Question: How many 500mg Vitamin B5 pills (pantothenic acid) for acne a day? I am wondering how many pills for I take of Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid)
for my acne each day? They don't say how many you should take on the bottle I got.

Answer: According to one small study published in 1995 by Dr. Lit-Hung Leung, high doses of Vitamin B5 resolved acne and decreased pore size. Leung's study gave 45 Asian males and 55 Asian females varying doses of 10-20g of pantothenic acid (100,000%-200,000% of the US Daily Value), 80% orally and 20% through topical cream. Leung supposedly noted improvement of acne within one week to one month of the start of the treatment.
Critics are quick to point out the flaws in Dr. Leung's study, however: it was not a double-blind placebo controlled trial. Also, this is the only study looking at the effect of Vitamin B5 on acne, and few if any dermatologists prescribe high-dose pantothenic acid.
So, this one study has major flaws, and its results are dubious. I would not take B5 for acne. One study cannot be used to justity adoption of a medical treatment. There are many other, well-studied options for treating acne that are available both over-the-counter or through a dermatologist that are known to be effective. B5 isn't one of them. Good luck!

Answer: Well the good thing about the B vitamins is that they are water soluble so you just pee the excess out. Many people tolerate megadoses of the B vitamins very easilly. I myself took a B-50 complex several times a day for years and years.(should still but slackin' off).

Answer: Sorry to burst your bubble, but B5 will not eradicate acne. It may help a little, but not much. Consider how long you've been taking it. If it worked, it would have by now. Acne is caused by bacteria, and even antibiotics can't completely kill them off. If you have it really bad, see a dermatologist. If not, just wash a lot and remember that it's normal.

It's about panothenic acid, a B-Group vitamin.
Answer: You need Vitamin B-5, it is necessary for absorbtion/breakdown of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. (chemical compound synthesis)

Question: What will pro vitamin b5, beta hydroxy and witch hazel do to my skin? I currently use a facial product that has these ingredients.
Answer: B5 helps to stimulate cell growth and help cells hold moisture, beta hydroxys are acids which stimulate cell turnover (chemical exfoliation), and witch hazel is an astringent which essentially dries out skin tissues by removing oil. I'm not sure what product you're using but it seems like these ingredients are somewhat working against each other in the product, especially the witch hazel which can be extremely damaging to delicate skin.
Question: should i take both vitamin B5 and vitamin B-complex? im going to start taking vitamins to further improve the appearance of my skin. doing some research, ive found that high doses of vitamin B5 helps prevent acne and also keeps the skin healthy, so i plan to do that since my main issue is acne. however, many people say that in addition to taking high doses of vitamin B5, i should also take a vitamin B-complex along with it. is that really necessary? since i only want the vitamin B5?

Answer: Pantothenic Acid? No, it's a simple vitamin that's required for daily health and you'll find it in breads, cereals, Brewer's Yeast, and many other foods that anyone with money to buy it can get. I'm not sure why it would be restricted as it's almost impossible to abuse since B Vitamins are water soluble (so they leave your body too fast to overdose easily). I hope this helps!

Sorry, having typed all that I haven't answered your question. There does not appear to be any adverse interaction between them. There are interactions with other drugs, to find them Google zinc interactions etc
Question: Can mega dosing 10g of vitamin B5 cause hair loss in the future ? ? I've been taking10g of this for one week and the only side affects ive had is dioreah and a dry nose. Ive looked on the internet on many sites and a few people have said they have got hair loss a few months after taking that much of a dose. Im 16 and suffer from mild acne so thats why i take it if your wondering about the high dose.
Answer: vitamin b is one of the water soluble vitamins. your body cannot store it, so any access comes out in your urine. it is very difficult to have "too much" vitamin b.
