Breakfast Eater
Question: What do you do if your child is just not a breakfast eater? sometimes my son will not want to eat in the morning, but lately he has been eating good all day.(growth spurt coming on) So when your child doesn't eat breakfast do you stress over it? just wondering since "they" say breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
Answer: I get him to drink some carnation instant breakfast and try to get him to eat a nutrigrain bar or something like that.
Question: Needing some healthy breakfast ideas for 20 month old picky eater? My son is 20 months old and a very picky eater.I am trying to find some healthy meal ideas for him,mostly breakfast but would love other suggestions as well.My problem-he is very picky.Doesn't like eggs,meat,most veggies,and just about anything lately lol..He does love fruit & cheese though.He would eat that over everything..Any ideas?
Answer: have you tried melting the cheese over things to get him to eat them? that works wonders for my daughter sometimes. she LOVES cheese too.
how about making some healthy dips with foods that he won't normally gobble down? you can just google "healthy dips for toddlers" here's one result http://www.recipestoday.com/articles/feeding-baby/healthy-dips-for-toddlers-4188/ i can usually get my 20 month old to eat a little more of the healthy stuff if she can dip it. toast, chicken nuggets, veggies--she always eats more if there's a dip.
also, maybe try sweet potato fries, sprinkled with cinnamon
yogurt with fruit mixed in, or as a dip for fruit.
a peanut butter dip.... or a mashed bean dip.
thankfully little ones don't need a lot of meat at this stage (i think one tablespoon is a serving, and they need 3 servings a day, if i remember right) but peanut butter, beans, and dairy can fill the protein requirements as well.
and to get some veggies in him until he chooses to eat them on his own, you can pick up a copy of "deceptively delicious"
and something else that works really well with my daughter that you might try--make sure you eat exactly what he is, and talk about how yummy it is. sometimes my daughter won't eat something if i don't eat it too, and often she'll want what i'm eating--so i just trade her my piece of brocolli (or whatever it is) for hers! lol
Question: What is a good breakfast for picky eater? Can't eat & don't really like the following: eggs, milk, yogurt, ham.
Apart from fruit & toast, what else is there?
Answer: Cereal
Bagels with cream cheese
Pancakes
Waffles
Leftovers from last night- I love pizza for breakfast
Rice pudding
Buiscuits with sausage or bacon or cheese
muffins
a baked potato with butter or margarine and whatever toppings you like ( bacon, cheese)

Answer: Boil an egg and buy some cinnamon bread and pop it in the toaster. Quick and not a lot of fat or calories.
Question: What are some low fat, low calorie foods to eat for breakfast? I am dieting and have never really been much of a breakfast eater. I seem to stay hungry all day long and maybe eating breakfast will help me with that.
Answer: If you stay hungry all day, the last thing you need is a low calorie breakfast. Breakfast should be a meal which starts your day right, you should eat foods that give you energy to take on the day. Eggs with toast and milk. Oatmeal with fruit and honey. Ham and egg on an english muffin. Breakfast is one of the meals where it's ok to get grams of fat in.
Question: Picky Breakfast food eater.Looking for Quick, Easy, Filling breakfast food ideas? Ive never really been a big fan of breakfast foods. I don't mind making eggs, sausage, toast, etc, however I don't really have time to make it in the morning before work.
I usually am stuck grabbing fruit, yogurt, or a nutrigrain bar but when I do, I have hunger pains throughout the morning until lunch. Those kind of foods really dont fill me up.
Any ideas? Are there any quick, easy, filling breakfast foods I could buy?
Answer: You could always put bread in your toaster before you get ready for the day, so once your ready the toast is ready all you have to do is spread whatever you want on it and you can eat it on your way to work.
Or if you like cold sausages you could always cook sausages the day before and leave them to go cold, and hey presto! Breakfast is served with you only having to get them out the fridge.
Or do you have a microwave, kettle or fridge at work?
If you do could you take cereal or something with you to work and eat a decent breakfast there?
Question: what are some great nutritional breakfast bars? i would like to find something thats chocolate and healthy for me. im not so much of a breakfast eater but would like to change that.

Question: are you a major breakfast eater(big breakfast) or something fast and easy? mine are big on sundays only i dont know why but sundays are always a big breakfast deal
Answer: I rarely eat breakfast, but when I do it's a bacon sandwich from the canteen at work (either when on a day shift, or going home from a night shift).
Question: Eat 6 small meals a day including breakfast? I am always hearing that a person should eat 5-6 small meals a day, and that breakfast is very important. That is helps to burn more calories and speed up the metabolism. I am not a breakfast eater, I don't get hungry until around noon, and I don't eat much during the day for the same reason. If I am trying to get healthier and lose a few pounds, do I make myself eat even if I am not hungry to lose weight faster? Sounds so odd to me.
Answer: You may find that after a few days of making yourself eat something first thing in the morning that you naturally begin to get hungry at about the same time in the mornings. At least that's how it worked for me. The recommendation is more like three meals and two snacks a day. Just make sure to keep it all healthy and maybe throw in a high quality multivitamin and green tea to speed up the weight loss process.
Question: I'm not much of a breakfast eater but I do get hungery in the morning. Should I force myself to eat breakfast?
Answer: Try eating something small at first, or just a few bites of something each morning and gradually increase until you have a whole breakfast. I had the same problem and had to force myself to eat in the morning and I no longer have the probem now.

Answer: - Cup of wholegrain cearel with 1/2 cup skimmed- 1% milk with a serving of fruit added (1/4 cup dried fruit, 1/2 cup berries, 125mL juice, OR 1 medium fruit - apple, orange, banana, etc..)
- 1/2 cup granola/ musili with 1/2 cup skimmed- 1% milk OR 125mL lowfat yoghurt with a serving of fruit added (1/4 cup dried fruit, 1/2 cup berries, 125mL juice, OR 1 medium fruit - apple, orange, banana, etc..)
- 1-2 pkgs instant oatmeal (3/4 cup steel oats) made with 1/2 cup skimmed- 1% milk with a serving of fruit added (1/4 cup dried fruit, 1/2 cup berries, 125mL juice, OR 1 medium fruit - apple, orange, banana, etc..)
- 2 slices whole wheat toast (1 whole wheat bagel) with 2 eggs (*optional- with 2 tsp margerine on toast) and a glass of skim- 1% milk with a serving of fruit (1/4 cup dried fruit, 1/2 cup berries, 125mL juice, OR 1 medium fruit - apple, orange, banana, etc..)
- 1 slice whole wheat bread with 1-2 tbsp peanut butter, a chopped banana and glass of skimmed- 1% milk

Question: VERY Picky eaters for breakfast? My little sister (3)is a very picky eater she is really hungry during breakfast she dosent like eggs,ceral,sausage,pancakes ,turkey ,ham none of those sandwiches please help me she has Sensitive gag reflexs.so throws up stuff she dosent like .
Answer: Try making her a milkshake with milk, a little honey, banana, frozen strawberries, some bran for bulk. The milkshakes can be made with any combo of ingredients. Freeze some milk into icecubes to help make it more of a shake. They are so yummy!
Question: For people who are regular breakfast eaters-? How do you get yourself to WANT to eat breakfast in the morning? I am simply not hungry until I have been awake for 3-4 hours. Is there a way I can change this? My daughter is starting to have the same problem so I need to fix this before she picks up my bad habits. Also-do you usually eat breakfast right away in the morning or after you have been up for a while?
Answer: I had the same problem...Here's some tips I was told for the same thing:
-Just make yourself eat breakfast, sure you might not want to. But within a week or so youll have established a routine so when you wake up youll feel like eating breakfast.
-Try getting up a little earlier each day so the hunger kicks in sooner
-Exercise before breakfast. It always makes you feel hungry. Plus, it helps boost your metabolism for the day.
