Fitness Information
Question: What's a good source of information online for nutritional and fitness information? I want to start getting in shape but i don't have a clue on what i should eat or what kind of exercises i should do and when to do them. Is there a website where i can lookup health information and exercise plans? I looked on webmd is that a good resource?
Answer: Exercising helped me to lose a load of weight once I joined it along with using acai berry. I understand they say that pills will not work, but they certainly worked for me, and they have been featured on CBS News too. There is a free trial going on right now at http://farihets.worldcom.bz , why not check it out, why not?
Question: Where can i find this very specific piece of fitness information? Does anyone know where i could find an elite badminton players fitness results for tests like the bleep test? Like what i should try searching or any useful websites.
Answer: Google it.
Question: Where can I find information about fitness and exercise in Europe? I'm doing a school project in which I have to discuss exercise and fitness in Europe. Does anyone know of any good sites or anything like that that will give me information on European fitness? I'm looking for pretty basic information, like popular leisure sports, popular exercise techniques, how often people exercise on average etc.
Answer: I would suggest you to give a search in Google. I am sure you would get a host of options to choose from.
Question: Do you know any sites to help me look up information on Fitness and Wellness/Aerobic and Anaerobic? I need a site where I can find through information that I can understand easily
to things like
-What activities can be aerobic or anaerobic depending on how you perform them?
-What are the six parts of fitness that help you perform well in sports and other activities?
Answer: OK, well, I know A LOT about fitness and nutrition, and I didn't know fitness was divided into 'parts'...nor that there were six of them, I'm just busting on you...nevermind...
Well, the best book on nutrition and fitness I've ever read is "burn the fat, feed the muscle"...you can find it if you search for it or for tom venuto, the book's author. It's an e-book and it will cost you (it's pretty cheap though).
Of course, you can find it for free in file sharing programs... (though you didn't hear this from me ;-)...
If you really want to skip all the trouble of searching for stuff on the net, read that book. I'll warn you, it's a long book, it has close to 300 pages if I remember correctly, but it starts out very simple so EVERYONE (even a person who doesn't know what the heck a carb is) can understand it, but goes very in-depth into the mechanisms of diet and weight-loss. So yes, the book is long, but if you go download it right now, it'll save you from the troubles of having to search through the net (which will probably get you VERY MISINFORMED anyway on your quest to real honest info) and will give you the tools you need to reach your fitness goals
Question: What is your favorite piece of fitness mis-information? Among my favorites are detox-diet scams and spot-fat-reduction. What information is out there that makes you chuckle every time you see it because it is so utterly ludicrous?
Answer: All the ab equipment that they say will give you six pack abs. I absolutely love the fact that they skip over the two essentials to a perfect stomach, cardio and a healthy balanced diet.
Basically in general any fitness "expert" that doesn't teach how its diet, resistance training, and cardio that builds a perfectly healthy body.
Oh, Oh I forgot to mention diet pills. I don't even know where to begin with that one!

Question: LA fitness keeps calling me asking me to update my account information? I haven't gone to LA fitness in over a year, I canceled my membership. I had a personal training contract as well, which has ended by now though. Everytime they call and say they are from LA fitness and ask me to update account information I hang up. Is this bad? Do you think I may owe them money, and could this mess up my credit? Or are they just calling to try to get me to join them again?
Answer: Your best bet is to read your contract you had with them. Maybe you owe them money or there might be a specific clause you missed. In any event, next time they call ask them for their phone number and you will have the person they want to talk to call them back. Just to make sure it is not a scam.
What ever you do, do not give any personal information over the phone. Go in person if need be.
Question: Who wants free personal diet and fitness information? Simple, free and personal. I have a diploma in fitness and nutrition and I am starting my own business. Check out my blog and get to know me. Read it and e-mail questions and I will answer for you. If I do not know, I will find out. I am real person who can help you reach your goals.

Question: Does anyone have any information regarding the major sports and fitness administration? I'm a freshman at Fullerton college and basically all I know about what I want to do is to be involved in sports and the business aspect of it. Does anyone have any information about what courses I should take or what kind of jobs I should be trying to get? Any information at all would be much appreciated.
Answer: Your key words are sports and business, with emphasis on business. Things you could do are front office work, being a player agent, go into sports marketing, or sales. There are others, but these jump out immediately. A nose for talent would be beneficial.
Courses in business, marketing, sales, accounting, and office administration would head you in the right direction. I don't know about Fullerton College, but loading up on Physical Fitness courses (over time) would also be beneficial.
You might consider getting your foot in the door and gain experience with a local school, or perhaps a minor league team in the area.
Question: Would anyone pay to use a website containing the most information on martial arts and fitness on the net? this would include info on ALL styles(constant updates obviously), on martial arts film, nutrition, fitness, philosophy and general personal development. it would also contain a section where any question could be asked and an answer would always be given--eventually.

I am an amatuer mma fighter and have trained 2 other amatuer mma fighters . I would like to start training others in the sport I love and develop fighters through their career. any information on license, business plan outlines....etc would be greatly appreciated. Thank you to everyone who answers.
Answer: The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.
I recommend checking out the SBA, Entrepreneur, The Start Up Journal & Nolo. All 4 are great informational resources for the new/small business owner. I posted links for you in the source box.
Associations may be a good avenue to explore. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links.
Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can about the industry. Here are some book titles that are relevant:
* Gym Biz: Starting and Running Your Own Gym for Profit by Lou Ravelle
* Small Club Start-up: A Personal Trainer's Guide by Ron Fay
* The Business of Fitness: Understanding the Financial Side of Owning a Fitness Business by Thomas Plummer
* Making Money in the Fitness Business by Thomas Plummer
I also posted links to some free articles in the source box.
Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!
Question: What must a information system do to solve the problem of a fitness club to track member's partciapation? Can someone please help me with this question? Please no negative comments!
Answer: First you would need to give everyone an access card with one of those magnetic strips. I'm sure you've seen one. They are similar to ATM cards used for Bank Machines. This card will contain the members information. Next you put a door with an electronic lock and each time a member enters the club he/she must swipe their card to enter. So each time the member enters the club, the card reader on the door will record the members info. When the member leaves, arrange it so he/she must also swipe the card to exit. So now you have electronic records with how long a member is inside the club.
