called Silk Elements Mega Cholesterol Conditioning Treatment, i just double processed my hair with bleach and im gonna actually have to do it one last time on the ends for like 15 minutes with a lower peroxide cuz they didnt lift as good as my virgin roots, so needless to say my hair is currently really weak and damaged. What do u think of them? Will I benefit from it?
Thanks!! :-)
Answer: It won't hurt to use it because it does add moisture/oil to the hair. But, if your hair is weak and damaged, the last thing you should do is put more bleach on your hair.
Try using the Aphogee reconstructing treatment to strengthen your hair; it works well, and it's a protein treatment. Also, you should always use a good moisturizing shampoo, conditioner, and a leave-in conditioner. Try Paul Mitchell, and/or Matrix products.
