Healthy Weight Loss
Question: Is this healthy weight loss, and other suggestions? I'm 21, and was 230 pounds about 2-3 weeks ago, I have been dieting since then and am at 225 now. I do a light to moderate amount of physical activity. Anyways, I've been consistently eating approx 1500-1700 calories daily for my weight loss. I am in college so it is often difficult to find healthy food, but I am eating mostly fruits and vegetables, tuna, and having lunch meat or bagel sandwitches and running 2-3 days a week.
So thats what I doing, could I be doing anything better, or am I doing something not as good as I should. Is that too little calories too eat for my size or can I reduce them even more. Should I be eating other types of food, vitamins, etc.
Just looking for some good general advice.
Answer: Thats a good amount of calories. try running 5 days a week for 20-25 mins. To make sure your getting all your nutrients, take a multivitamin, like flinstones! (yes, even if your 21) and drink atleast 4-5 bottles of water a day. Acquire a taste to green tea and have 2 cups in the morning and 2 at night. The tea bags from lipton are great that come in a box. Best of luck and keep up the good work :)
ps. Try the Turbo Jam dvds, the 5 workout set. Their great, and a great variety from abs to cardio to sculpting!
Question: Does eating broccoli & fish & mushrooms sound like a healthy weight loss meal for lunch? Does eating broccoli & fish & mushrooms sound like a healthy weight loss meal for lunch?
I read somewhere that broccoli makes your stomach bloat? Is that just temporary or does it not help me in getting a flat stomach?
I do yoga regularly on top of watching my diet. It's just that there's only crap food around my office area so I think it's time to cook at home and microwave at work.
Answer: Broccoli is good for your health, but it does make your stomach bloat. You can eat salad instead of broccoli if it bothers you about the bloat. If it does not, it is just temporary
Question: Is whole oatmeal with fruit a healthy weight-loss breakfast? i am on a diet n started excercising but found out eggs arent that great in diets so i switched to 1/2 cup of whole oatmeal w fruit for breakfast after my morning jogs. is that healthy for weight loss or is it too much? <3 thanks a mil!
Answer: Whole oatmeal is great for a healthy breakfast. Try adding a handful of almonds or walnuts to the oatmeal. The extra fiber and protein will help you feel fuller all morning long. Also, a 1/2 a cup of low fat or fat free milk gives you protein and calcium, both necessary after a morning workout.
Having a good breakfast revs up your metabolism for the entire day, helping you burn more calories during the day.

Question: What are some recipes for a healthy weight loss smoothie or shake? I am looking for a couple of recipes for a healthy breakfast smoothie or shake. I am looking to lose weight. I love fruit smoothies or anything that has a coffee flavor or chocolate flavor. Please send me your recipes.
Answer: More and more spend hundred and even thousands of dollars yearly on weight loss supplements in the hope of speeding up their metabolism. The main desire is to be attractive and accepted but it is becoming a more difficult goal to achieve. The fitness industry is booming but still a lot of people are unable to cut those fat in spite of all the exercise and diet efforts. In America, more than sixty per cent of adults are overweight and thirty per cent are considered obese. This is because: one, a lot of weight loss products promises unrealistic goals; two, dietary supplement manufacturers rely on the overweight person’s failure to survive; and three, the information about the supplements in the market are just written by themselves just to make a sell.

Question: Healthy weight loss while breast feeding? I have a 1 month old and am breast feeding. I would like to slowly start losing some of those extra pounds of fat I put on while pregnant and was wondering what was a safe rate of weight loss while breast feeding. To lose weight I plan on focusing on eating especially healthy (no junk), and going on stroller walks.
Answer: Sounds like you have the right idea--between eating sensibly, walking, and breatfeeding, that should take care of the baby weight. It's important not to diet while you are breastfeeding, because your body needs the extra calories to produce an adequate milk supply.
Question: What is a healthy weight loss goal for a 14 year old girl? I weigh 122 pounds and am 5'3.
What's a healthy weight to aim for?
Answer: At your age, height and weight, weight loss shouldn't be your goal, muscle tone should be as it will set you up to have a slim body for life.
Aim to be a size 4-8 dress size by exercising alternating between weight training and cardio. In this way you can look and feel slimmer and burn fat rather than loose weight. Much more important. At your current weight if you loose any more 'weight' it could be important muscle mass that you need to proper hormone development an fat burning.
Question: what is a normal healthy weight loss in a months time? I had a baby nine months ago and was almost 300 lbs when I had her. I now am 238 and feel great! In about three or four months ive lost 20 + lbs and I'm just wondering what is a healthy weight to lose each month?
Answer: 2lbs is fine, maybe 4, but not beyond.
If you loose more than this, you will gain them back quickly.
Question: are they're any healthy weight loss pills out there that actually work? I workout about 4 times a week and i was just wondering if there are any safe weight loss supplements that can help me along. Im just afraid because i know that some are dangerous and i care about my health.
Answer: Diet Pills can help you to speed the process and it needs to combine with a realistic weight loss plan. With these, you will be able to achieve your ideal weight sooner.
The effective way to lose weight without worrying much about negative side effects is adhering to the intake of natural or organic weight loss supplements.
In addition, it is important that before you get ready to shed off those extra pounds in your body with weight loss drugs, make sure that you buy diet pills from genuine dealers.
Some good choice of diet pills will be Proactol, Phentermine, Hoodia and Chitosan

Question: Whats a healthy, weight loss diet for a 14 year old girl? I really want to lose about 30 pounds from my weight and i need help but i don't want to go unhealthy. i weigh 152 and i should weigh 120 i believe... wats a perfect, healthy diet i should follow and if it means i need to exercise (which i know i do) tell me how long each day and how many days a week.
Answer: Diet Plans for 14-Year-Old Girls
Planning a diet for a teen girl can be tricky. Many teen girls suffer from bad self esteem or a skewed body image, and may resort to crash diets that they don't need to be healthy. Instead of suggesting a diet, suggest a healthy diet plan, where she can learn to eat properly, along with exercise to create a healthier self image. As long as your teen has a healthy body mass index, or BMI, then she does not need a diet to lose weight. A diet plan that can maintain her health is all that she needs.
Planning a Diet
1. When your 14-year-old girl indicates that she wants to eat healthier, or you've noticed her body changing, it's important to calculate her BMI to see where she falls. Unlike adult BMI, a teen's BMI is calculated and then compared to other teens to give a percentile that she is in for her weight and height, much like you'd receive at the doctor's office. The BMI can give you a clue as to whether she simply needs a diet plan to eat more healthy, or if she'll need a diet plan for weight loss. With a healthy BMI, your 14-year-old girl will enjoy better quality of life.
Regular Meals and Snacks
2. One of the most important things to incorporate into a 14-year-old girl's diet plan is regular meals and snacks throughout the day. Teenagers are especially susceptible to skipping meals like breakfast and lunch: the first because she's running late, and the second due to pressure from peers to eat as little as possible. However, skipping meals sends your 14-year-old's body into starvation mode, telling it to store up fat for the next skipped meal. Eating regular meals actually causes a teen's metabolism to run faster, burning more calories in preparation for the next snack. Talk to her about the importance of regular eating, both for maintaining energy, concentration and focus through the day, and as an important tool for weight loss.
Better Meals and Snacks
3. Too often teen girls eat meals and snacks that are less than ideal. While you want her to eat regularly, you also want her to eat quality food that will help her on her quest for a healthier diet. Make it easy for her by supporting her diet. Send her to school with a variety of healthy snacks like nuts, vegetables and crackers to snack on between school periods, and opt for a homemade lunch over cafeteria fare, which can be greasy and unhealthy. Talk to her about staying full with the right foods, those that are high in nutrients, but still low in fat and calories. Armed with the right information, your 14-year-old girl can follow a diet plan to keep her healthy, and gain eating tools to help her for the rest of her life.

Question: I am looking for a healthy weight loss program that is fairly easy and doesn't involve deprivation. ? I am 19 years old, I would like something that doesn't require physical activity to start off with and is fairly easy for a college student who doesn't have immense amounts of time to spend planning and organizing. I am looking to lose 90 to 100 lbs. I know that it won't be easy or quick, but I am looking for something healthy. Any suggestions/pointers would be helpful. Also some good exercise programs that would help!
Answer: I believe if you don't want /have to time to start with exercise immediately, than I would begin with eating alot of fruit and vegetables and drinking lots of water..just having a glass of water sitting by you at alltimes, you will be amazed at how often you reach for it and just sip on it. Still enjoy the meals you like say for lunch or supper and make the other two meals and snacks loaded with fruit and vegetables. I personally take a multi vitamin, drink lots of water and drink alot of green tea od various sorts green tea is very healthly and if you check it out can help with weight loss as well i have added a link below that may be of interest to you.

Answer: There is nothing more frustrating than not achieving the goals you set for yourself. No matter if we talk about sports achievements, professional achievements or a weight loss program. Therefore, while setting the goals for yourself, you must be realistic, and take all circumstances into account. On the other hand, you should not be too conservative, because this will only slow your progress in achieving success at fat loss.
So how will you set a realistic goals? Well, we'll start with eating an elephant! What? Eating and elephant? How? Why?! Good question: how? How would you eat an elephant? You can't eat it at once, right? You can't just swallow it, right? You can eat it as you normally eat a steak - piece by piece. Bite size pieces, I mean. And it's exactly the same when it comes to your goals. You can achieve great success at fat loss, step by step, and not trying to make too big steps at a time.
You already know that healthy eating habits are essential for success at fat loss. On the other hand, it takes time to form a habit, so why not start now with the first step: breakfast. Get up early enough to have enough time to eat your breakfast in an enjoyable way, without hurry and stress. Just make this one commitment and stick to it for one week, then for another, and still another... This is a baby step, it's manageable, it's realistic. The next step would be planning the times of your meals during the day to fit your working routine.
Your main goal is to lose that ugly fat, and get back to your lean, trim and fit body. Well, this is hell of an elephant, especially when you have also gathered pretty much fat around your belly. Again, we are going to eat this elephant piece by piece. The first step here is to find any old clothes that fit you when you bought them, but "shrunk" a bit (due to extensive washing?) over time. Find those jeans you bought a year or two ago, which are now a bit too tight. Try to put that piece of clothing on. Too tight, right? Oh, you can't even button it up... Hm... OK. Make this your first goal - lose enough fat to be able to wear those jeans again. If you don't have such old clothes at home, go to the nearest shop and ask the shop assistant to show you something one size smaller than you are. Try this on. Now make losing this one size your goal. Set the deadline of course. One month to start with? And when you reach this goal, make another smaller size your next one.
The same concerns physical activity. If you haven't been active physically for a longer time, you cannot expect being able to do all the exercises correctly at the first time. You must accept your being slower, less flexible, and less enduring than you might wish to be. Participating in every training will change that for the better, and your bite-size goal may be just participation in the next training. With time, you won't even want to miss one. If you took up jogging, start with even with 10-15 minutes with strong commitment to add another 5 minutes every week.
As you can see, you can divide a big task of losing excess fat into small steps, small goals that you can achieve on your way to success at fat loss. This concerns all aspects of fat loss, not only your eating habits and physical activity, but also learning the basics of good nutrition, keeping a regular journal, and doing it all systematically.
Also never forget two important truths: you are not in this world to prove anything to anybody, and losing weight and fat is not a race. It means, that your bite-size pieces of your goal elephant can be as small as you wish, and you can take as much time to process them as you need. Loosing fat that you've been building around your belly for years requires time, so give yourself that time. Decide that you want to lose fat, show yourself how much you want to lose as your first step, and do the step. Then take another step, and another. But DO take those steps.
Remember, you've been putting on weight for years, and you can't get rid of it in days. Accept the fact that you will need long weeks to get rid of your body fat in a healthy way. Let me repeat IN A HEALTHY WAY. And effective at the same time. So don't rush it. You want to be slim and trim and fit, and you can achieve it only in a step by step process.
