Chlorella
Question: What temperature does Chlorella Sp grow best in? I'm trying to grow chlorella to make biodiesel, I know algae will grow even if i just leave it alone but i need to grow over 100 pounds of dry algae in less than a month so i need to have every variable perfect.
Answer: Chlorella and other algae have a wide temperature range. When I grew algae in the lab, the temperature of the incubator was set at 25 degrees C. You could do a very simple experiment by incubating your cultures over a wide range of temperatures to see what temperature gives you the highest density of cells. Another factor is what temperature produces the greatest amount of oils in the cells which might be more important then the greatest number of cells.

Question: What are the health benefits of Sun-Chlorella? So I have been using Sun-Chlorella for a while; no longer than 2 years and i was just wondering what kind of benefits there are from this product. Have you been using it? What kind of benefits did you get/or are getting? Comments welcomed. :)
Answer: Sometimes people get hung up on supplements and mega vitamins. Both can have their place, but what is most important is just to eat a healthy diet of fresh fruits and vegetables and a grilled or baked serving of Fish, poultry or even red meat on occasion. If you eat healthy, you don't need to spend money on all those "miracle" supplements. Throw in some daily exercise and you are healthy.
Take care and be well.

Question: Do you feel any better after using Chlorella? I have digestive problems and I read that Chlorella and Aloe Vera could help a lot! Have you tried Chlorella or Aloe vera and feel any benefits?
Answer: Sun Chlorella algae offers so many trace minerals that can support the digestive system. For digestion I would recommend aloe vera to balance the ph, and I would also suggest accidophilus and bifidus to regulate the digestive tract. If you are wanting to "regulatate" your system, with the above, you will be more regular, etc, and you will experience less gas, heartburn etc...
Question: Where can I buy Chlorella Vulgaris algae? Where can I buy live strains of Chlorella Vulgaris algae?
I've tried to look around on the internet, but I only get results on powders and supplements.
Answer: I've tried science experiments with live cultures before, too, and had the same problem. The best place to get anything like that would be a college. They have fairly good stock in their labs, but, the only problem is that you generally have to perform the experiment in their lab.
Hopefully you're already in college and this plan will work out for you.
Question: what are the benefits of taking chlorella supplements? I want to hear from people who have been taking chlorella for some time. I have been using ti's supplement for almost two years and I'm not sure If it's worth continuing this rather expensive supplement
Answer: Chlorella is one of the green super foods and is rich in chlorophyll, other enzymes, amino acids, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.
It is a good colon cleanser, good energy booster and good for your digestive environment. It also helps to reduce acidity.
Other green super foods are spirulina, barley grass, wheat grass and alfalfa.
Question: Where can I buy chlorella and spirulina? I don't want to get it shipped to me from the internet or any crap like that. Is it available at health food stores, GNC and the like?
Answer: Of course! You usually find them in powdered or capsule form. Powdered is good because you can mix them with water or fresh-squeezed juice, and then enjoy drinking these superfoods. I personally add liquid chlorophyll to my filtered water, and I drink Greens+ once a week (it has both chlorella and spirulina).
Any good supplement store should have all of these products. Just familiarize yourself with what stores are in your area, and have fun shopping!
Tabitha.

Question: Is it possible to eat too much chlorella? What could happen? I have fell in love with this stuff. I love the way it tastes, I crave the flavor all the time. It's a food, so this is okay to eat all you want right?
Answer: Can You Take Too Much Chlorella?
It is best to think of chlorella as a food because that is exactly what it is: one of the purest, most potent foods on earth. A person can not take too much chlorella because it is naturally detoxifying. Therefore, the fear of chlorella accumulating and becoming toxic to the body is not present.
However, there is a "comfort level" with every person where he or she knows how much Chlorella to take per day. In general, that level will be about 5-8 grams per day.
A person taking 15-20 grams of chlorella per day is not at all unheard of if someone is trying to combat a disease with the amazing medicinal properties of chlorella. It is a whole food, not a concentrate or extract, therefore you can NOT take too much of it because of its detoxifying abilities.
Question: What are the growth patterns of algae especially Chlorella?
Answer: Green food supplements or "superfoods" are totally natural chlorophyll rich foods. They are made from grasses or algae. Green superfoods have similar properties because they all contain large amounts of chlorophyll. Customers might find the array of products quite confusing, as all profess to do wonders for your health. This article will hopefully help you to find the right green food supplement for your individual needs.
Micro algae are primitive organisms; they were among the first life forms on earth. They are unusual in that they do not fall readily into either category - plant or animal, but exist somewhere in between. All algae are rich in easily assimilated protein, nucleic acids, minerals and beta-carotene; they also contain appreciable amounts of GLA and Omega-3 essential fatty acids. Nucleic acids (RNA and DNA) help to renew cells and thus reverse the degenerative aging process. The micro algae that are available in the Haelan Centre are spirulina, blue-green algae and chlorella.
