Fruit Acid
Question: I drink 1 glass of V8 juice everyday. Will it ruin my stomach as its got fruit acid? If i drink it everyday (1 glass during the afternoon) like what ive been doing for a year or so now can the acid in it be harming my stomach lining?
Can too much of this good thing be bad?
Answer: Your stomach is lined for that purpose, the fruit acid is nothing compared to the acids your stomach secretes, so stop worrying, nothing is going to happen.
Question: What fruit juice acid is most like stomach acid? Like what juice from a fruit is most like the acids in a humans stomach? I'm doing a science fair project and need to know... I've heard it was either lemon juice or grapefruit please tell me....
Answer: Lemon and grapefruits have the same acid: citric. The only difference might be in concentration. Stomach (gastric) acid is mainly hydrochloric acid, which is a *much* stronger acid than citric.
Question: How to whiten skin when its get to darken because of fruit acid?
Answer: There are several cremes you can use the bleach your skin. But I MUST tell you this REALLY should be RX'ed to you from a Dr. And what I mean bythis is that. YOU DO NOT need a script from ur Dr. to get it but its safer if you speak with your PCP before this. At times this can be unsafe.
Question: How does the acid in a fruit become weaker? Example: If a fruit is fresher will it have less acid in it?
Example: If a fruit is older will it have less acid in it?
Thnx
Answer: The fresher the fruit the more acid content it has.
So the less acid the fruit has, the older it is.
If you think about a banana, it doesn't taste very good if it is green, but if you wait unit it is ripe, it is sweeter (less acidic).
Hope this helps.
Question: How can I prevent itchy sores on my lips caused by the acid in fruit? I generally have very sensitive skin. When I eat most kinds of fruit I end up with these itchy red bumps on my lips that can last up to an hour. How can I prevent this, other than avoiding fruit or having to cut it up into bite-sized pieces.
Answer: Yes you can with taking an anacid with before eating and then after. I have the same problem with some fruits and veggies. I put a rolaid inside my lip and let it desolve if I forget to take it before.
Question: Why the more acid in a fruit, the more electricity? I did an experiment where I used a lemon, pear and a potato to figure out which not only conducted the most electricity, but also figured out that the more electricity the fruit has, the more acid it has. (lower pH)
Can anyone help me ?
ASAP?
thanking in advance :)
(this is due tomorrow by the way.)
Answer: The more acidic the fruit, the more ions available to conduct the current. The potato juice is water and starch, there are no ionic compounds (like citric acid) which can dissociate into ions to help conduct the current.
Question: Does eatting acid fruit make a girl smell better 'down there'? I heard that eatting pineapple and drinking cranberry juice, stuff like that, will make a girl smell better in the private regions. Just wondering if thats true.
Answer: I know that eating fish can make us smell fishy. Some people say that vegetarians smell better there. So maybe pineapple and cranberries would change things too.
Question: Which fruit contains more citric acid - a lemon or a lime? This is for a chemistry lab.
I need a straight answer. Some people say lemons have more citric acid, some say limes have more, and some say that the two fruits have practically the same amount. Does anyone know for sure?
If possible, please post your source.
Answer: I think lemons do.
I don't think that helped very much... but I hoped I helped anyways. ^.^
Question: How do I find how much acid is in fruit juice? I need to find out how much acid is in apple juice, lemon juice, grape juice, and orange juice for my science fair project how do i do that?
Answer: ACID: you mean what acid?
I think you need to know th percentage of alcohol in each fruit
You can get the %age by test: the %age will vary fruit to fruit, the method we are using for ripe, the variety, place it is grown & etc
Question: What is a Natural Indicator that is a acid-base Indicator and I can prepare from a flower or a fruit? Hi guys! I have a little Question for homework.
Is it possible if someone could give me an idea of an acid-base Indicator that I can prepare at home? oh and it has to be made from either a (Fruit or a Flower)
If you find one could please List the following:
Website (hopefully with the recipe do create it)
Thank You so much for the help everyone!
Answer: My first thought was to use red cabbage, by boiling it in water and using the liquid, but I don't think cabbage will count as a fruit!
Here is a website that lists different household substances that can be used to make a pH indicator:
http://antoine.frostburg.edu/chem/senese/101/acidbase/faq/household-indicators.shtml
Fruits listed include grapes, cranberries, blueberries, and rhubarb. Flowers include geranium, morning glory, delphinium, pansy, petunia, purple peony, and rose petals.
You can make them by boiling the fruit or flower petal in a small amount of water (just enough to cover). Simmer until the water is deeply colored, and then strain out the pieces of fruit/flower petals.
Question: Other fruit acids which could be a potential source of citric acid?

Question: If acid from citrus fruit and caffeine from coffee wears down tooth enamel over time, can't enzymes in saliva? The other day ( I made him go) my husband went to the dentist. After we left and grabbed a bite to eat, this random question popped into my head.
Answer: Most likely not. If anything, the minerals in saliva contain minute amounts of fluoride that can actually help mineralize the enamel. The enzyme, amylase, is responsible for breaking down starches in your food.
Question: is the fruit acid peel advisable in the treatment of rosacea?
Answer: No, it's not.
You need to be kind to your skin if you have rosacea. I've had it and it's tough to keep from flaring up, because it's a disease of the nervous system, not of the skin.
I've added a link below to help you.
