Health Reviews
Question: Where can I find reviews for health insurance.? I am searching for health insurance, where can I go to find information about plans offered and non-biased reviews. In general I have a great distrust of them and am reluctant to get any, any information would be greatly appreciated. I would like something official from an organization or government site. Thank you!
Answer: From a gov't site? Wow. Since when is the gov't knowledgeable about consumer products?
Your best bet is a trusted insurance broker. There is no third party source that's going to be reliable. Consumer Reports does it, but their track record is pretty horrendous in the arena of rating insurance. An insurance broker can give you an unbiased breakdown of plans. Just be sure that when you apply that you apply through the broker to compensate them for their time. AND, if you apply for multiple plans DON'T apply through multiple brokers. I currently have a case where the client applied through United Healthcare through me and also applied for Aetna through another broker. I told the client that they're going to have to make their own decision. Had he applied for both Aetna and United Healthcare through me then I'd be able to give him a completely unbiased opinion. Buying through a broker is the same price as buying direct or through any other source, so if you have a trusted advisor then you don't have to worry about it. Smart consumers use financial advisors and insurance brokers.

Question: IS there a HEALTH insurance, or discount program that had good reviews, good deal, and not a scam? I need health insurance that will also except pre-existing conditions, and one that is not a scam. Is there any health insurance company or health discount company that is credible?
Answer: That you are so considered about pre-existing conditions suggests you already have a health condition. So you want something that is not a scam but will cover your health problems that already exist? Who is scamming who? Do you think they should sell life insurance at funeral homes?
The only policies that don't have pre-existing conditions limits heavily underwrite, and if you have a health condition, they'll know about it.

Answer: don't know of any off hand that would do that for health insurance specically, but AMbest.com rates insruance companies in general on how good of a company they are.

Question: My boss argues that many companies offer no benefits, health or performance reviews - Is this true?
Answer: A lot of small businesses find themselves in this position. With no monies to provide benefits and no reason to maintain "performance reviews".
Think of a bar owner. He/she provides performance feedback instantly and daily and very likely does not provide benfits for themselves much less employees.

Question: Machine design ; health and safety reviews & regulations? Speaking in general terms of a ''Machine'', Im looking for some information on the health and safety considerations in machine design.
Im sure safety considerations are factored in from the very early stages of design (i.e concept development) but I really dont have much information on the whole topic.
What sort of regulations have to be followed?
What sort of tests & documentation would need to be provided before a machine could be released onto the market?
If someone could suggest a good source of information on the subject please, or may be able to speak from experience?
Answer: Building a machine is not an easy task.
I am in the mist of designing a machine myself.
Safety concerns are not very large if you consider the legal aspects.
Basically you are responsible for the machine you design.
You are responsible for any damage or personal harm that comes to anyone that is directly or indirectly around your machine.
You need insurance, and you need to have a business such as an LLC(Limited Liability Corporation)
This protects you from being sued personally, if the machine is patented under the company name.
Second, you machine need to have a certification from someone like UL(Underwriters Laboratory).
This does not prevent you from being sued, but it limits your liability, and this is the name of the game, limiting liability.
As far as design, it greatly depends on your machine.
An E-Stop circuit is the first basic safety device on the machine. My experience is more than two decades, and I still argue of the legalities of the OSHA requirements over this circuit.
OSHA us the government organization that will conduct an investigation if there is an accident.
