Cross Over Foods
Question: Training for cross country over the summer, what should I eat? Trying to get ready for my first year of XC next fall (sophomore) and dont know what to eat to keep my body in shape.I eat pretty unhealthy most the time, fast food, junk food,cokes,ect...Im looking for a list of foods I can eat throughout the day.Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snakes.
Answer: breakfast - cereal, oatmeal, fruit, orange juice, something along those lines...no poptarts or toaster strudels for they are very unhealthy.
lunch - salad, sandwich, fruit...no mcdonalds, no burger king, no fast food what so ever. eating fast food is the worst thing you can do for your heart.
dinner - steak, pasta, chicken, pizza, etc... again no fast food. you should really consider limiting the soda intake. i know it tastes so good but think of the harmful effects that caffine has on your body.
snacks - no junk food. no chips, no tasty cakes, no cookies. if you wanna be good at XC you should really watch what you eat. your diet makes a huge difference. when you are in the mood for a snack, try a granola bar or fruit.
Question: What food item would make a good cross-over from kitchen to bedroom? other than grapes ~wink~

Question: 4 ants need to cross over a very thin stick to get some food. Unfortunately, the stick will be removed in 17 m 4 ants need to cross over a very thin stick to get some food. Unfortunately, the stick will be removed in 17 minutes. Worst than that they need to carry a clover leaf at everytimes (the only one that's left) because it's too dangerous to cross without it, and it’s only strong enough to support two ants at any given time.
Each of the ants walks at a different speed. One can cross the stick in 1 minute, another in 2 minutes, the third in 5 minutes, and the lastone takes 10 minutes to cross. How do the ants make it across in 17 minutes?
Answer: Send 1 and 2 across (2 Minutes), send 1 back (3 Minutes), then send 5 and 10 across (13 Minutes), then 2 back (15 Minutes) then 1 and 2 across (17 Minutes)
Question: when is it TOO MUCH and when does it cross over from pretty to tacky? my friend is getting married and her colors are turquoise, white and bronze...the colors are very shimmery(even the white..very pretty) as far as decor goes..she wants candles or lights that give the illusion of flickering candles cuz it will look good with the fabrics and matching decorations color wise but where do YOU personally draw the line between decor thats beautiful and color coordinated to way to much going on, tacky, too matchy matchy?
also she has an idea the place she wants to have the reception..does the staff at the place do the decorating or does she hire someone seperate to do that? its in a ballroom of a country club
another question..is it ok for her to hire an outside caterer even though the country club has a kitchen staff that usually does functions? she comes from a large puerto rican family and she wants some of the food to be very culture oriented and wants someone else to do it other than the C.C staff
how do i sound jealous? im her MOH and am busting my behind for this. she wants everything to be the same color scheme but also doesnt want it to be sooooo color coordinated that it looks tacky and over the top..i am not jealous in the least bit!
she hasnt hired anything or anyone yet..shes just going around getting an idea so she sees where she can splurge and where she has to keep a tight budget so she wont lose any money
I AM NOT CALLING HER OR THE WEDDING TACKY!! all i asked was IN YOUR OPINION when does it cross the line into tacky territory thats all...all we have is her colors and an idea about the food and some decorations she wants..the wedding isnt for another year. if i thought she or the wedding was tacky i wouldnt be in it
Answer: It sounds like she is on the right track with the color choices. Using those colors wherever possible in the room will help to create a cohesive look. I think you will know if too much is going on, if you walk in the room and the color jumps out at you and slaps you in the face! Lets say the tablecloths and chairs are all turqoise- now thats too much. But lets say the tablecloths and chairs are white, with turquoise napkins and turquoise&bronze centerpieces- now that would look very classy. You want to look around the room and see bursts of color, not have everything covered in it.
As for the decorating, you will have to talk to the Country Club since each operates differently. It might also depend on how involved (man hours needed) it is, so she should let them know specifically what she wants done.
In my experience, most place which have a kitchen do not allow outside catering, but you never know unless you ask!
Question: What is requierd to go over the boarder usa in michigan- near detroit to canada? What do u need to cross over the boarder to canada id wise and is there any law of what u can bring back food drinks wise or materials? any info ?
Answer: I just went to Casino Niagara in canada and all you need right now to get in and out is a copy of your birth certificate and a drivers liscense but i believe as of 2009 you will need a passport. And you can bring back stuff from canada we stopped at the duty free store before entering back into the us and bought like 10 bottles of liquor because it is a little cheaper the guard will ask you if you are bringing anything back and just tell him what you got and it should be no problem as long as you don't try to get like 40 bottles of liquor and 30 cartons of smokes that would cause some problems.
Question: Taking food over the border? I live in canada. I am traveling over the sarnia border into the u.s to go to chicago. I am wondering what kind of food will i be allowed to cross over with. Most of it will just be snack stuff that we eat on the way as it is a 7 hour drive.
Answer: Well, I know for sure you can not take meat. My in-laws packed chicken salad, and turkey sandwiches and they would not let them take it over the border. I would avoid taking anything that is "fresh" - like, apples, oranges, bananas, meat sandwiches, carrots - stick to stuff in packages like chips, crackers, cookies, even some baked goods (like muffins or bagels) and bottled water.
Good luck.
Question: how do i get a border collie cross grey hound to carm down? We have this 2 year old border collie cross greyhound and she is always hypo! she chases our golden labrodor and picked up our small long haired jack russel and shook her over food! wat can i do to make her calm?
Answer: Go to obedience school with this dog to teach her manners!
Question: America's economy is going downhill, if you had the opportunity to cross over to another country....? If the economy got to the point where you would earn $0.68 an hour and the prices are the same as they are now, would you cross over to a better place to support your family?
Let me just state that I am legal in this country but I came from a country where minimum wage is 6 pesos and 85 cents. Sure, that doesn't sound too bad but if you compare it to food prices, clothes, just bare necessities, it's a whole different story.
It's actually more expensive to but a pair of pants over there with dollars than to buy them here!
Would you continue to work for 65 cents or even a dollar if you are lucky or cross a desert for just a couple of days while you see countless corpses scattered all over the desert?
If you don't have enough money to buy milk, would you have enough money or time to get a passport?
It took me years to cross legally and I was middle-class.
If you put all the illegal stuff behind you, could you admit you would cross to "the land of opportunity" to find a better life? After all, isn't that what we all as humans want, to have a better life?
Please no rude comments, if you don't agree with me, say it in a civilized manner.
Answer: Absolutely!
Survival of the fittest is law in the human world and the animal kingdom. By moving overseas, I will not lose my U.S. citizenship and can move back if conditions get better.
I would consider Canada, Australia or Spain as countries I would relocate to.

Question: Can't terrorist cross over the US border with the other 10,000 illegals that come over daily? How can they think it's 'competitive' to inject over 200,000 immigrants every 30 days into this country, when we suffer 20 million unemployed Americans? Another 35 million Americans subsist on food stamps! Millions more suffer foreclosed homes because they cannot pay the mortgages because they don't have jobs. How about 13 million of our children living in poverty? How about 1.5 million homeless Americans? Where is the logic? Where is the common sense? What planet do they live on?
Am I crazy to ask these questions? Or, are they totally out of touch with reality as they import 1.2 million more people into this country annually? I am a former math/science teacher. Numbers either add up or they do not add up. At our current immigration rates, we can expect 70 million more immigrants injected into this country within 25 years. It's the most ignored and avoided issue in immigration debate.
Answer: It's the same the world over in the developed countries. Maybe if the World bank and IMF addressed poverty in practical way then the so called failed states would be able to develop in a way that suited them and not the USA. Then their debt would go FOR something and not wasted like it has been doing. Oh, and while we're in a thoughtful mood why don't we just acknowledge that free trade should be a choice and not compulsory. Giving a third world country money then telling them how to spend it when they know their own markets and potentials best does not work. If the shoe was on the other foot and I was living in an impoverished country I would be moving on too. Wouldn't you?
Migration will continue until this scenario is sorted out. It's not impossible. It seems that the IMF are so intent on controlling the world that it's protocols are completely out of touch with the people who know.
Question: did i cross over the line? i just suffered from food poisoning a day before and feeling very tired in watever i do..

i was feeling very uncared as she knew i was suffering from my sickness and assumed i had recoverd..and told me i was using the chance since i have recovered to bully her by tapping her head(ONLY A LIGHT TAP)...
i was very angry and fely neglected and thus i thought that
"since she thinks that the book is more important than her safety and more important than me, wat for should i care for her?" so i just pushed the chocolates to her and told her " since u like to read then i'l be heading home first" and walked home...
guys do u think wat i have done is over the line? or is it just ok?
Answer: You spent several paragraphs relating something you've could've boiled down into a couple of sentences.
If you have an issue with her behavior, discuss it with her. If you two cannot communicate, then there's not really a relationship there to be worrying about.

Question: What Meals Should I Eat During Cross Country Season to Keep My Body Healthy? Hi,
My name is matt and i wanted to ask anyone out there (nutritionists, dietitians, etc) what would be some meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner that i could eat to keep my body satisfied and healthy. Along with foods that will keep me ready, my body ready, and my mind ready for practices over the summer. I would just like to hear some suggestions or advice on what i should eat, what i shouldn't eat and meal options.
Thank you very much :)
Answer: Matt,
Meals should consist of high proteins. Foods with peanut butter, meat, fish, nuts, etc are good because it builds muscles. Drink milk(after practice, never before. Dairy products sit in your stomach) because it strengthens the bones that you are using every day. Also you are allowed to eat foods with a lot of carbs. You'll be burning off the carbs and using them as energy which will greatly be needed during your cross country season. So eat foods like pasta, bread, cereal, etc. All around try to keep your diet balanced. Meaning, don't forget your fruits and vegetables because the vitamins in them play an important part in keeping you healthy. Also remember that fast food does not make you fast! Keep in mind that the day before a meet you should watch what you eat because what you eat can affect how you run. So eat some carbs for dinner the night before to give you an extra boost in the morning. I've also heard that bananas help reduce cramps you get during running but I disagree with that.
Question: What's a good way to lose weight during cross country? I just started, and I want to improve my times while losing weight. I'm a girl, 14 yrs old, 5'5", and a little over 140 lbs, i think. My waistline is 32 inches. I'd like to lose about 15 lbs. (over a long period of time, of course.)
What foods should I eat and avoid? I want to have enough energy and not become too hungry/tired.
Also, does walking and running the same distance burn the same amount of calories?
By the way, i did cross country last spring, and I cut back on food (especially junk food), but I didn't lose much weight. I usually felt hungry. Could it be caused by slow metabolism?
thank you
Answer: your problem its slow matabalism. i do cross country &u become hungrier then usual bc of the sudden excersise ur bodys getting. eat "clean" by avoiding packaged food &replace dark meats w/lean fish& drinking fluids is the most important part.
by this i usauly lose 10lbs by the end of the season
