Eggs Meat
Question: Is it rude or impolite to consume meat, eggs, or dairy in front of a vegetarian or vegan? Does it honestly bother you if your friends and family consume meat, eggs, or dairy in front of you?
Even if they don't make a comment about it or shove it in your face?
Answer: I doesn't bother me when people eat meat, eggs, etc in front of me. I personally do not care to eat meat, but that does not mean that I expect others to not consume it. I went out to dinner with a friend a while back. She actually asked me if I minded if she ordered a streak. I really appreciated that she considered my feelings(even though it wasn't necessary). She really is a great friend.
I am aware that I am living in a world that consumes meat. It is something I need to accept, otherwise I would be spending a lot of dinners by myself. I eat what I want, and others do the same. It is more about the company, than the food.
Question: Do the meat and eggs from different chicken breeds taste the same? I want to raise Rhode Island Reds(the production type)and Cornish for eggs and meat. I was wondering, has anyone ever had chicken meat and/or eggs from different breeds? Will the meat from the Rhode Islands taste the same as the meat from the Cornish?
Answer: Actually it depends on what they are fed and also wether or not they are frightened when they are killed.Frightened animals release adrenalin into their muscles ,thats why a chicken will run around without it's head, but unfortunatly hardly anybody's tasted a chicken that was killed in its sleep, except the Amish ...because thats who I learned this trick from. They very quitely open the door to the chicken coop in the middle of the night and slip a small hood(usually a sock)over the chickens head , very gently pick it up and lay it on the chopping block. The head is chopped off in one blow and amazingly the body lays still.I kinda felt sorry for the chicken until I realized that this was probably the most human way to slaughter an animal.
Question: What is it called when a person doesn't eat meat, eggs, or diary? It's for diet reasons but I still would wear leather? I don't think it's a vegetarian because I want to cut out Meat, Dairy, and Eggs.
Answer: I would still say vegetarian because you're only cutting out dairy and meat.. and vegans don't consume ANY animal by-products. veganism isn't just about cutting out meat and diary, there are many other animal ingredients you'd be consuming therefore you're not a vegan.
and vegans don't wear leather.
Question: Eggs are considered a meat yet they are in the dairy section of supermarkets? Eggs are meat because of its high amount of protein but they are in the dairy section. Why?
Answer: Nutritionally, they are akin to meat as far as protein content.
In the US, they are sold in the dairy dept. b/c of custom, and people equate eggs and milk w/ a farm.
In Europe, eggs are sold on the shelf (no refrigeration) by the baking supplies. They are actually safe at room temp.
Question: What do you call a person who doesn't eat meat, eggs, and dairy? I know vegans don't eat meat or anything else that came from an animal. So, what do you call someone that doesn't eat any of the meat, eggs, and dairy but really doesn't try to avoid other animal products, including the ones in non-edible items?
Answer: Strict vegetarian or dietary vegan.
Question: Is it unethical to serve a vegetarian/vegan meal while claiming that it DOES contain meat/eggs/dairy? Would it be considered wrong to be deliberately deceptive about the contents and ingredients of a meal, whatever the case and for whatever reason?
What if you just didn't mention that it's vegetarian/vegan and it was ASSUMED to contain meat/eggs/dairy?
Would this be different than serving a meal that contains meat/eggs/dairy while claiming it (or having it assumed) to be vegetarian/vegan?
Answer: If you served a vegan meal and someone makes an assumption about it w/o asking the cook, that's their fault.
If you lie about what you put it it (or didn't), it's your fault. And unethical.
But if you serve Eggplant Parmesan to a vegan, they shoudl know w/o you saying a word that the cheese is an animal product. Nothing wrong w/ that on your part, unless they ask and you lie and say it's tofu cheese.
If you say "this is vegetarian/vegan" but it really contains chicken stock, that is wrong. If they dont' ask, and you don't offer it up, it's fine. Maybe they'd just rather eat a decent meal (for once! ha!) and let themselves pretend it's vegan.
Question: What percentage of chickens used for resources are used for eggs, and meat? of all the chickens used for resources (killed or not) what percentage are used for their eggs and what % for their meat?
Answer: Chicken farms raise layers for eggs and also hens for meat. The percentage would probably be 50% for both.
Question: Would it be unethical to serve a vegetarian/vegan meal while claiming that it DOES contain meat/eggs/dairy? Is it considered wrong to be deliberately deceptive about the contents and ingredients of a meal, whatever the case and for whatever reason?
What if you just didn't mention that it's vegetarian/vegan and it was ASSUMED to contain meat/eggs/dairy?
Would this be different than serving a meal that contains meat/eggs/dairy while claiming it (or having it assumed) to be vegetarian/vegan?
Answer: If you said that the meal contained ingredients that it, in fact, did not actually contain it would be a lie. If lying is unethical to you, then yes it is unethical to do that. However, if you didn't mention the ingredients at all it wouldn't be.
However, I'd be wary of revealing the truth in an "I got you" kind of way. I'm a long time vegan and I've seen non-vegans get pretty upset when they're tricked. They could use the whole thing as a justification for tricking you in the future, and you don't want that.
I'd recommend saying "Try this and see if you can tell whether or not it has meat/eggs/dairy in it."
Question: my body temperature increasing and also acidity due to over eating of eggs, milk, meat.how can i reduce heat? i am very thin.to increase my weight i am eating eggs, milk, chicken meat .due this my body temperature is increasing so much and also acidity in the stomach.can u plzzz suggest me the food or any thing which can reduce my body temperature n acidty.
Answer: just eating protein is not enough to add muscle tissue to your body. it needs to be accompanied by excersize. at any rate you dont need to eat more than about 200-300 gr of protein a day, and need to excersize to turn that protein into muscle tissue. you need to do heavy muscle building excersizes.
you also might have a tendency to develop hyperuricemia, you better check that out and if it's true, you'll have to lower your protein intake.
Question: what has to happen for you to get food poisoning from eggs or meat? what other foods give you food poisoning? what has to happen for you to get food poisoning from a food like meat or eggs? if its raw meat will you definitely get food poisoning or only if it is infected with salmonella or something? meat left out over night?
Answer: actually, you can get food poisoning from anything. NOT just meat and eggs. If you do not wash produce good, you can get it. If foods are prepared in unsanitary kitchens, you can get it.
Eggs will get salmonella if left out for long periods of a time even if unopened. HOwever leaving them on the counter for 8 - 12 hours will not hurt them. I sometimes forget to put them up, and they are still good.
Under cooked meat, raw meat, etc can cause food poisoning but only if it has been mis handled.
The major cause is people going to the bathroom and NOT WASHING their hand before returning to their job.
the second major cause is foods being left to thaw too long before cooking and misjudgement being used on to cook it or not.
Sushi will cause food poisoning. Why because it is uncooked fish and fish products.
Question: what kind of vegetarian are you if you drink cow milk and eat fish but no birds, eggs or meat? YOu know like lacto vegetarian
lacto-ovo vegeterian
pescitarian ETC..
What kind of vegeterian am i if i am willing to drink cow milk and eat fish but not red meat, birds, and eggs?
Answer: You'd be a pescetarian that doesn't eat eggs. I suppose a lacto-pescetarian would be the Latin-based "title."
Question: Catholics: are eggs considered meat during lent or any other time? I am just wondering if we are allowed to eat eggs on Fridays?
I considerate meat because it comes from chickens - but now i'm confused because someone told me that eggs don't count.
Answer: It is perfectly ok to eat eggs on Fridays of Lent.
Remember, as Catholics we do not eat flesh on Fridays of Lent because it was on a Friday that Our Lord offered His own flesh in His Passion and death on the Cross.
God bless'
Question: Is it healthy to just eat meat, eggs and cheese? i know you can lose a lot of weight on atkins , but i was wondering is that healthy if i just eat eggs, cheese and meat?
and i workout a lot is that bad if i have no carbs? will i pass out?
Answer: No, it's not healthy for you to eat such a limited diet, especially not for an extended period f time. People need minerals, vitamins, and other nutrients that are not provided by such a det and require carbs to fuel them.
You'll be much better off carefully controlling portion size and eating a varied and balanced diet.
Question: Could I be allergic to eggs and meat? I am lactose intolerant. But that is just about besides the point. My whole life all dairy products have made me sick. I understand now why I get sick when I eat milk products, but can someone explain why I get massive headaches with eggs? Also, I get sick when I eat meat. I get weird headaches and sometimes migrains. It's usually meats that are mixed that cause this, you know processed. Any input could help.
Answer: I also am lactose intolerant. I too get sick now with meats. Usually my stomach feels really icky and upset then here comes the migraine. I don't have migrains any more because I saw on the discovery channel that when your body is concentrated with something it doesn't like the result could be a migrain, they said drink plenty of water when you eat and during the day. I really didn't think that would work. But I'm living proof that is does and so is my son. Try it, I know it sounds strange.
Question: Just witnessed Blue/green flies, on my meat in my pasta sauce, they left eggs, is this now safe to eat? Just walked into the kitchen to see several flies (Of a metallic green/blue colour) on my pasta sauce (with mince meat in it - I read they lay eggs on meat). I scooped out most of the eggs, but there may still be some remaining that I haven't seen. Is the sauce safe to eat? And will it help if I boil it first?
This is not about whether or not YOU would eat it, is it safe to eat? there are no visible eggs anymore, and would a boil solve the POTENTIAL eggs?
Answer: It's not GREAT to have flies on your food, but it's not the eggs you really need to worry about. Flies can carry bacteria on their little feet from all the stuff they've landed on all day long. And we all know what flies like to land on - pretty gross to think about.
That being said, if none of us ate food that flies had been on at one point we would all starve to death - they are everywhere. If you can help it, generally try to keep flies off your food by covering it, but a fly or two here and there is not a big deal and won't make you sick.
Question: What kind of sauce should I use at mongolian barbeque if I want meat and eggs? I don't really know what kind of sauce would be good with a breakfast kind of dish like meat and eggs. I'm going to make a meaty omelette.
Answer: eggs go best with a spicy sauce, choose some hoisin or tiger sauce, you could also use some korean kochujang or Thai sriracha sauce
