Herbal Allergy Medicine
Question: Allergies and herbal medicine... read on if you have experience with any? Am considering taking herbal medicine to help me treat or cure my allergies. If you have any information or experience with this treatment (herbal) of allergies can you please share it with me. Basically tell me any information you have pertaining herbal treatment of allergies.
Thank YOU so much in advance.
Answer: I have bad allergies, dust, grass, and trees, on top of certain drugs, and my allegra only cuts it for the dust. When spring time rolls around I'm a goner.
I start taking quercetin about 2 weeks before my seasonal allerigies kick in, usually about twice a day. Once the allergies start getting to me, I supplement with stinging nettle a couple times a day. I got the names and ideas from Dr. Weil. My allergist approved the regimen. My allergies aren't as bad for the past 4 years, which just so happens to be how long I've been taking the herbs.

Question: Interesting magic medicine? allergy to alcohol.? 35 yrs old male chronic alcoholic who took single peanut size magic/herbal pill from quack one years back to get deaddicted from alcohol came to my clinic with complaint of sever ulcerating painful lesions over skin following ingestion of alcohol (3 episodes till now). This quake has also sold that pill to many other peoples for Rs 12000/- per dose. All of them are now experiencing same reaction. I have never heard of such drug. what it could be? Can heavy metals in these herbal medicine cause such reaction?
Answer: Those are not symptoms of heavy metal poisoning or of alcohol poisoning. However, there are many other potential problems - an herb may actually have medicinal value, but be contaminated with agricultural chemicals, industrial waste or even human waste. In the absence of a sample of said herbal pill to examine for its chemical makeup, it's almost impossible to determine what's going on. I would suggest that your best approach would be to report all observed instances of untoward reaction appearing to stem from ingestion to this pill to your local health authorities, along with the identity of the individual(s) selling them.
Question: Which is the BEST allergy medicine CLARITIN or BENDRAYL?? I've tried everything possible for a cold Vicks Dayquil, Mucinex, Tylenol Cold, Airborn, regular Vicks, and herbal teas. NOthing WOrked!!!!! =( So im guessing maybe its allergies since i have a Runny nose, Sneezing too much!, watery itchy eyes, and a bit of a sore throat.
Answer: Both are good antihistamines (anti-itching, sneezing, etc) medications. Diphenhydramine, the active ingredient in Benadryl is also a sleep aid in some over the counter medications. Not everyone gets sleepy with it, but most people do. So if you are looking for a non-drowsy antihisthamine, then claritin is better. You will need to take it daily, however, in order for it to be most effective.
If you get break-through allergy symptoms, it's okay to take the benadryl at night, before bed, to help you avoid the morning congestion. It's okay to take both drugs together, as they act on different pathways . Just avoid alcohol if you are taking the benadryl, as the depression effects on alertness can be dangerous between the two.
A trip to the allergist could be in order to identify what you are specifically allergic to, and how to ameliorate the effects of those allergens (like removing feather pillows, old mattresses, etc.)
Question: Herbal help for Allergies? I did some research and? What is the closest herb pill I could take that works like allergy medicine? I wake up sneezing every day and I am constantly blowing my nose. I have read that quercitin works (when mixed with bromelain)? Does this really work? Is there something better than this or is this tried and true? I had my allergies tested and my doctor said everything he tested me for came back negative so I really don't know what it is that I am allergic to. Just constant sneezing and runny nose. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!
Answer: I've had no luck with pills, but i'll tell you what has helped me tremendously. I take 3/4 ounce of Apple Cider vinegar and mix it with grape juice (you can use apple juice if you like) and drink it. The ACV smells terrible seeing how it's vinegar, but the actual drink doesn't taste too bad if you mix it right and you actually get use to it. Sounds disgusting but the ACV acts as an antihistamine and also thin's mucous. Since discovering this wonderful concoction, life with my allergies has been better 10 fold, and thats not an exaggeration.
Question: Minor Blue Dragon??? I have been taking an herbal allergy medicine called "minor blue dragon" for about 2 days. When I went online to see if it would counteract with anything, I found that it contains "Ephedra sinica" which can cause cardiovascular problems and hypertension. It is considered a performance enhancer and is banned in competitave sports and can show up as Meth in a drug test. Yet, the chinese have used this herb for 5,000 years and regular users beleive it to be harmless in small quantities. An FDA ban on the herb was just lifted. Some side effects may include irritability, nervousness, dizziness, trembling, headache, vomiting, and hyperthermia. Should I stop taking it? I am leaning towards yes.
The medicine I am taking is chinese.
Answer: small quantities, yes.
using for thousands of years, yes.
how do you know how much is being put into your pills?
the chinese have been growing it and using it and KNOW how much they use in conjunction with other herbs. they have been teaching their young (but now the young people aren't interested in it any more) about the herbs and potions. they have 5,000 years of experience. how much experience do americans and uk people have in chinese medicine? NONE.
Question: Herbal Medicines? What is wind-Heat? ? Xanthium relieve surface is an herbal medication for allergies, flu, or common. It says that it helps to clear and disperse wind-heat. What is wind-heat?
Answer: Your best bet would be to ask an acupuncturist or Chinese herbalist to get a precise definition of wind-heat. I did, however, find a little bit of info online:
People with Wind-Heat will have an aversion to cold and shivering, but there will be fever and some sweating. Runny nose with yellow phlegm, headache, body aches, cough, sore throat, swollin tonsils, feeling thirsty, and darker color urine. The tongue may have the color red on its sides &/or tip. The pulse may feel floating and fast
Maybe you call contact the store or company that sold you the herbs. I don't know if it is the same brand, but I did see the following product advertised.

Maybe a practitioner from the link below can answer you question about wind-heat.

Question: I've had a persistent cough for going on a month now and don't know how to get rid of it.? It's worse in the mornings and evening and gets better if I take Claritin but never fully goes away. I've even tried prescription cough medicine, over the counter cough medicine, herbal remedies and nothing has worked. Can anyone help out? It's very annoying. I've had allergies all my life and never had anything like this so I can't see how it is allergy related but who knows.
Thanks!
Answer: One is likely to get some relief in cough with loratidine which is an antihitaminic drug because an element of allergy is always present in cough.I assume that you have got your self checked up by a doctor to see that the chest is clear and that it's not bacterial, needing antibiotics. If there is no pain in the throat and there is no fever and no tuberculosis developing, you may not need them. Some times presence of intestinal worms or high eosinophil count can result into this type of cough.Long term streptococal throat infection if not treated can cause damage to the heart valves.I suggest, you should see a chest specialist and not wait for it to get cured on it's own or by self medication.
Question: Are there restrictions on bringing medicine, vitamins, and supplements into China? For example, can someone bring in a year's supply of vitamins and minerals? How about a year's supply of prescription allergy medication? Or a year's supply of an herbal supplement, like St. John's Wort (which would be over 1,000 capsules)?
Also, could someone have these sorts of items shipped to them in China, or are there regulations against that?
Thanks!
Answer: I've brought thousands of capsules of vitamins, fish body oil, and so on, to China, as gifts. Chinese people like to eat American vitamins. Never had any problem. I just brought those in my suitcase. I believe that to ship them should also be fine.
Question: stuffy nose I had for years and so sick of!!? Ok, At first I thought it was allergies b/c the doctor said it was. But he didnt know what I was allergic from
so i took Benedryl but that doesnt work anymore
I took all the nose sprays and the sprays never work
And now i take claratin D but is starting to lose its strength
I went to the acupuncturist but they said i must be anemic b/c my hands are cold and my digestion isnt good. he said stuffy noses could be another effect from it. So he did acupuncture on my nose and some herbal medicine. My nose was fine but now its back after 3 months.
I do have a rabbit and im pretty sure i may be allergic to her. would the doctor know what rabbit or fur allergy medicine to take?
Answer: I had to go to an allegist and get about twenty shots to see what I was allergic to. I was on claratinD for years then decided to go to a ear, nose throat specialist to get my sinuses worked on. He discovered that I had a deviated septum and that was causing a lot of infections. After my operation, I felt great. I also started using a netipot and sinus rinse. I haven't had an infection or stuffy nose for over 2 years now. http://unimedprod.com/netipot_1.shtml?gclid=CLyAxtvc_pACFQMsFQodzSSm0Q
Question: How do I get rid of my allergies? I have always had allergies but recently they have been getting worse. Its mostly my sinuses that are bothering me. I have tried everything including herbal medicines, home remedies, trying to keep my house dust-free and using an air purifier, but none of them have really worked or if they have only temporarily.
Answer: Have you tried Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)? Mix about 2 tablespoons with a full glass of water. If you can handle the taste, drink it 3x a day. This not only helps with allergies but with acne, immunity, and many other ailments!!!
Question: allergy on antibiotics, whats the best remedy? my wife was confined last week and we found out that she is allergic on all antibiotics... whats the best remedy.... herbal? how will we know the antibiotic herbal medicines
Answer: You need to work with the doctors. I doubt that she's allergic to ALL antibiotics, but if that is the case then when she needs antibiotics she will probably have to take them with antihistimines and be closely monitored.
This needs to be done with a doctor though, and I can't say for sure that it works. It's just what I'd expect to see.
Question: home remidies for allergies? i was wondering if anyone knew of any good home or herbal remidies for allergies i have been taking allergy medicine since i was 5 years old and i am now 21 my doctor has told me that i have built up a tollerance to all of the meds i have been on for it i have been on perscrition strngth benidrill allegrea claritin and zertec i also from the time i was 14 to 19 i was on allergy shots i was taking 3 a week for 2 years and 3 every two weeks for 3 yearsand although some of my allergies have gotten better others still persist and get worse nothing seems to work anymore and i wanted to know if anyone had any good home or herbal remidies or anything that i could try that would help thank you for your answers
Answer: oregano oil helps for me, I take 24hr claritin 2x a day now so I feel your pain :( Benadryl is like drinking water now... I'm with you. Try oregano oil, it's great for clearing up your sinuses and it's good for itchy ears too. I get the liquid form as it's purer, the pill form is made of plant cellulose and since I'm allergic to alot of plants I steered clear of it, so I can't say how that works. But the liquid you can take as drops or you can apply it topically. It also has anti-bacterial/fungal properties to it. I swear by it when my allergies get really bad :) Also if you suffer from asthma at all from allergies, coffee is good for that. And yes, local honey helps strengthen your immunity for the pollen.
Question: Quick fix for runny nose and watery eyes????? Wondering if there is something I can just do maybe herbal or something.
I've been taking strong cough syrups (hydrocodne), allergy medicine (to sleep lol) and just lots of cold medicine for the duration of my cold.
I'm not feeling the need to puke so I want to drop of some papers at school tomorrow.
I don’t want to be blowing my nose, then sanitizing my hand, and wiping my eyes.
Hoping someone has some sound advice passed down from a wiser family member or something lol.
Thanks
Answer: hmm well i would take the allergy medicine, i find sudafed works best for me without drowsiness, and try some eye drops just before you go. you could test it out beforehand and see if it works, otherwise, can someone else drop off the papers for you? or you could wear one of those mask thingys for colds? or you can just do what you have to do and know that everyone in this life has or will suffer the same thing at one time or another, and your business is important and must be done...
