Fruits Vegetables Healthy Eating
Question: eating only fruits & vegetables healthy? Lately, I've only been eating fruits & vegetables. Nothing processed. I was just wondering if that was good or if by eating too many fruits and veggies I may be actually doing bad.
Is this healthy?
Answer: It's good, but you do need protein in your diet. Try some kidney beans in your salads. Tuna in salad is good too. There are so many good veggies and beans, seeds that are wonderful with veggies.
Question: How can I buy fresh fruits & vegetables & eat healthy if I can't afford it? I'm on the EXTREMELY low income scale, & I find that unhealthy foods are cheaper & more readily available than healthy foods, & organic healthy foods are eve MORE expensive. I'd like to change my diet & eat right because my life is on the line. My health is at risk.I seriously find myself living off of HotPockets, corn dogs, & cereal & occasional unhealthy snacks. After paying all my bills, like rent & utilities, I only have like $60 for the month to stretch for food, & that's not good. I receive SSI & Social Security & I'm disabled, & if I work, I'll lose my medical benefits & insurance.
If I buy fruits & veggies alone, that would come up to like $45, & I just found out I'm anemic & my iron is low, so I was told I have to have meat & food from the breads & cereals group in my diet in order to increase my iron level.
Do you have any advice?
Answer: healthy and fresh does not mean expensive.
`buy brown rice. a pound of rice is usually around $1
`buy beans, a pound of dry beans is $1
and the canned beans are anywhere from 40-89 cents
beans are very nutritious, high in protein, iron and so many good stuff and low in fat and calories. and cheap
you can make lots of meals with beans like, bean dip, bean tacos with veggies, bean and rice burritos etc..
`tofu-verryyy high in protein and low in fat, $2 a block, and so many things to do with is like stir frys, in salad, sanwhiches, eaten raw, grilled, etc...
`buy a bag of potatoes, which is cheap and you can make lots of foods with them like you can make "French fries", baked potatoes, potato jacket, mashed potatoes, potatoes w/rice, etc..
`oatmeal-this is a really filling meal/healthy and makes an amazing breakfast! about $1-2 for 2 lbs.
`whole grain pasta, make spaghetti, macaroni salad, etc..
`whole wheat/whole grain bread; to make sandwiches, toast, etc..
`whole wheat tortillas to make burritos, veggie wraps, etc..
`soy milk and a healthy cereal box
`frozen vegetables are pretty cheap!
` buy 2lbs of mixed nuts to grab as snacks on the go and mixed dry fruit//very cheap and nutritious!
***********fruits and veggies!!!!!!!!!1**
get the fruits& veggies that are in season cause they are usually cheaper..
buy the store brand..don't buy junk foods and soda..it's more expensive and soo unhealthy.
think about it, a bag of chips is $1 and you eat the whole bag as a snack. and for $1 you can buy 3-5 apples, that is like one snack per day for a whole week!and they won't make you fat or give you diabetes! ...
drinking soda is a WASTE in every way..your wallet, your health, space, everythingg...
good luck xxoxoxoxoxox
Question: What are healthy eating choices if i don't eat fruits or vegetables? I rarely eat fruits and the only vegetable i eat are potatoes. Is there anyway i can still eat healthy?
Answer: You have to eat fruits and vegetables. They provide essential nutrients and fiber to your diet. You could possibly replace some fruits with fresh fruit juice - if it's really fresh. But the bottom line is that if you don't eat lots of fruits and vegetables, you aren't making healthy eating choices. Period. And potatoes don't count.
Question: Is eating only fruits & vegetables unhealthy or healthy? There are 33 students in my class, 31 of them got from 64-82% on a final-exam, the other 2 students both got 95%. I asked the 2 students what their diets were, and both of them said they only eat vegetables & fruit. I always thought that eating meat, drinking milk, eating bread, and pasta, and having a well-balanced diet was the healthiest thing to do, but after this data.... I'm kind of wondering if society is just trying to kill us off or something.....
Answer: Eating only fruits and vegetables is healthy, but only to a certain degree. Your bones need sufficient calcium to be strong, and fruits and veggies do not provide this. You need to drink some sort of milk, or eat milk-based products in order to receive enough calcium. You DO need protein to keep your muscles functioning properly, however, it depends on where you're getting that protein from. Red meats are delicious, however, they aren't healthy choices. They should be a once in a while treat, but not something you have all the time. Other meats like chicken, turkey, and fish are very healthy. Fish is particularly healthy because it provides protein with little fat, AND fish like salmon contain Omega 3's, which have been proven to greatly improve brain function. There are also Omega 3 fish oil capsules you can take which are almost as good. Either way, you still need your protein and your calcium. Society may be out to get us in some ways, but it is a fact that a well-balanced diet is completely necessary.
Question: Is eating only fruits and vegetables healthy?
Answer: No. You need protein as well. Add protein and yes.
Question: Is it healthy to only eat fruits and vegetables? i'm 6'2 209 pounds. trying to drop weight, is it safe to only eat fruits and vegetables, im only doing this for 2 weeks just to get my body used to eating healthy. helpp!
Answer: You shouldn't eat JUST fruits and veggies. Although fruits and veggies are essential for eating right, you need to include other foods into your diet. Fruits are high in sugar. It IS natural sugar (sucrose and fructose) but it is still sugar none-the-less.
Try to incorporate other foods into your diet. You should still eat meat (if you eat meat that is) or alternatives, dairy products, and carbs (bread, cereal, etc)
You need everything to be able to eat healthily, or else you'll do yourself more harm than good by JUST eating fruits and veggies.
Just try a "balanced diet"
Hope this helps.
Question: Can a person maintain a healthy life by just eating fruits and vegetables? Can he/she function normally and healthily in daily life?
Answer: I don't think so, unless they eat eggs. because although the veggies and fruits are healthy, you need to be able to have access to protein.
Question: Is it healthy to eat lots of raw fruits and vegetables? Fruits, healthy food, vegetable for good health.
Answer: Raw Fruits and Vegetables
Are Healthy Raw fruit and vegetable consumption is beneficial to the human body. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, these foods consist of vitamins, minerals and fiber the body needs to stay healthy and fend off diseases. Eat fruits and vegetables in a wide variety of colors, such as green lettuce or spinach, yellow corn, red grapes, orange tangerines and carrots and purple plums. Not all fruits and vegetables have to be eaten plain, either. Include chopped onion in lettuce salads and watermelon or cantaloupe in fruit salads.
Too Many Raw Fruits and Vegetables Aren't Healthy There is such a thing as overeating raw fruits and vegetables, however. The raw food oriented website, Healthfree.com, warns against eating so many raw foods your stomach feels over-full or uncomfortable. In some cases, these foods can also make the body retain weight or keep someone from losing weight. Dr. Terese Scollard of Providence.org suggests only eating 2 cups of fruit per day and up to 2 1/2 cups of vegetables per day.
Question: Can i live healthy by just eating meat and fruits ,but no vegetables at all? i love fruits but i can't stand vegetables at all,all i eat is every animal that is meant to be eaten and fruits but no vegetables at all.
Answer: It's best to eat a variety of foods, including vegetables, and there's no question that they're beneficial for your health. But I'm 25 years old and share the same opinion you do. I've never liked vegetables and it worries me. I went and had a complete physical, including drawing blood to check my levels of every imaginable chemical, vitamin and nutrient value, and so far so good. Talk to your doctor, have a complete physical work-up, and see what you find.
Question: What vegetables and fruits are best to eat when on a healthy eating diet? whats more likely to help me in loosing weight/be most nutritious etc.?
Answer: All fruits and veggies are good for you, but if you're going for highest nutrition, you want to pick the ones that are darkest in color. Broccoli and spinach, for instance, are dark green. This makes them healthier than iceberg lettuce.
Try to eat at least one color each day (green, red, yellow, orange, purple) to get all of the nutrients available. So, you could eat an orange for breakfast, spinach salad with tomatoes for lunch, and grilled chicken breast with onions and yellow bell peppers for dinner, with purple grapes for dessert, you'll have covered all of your colors.
Pair this with whole grains, lean meats, and lots of water, and you'll be golden!
Question: Is it healthy to eat only fruits, vegetables, dairy and protein? provided you get necessary nutrients from vegetables that are found in grains (since you won't be eating grains)
Answer: A well balanced diet consists of legumes and whole grains for protein. Dairy is not a good food despite what you hear from hundreds of millions of dollars in advertising spent each year. The food pyramid was devised by a counsel receiving funds from the meat and dairy industries.
The best source of calcium, minerals, and enzymes is leafy green vegetables.
There is no need for dairy and the protein (casein) has been strongly correlated with cancers.
Question: Is eating fruit just as healthy as eating vegetables? like i do not like eating greens but I absolutely love fruit...is one healthier than the other?
Answer: Fruit is full of sugar (fructose) and NO, fructose is NOT any healthier than other forms of sugar. Sugar is sugar, no matter what form it comes in and that includes honey. Honey, in fact, is 99% pure sucrose, which is the same thing as table sugar. Vegetables are the best because they are rich in vitamins and also complex carbohydrates for fiber which do not add significantly to your weight. Vegetables are also about 95% water, on the average, another good reason why.
Question: Is drinking juice from fresh fruit and vegetables from a juice extractor as healthy as eating fruit/vegetables?
Answer: It's not as healthy. Juicers extract just the juice and leave behind the solids. Those solids are full of nutrients and fiber. Fiber is great for you but it also helps fill you up. It's easy to consume too many calories and sugars with juice.
Also, the natural fruit sugars from juice hit you faster than when they are packaged up in the fiber of a whole fruit. This big sugar rush gives some people a hunger rebound.
Question: Will my acne go away if I stop eating fried things and only fruits and vegetables? I want my skin to be soft and oil free, l'm a guy so what I still want to have soft skin! better than having acne, my acne is kind of curing because I'm taking prescribed cremes they work wonders, but my acne will come back if I eat oily things so is it healthy to just eat fruits and vegetables? no oily things?
Answer: It may not make it all go away, but it will help! Try to eliminate the grease, fatty things, and junk food out of your everyday diet. Drink as much water as you can, too! And when I say that, I mean CHUG IT! The water will help your skin. I too have pimples! Make sure to wash your face in the morning and before you go to bed (and maybe in the afternoon). If you have long hair, tie it up when you work out and go to sleep, because the oils and that might add more acne. If you have bangs, you may want to reconsider those too, since the oils and heat may cause even MORE acne! Follow this, and it may just help! Hope I helped!
PS. Use a good cleanser and acne pimple cream on the certain tough spots!
Question: I am trying to have a very healthy diet with mostly row fruits and vegetables and eating just a bit of meat... ...once in a while because I have some anemia. It´s not a doctor thing, just trying to be healthy. What other food and in what quantity should I make sure to have in order to be strong and healthy? Thanks a lot!
Answer: Leafy greens are high in iron, like spinach, asparagus, and broccoli.
Also nuts and most kinds of dried beans.
Question: What do you think about the Atkins diet?Is it healthy eating so many proteins and no fruits and vegetables?
Answer: I think the healthiest thing is to eat a variety of good for you food. All those diets that cut out certain food groups are bogus. I think it is just WRONG!! All the food groups have certain vitamins or minerals we NEED for our bodies.
