Question: Where can I find home decorations with a Japanese style? I'm moving into a new apartment and would like to pull together a light Japanese theme around mostly contemporary styles. I've looked around online and can't find anything which might provide what I'm looking for.
Does anyone have any suggestions on where to look for this type of home decoration?
Ikea has nice furniture and while I've already selected my bed from there, there isn't much in the way of Japanese styles. Also, I'm not on the West Coast so that does me little good.
Answer: Much of the decor from the Arts & Crafts themes have a Japanese style. It's a straight line design with no frills. The wood is often cherry or teak. It's quite beautiful in its simplicity.
Good luck!

Yes, I already tried google.com and yahoo.com
suzb49: that is an excellent answer. You are awesome. I did call JcPenny before I posted the questions here, but I will check out that website you mentioned. Atleast, something is better than nothing. You will get the best answer from me!!!!
Answer: Did you try calling JC Penny to see if they have it at any of their stores? Sometimes stores will check others in order to satisfy the customer. I also tried to find the shelves on line for you and drew a blank. I found leaning ladder shelves in lakesidecollections.com but that was the best I could do sorry and I do hope you find your selves, I know what it is like to get an idea into your head and then not be able to fine what you want!
Question: how can i get customers to buy home decorations? i need help to get new customers to buy home decorations from me and i'm will to give a 15% off on the first order
Answer: There are an almost infinite number of ways to do this.
Essentially, you need to identify who your target market(s) are. In your case, people that have just bought a house could be a good target.
Once you have identified the best target(s), you need to find the best way to let them know that you exist. If you wanted to advertise directly to recent home buyers, then it would be worth talking to your local real estate agents. Pehaps you could offer them a small commission out of the 15% discount.
Of course, the Internet now provides an excellent medium to attract customers from wide and far. In this case you would need to establish a Web site and use the many resources available to market that site to your target(s).
It is difficult to provide a large amount of information in this forum, but the bottom line is that you need to have a marketing plan that will provide you with the answers.
All the best with it!

Question: What are your favorite home decorations on the market today? Are there any home decor products that stand out above the rest?
If you can name a few, what would they be?
What are some of your favorites?
Answer: I love the plastic composite ceiling medallions. You can paint them to resemble gold leaf, rust, patina, copper or stone. They really make a focal point out of ordinary ceiling fans and they are inexpensive. I'm also a big fan of wrought iron, particularly when it is used in mixed media applications like with wood or wicker. You cannot go wrong with natural stones. I love the variations in marble, limestone, granite and travertine. They are classic.
In terms of manufacturers, I go for quality like Thomasville, Drexel Heritage, Hooker and even Restoration Hardware. There is a great catalog called Home Decorators which has unique, yet inexpensive, quality items.
Question: is there a catalog like AVON, that people can work for commissions selling home interior decorations? I know someone who saw this particular catalog, but did not get the name other than "home interior decorations". the door to door seller
would go with this catalog in a very AVON-lady way.
Is there one particular company or many? I'm not talking about direct mail services, but where an individual seller can work on commission for.
Answer: I believe it what you are referring to is Home Interiors & Gifts, Inc. It has no relation to Avon although Avon has its own separate home design catalog. Anyway, they're not in business anymore because they got bankrupt.
Question: What is a good discount website where I can buy home decorations? I've chosen a theme for each room in my house. I just need to find some reasonably priced decorations to flow with each theme. I've tried ebay, but what are some others? Thanks (:
Answer: ikea!
Question: Cheap decorations for the home? I need a website or store for cheap home decorations and furniture....also toys, and school supplies
or cheap design ideas for my new home
Answer: I'm in the home remodeling industry and do real estate investments and staging/decorating as well. I get most of my decorative accents from stores like.. Big Lots, Job-Lots,Ocean State Job Lot, Home Goods, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Target, Walmart. These store have really cheap prices on clearance goods that look great and nobody would ever know or believe what you paid for them. They all have furniture pieces, and all sell school supplies and toys, except Home Goods. Here are some tips below...
Interior Designer Tip/Trick #1
Always display items on a shelf or on a table in odd numbers only.
Ex: One large item alone, sets of three, Sets of five, sets of seven, nine, etc. Adds greater visual appeal, interest, and impact.
Interior Design Tip/Trick #2
Besides the usage of paint to introduce color into a room, try brighter colored throw pillows and rugs.(very inexpensive visual effect.)
Tip #3
Add Glass and/or mirrors to a room to make it appear larger and brighter. Glass bounces light and gives the illusion of a larger room.
Tip #4
Create your own artwork..most dollar stores always carry frames in a multitude of colors. At $1.00 each (10x11) or (12 x10) buiy sevral of them with matching frames, so you can use your computer to download images and print to put it them, also use matching left over fabric to put in them, cut out left over matching border or wallpaper an insert into frames, or scan pictures out of books and magazines. When hanging pictures always hang in pairings of even numbers. Ex: two side by side, 4, (two on top, two on bottom) 6 three on top, three on the bottom) 8 (four on top, four on the bottom).
Last tip...
Use inexpensive square or rectangular baskets all same color to store clutter.
Hope this helps! :0)
Question: What are cool homemade decorations or home items to add to the fish bowl with an alpha betta fish? What are cool home items to add to the fish bowl?
homemade decorations?
how to take care an alpha beta?
this the first time taking care of a fish...
can they eat outside plants roots?
need help
Answer: Don't put something in your aquarium unless your 100% sure it is aquarium safe. Rocks and other things you find outside(or even inside) can contaminate your water and make your fish ill or die. Chances are, you're not going to find much around the house that you can easily determine if it will go in your tank(in your case, bowl, but you SHOULD have a tank. 5g or larger with a filter is preferred.) without harm. If you can find a PVC pipe and cut it to be 3 to 4 inches that may go well in a 5g, and your Betta will enjoy it. Another little neat hiding space your Betta may take a liking to that is aquarium safe, but I have never personally used, is a Terra Cotta Pot. You can buy them cheaply. If you have one outside, make sure you clean it very well and PROPERLY/aquarium safe before placing it in your tank(not bowl).
If you do have money, though, and simply want to have fun little fish projects to do, there are many things you can find on the web for DIY projects. If you can buy some Silicone(100%) glue, get some, because that will be useful and it's safe for aquariums. Just search "DIY aquarium decor" in google and you're bound to find some neat things. :D Like this, for example: http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/diy_caves.php However, you might NOT find things for bowls. If you really want to have a great fish experience, and for your Betta to have a great life, upgrade to a 5g tank.
Betta should be offered a variety of foods, but none include plant roots. Betta Pellets, Frozen Blood Worms, Live/Frozen Brine Shrimp and Frozen Peas are all good foods for your Betta. Be very careful not to over feed or leave extra food in the tank.
You should look up common Betta diseases so that you can learn how to prevent/help prevent the disease from occurring in the first place, and so you can be prepared, have the medications, and know what to do if an illness does find it's way to your Betta.
A good place to do your research would be http://www.bettatalk.com. It is a very informative resource and you'll find all the information you need there to have a happy Betta. I suggest, however, that you look at several sources. Maybe you could buy a book or two as well?
Question: Where can I find these cool home decorations? My dad wants to repaint the room my sister and I share, so we decided to just give it a makeover. I need a store or website that sells funky lamps, rugs, chairs and quilts. I need them to be like I said funky and not expensive. Thanx!
Oh, and do you think incents re a good idea for a 12 yr old and 8 yr old's room?
Answer: I would try either http://www.overstock.com/ , http://www.ikea.com/ , or http://www.target.com/ . I think incents might be OK for a 12 year old. But the 8 year old might, like try to eat them or something.
Question: What are some home-made decorations I can make for a Sponge Bob party Theme? Please help me!! I love sponge bob and wanna have a party theme sponge bob but I wanna make home-made decorations so it's a little cheaper please give me some Ideas!!
Answer: Make SpongeBobs!
This is one of the coolest kid party ideas for a SpongeBob icebreaker activity… Get a bunch of regular-sized yellow sponges, yellow and white pipe cleaner (for the legs and arms). Have some markers, craft paint, glue, white paper, brown paper, red paper for the tie, and have the kids create their own SpongBobs. Make sure they have a few pictures of SpongeBob around to inspire their creativity.
SpongeBob Kid Party Ideas for Food
Here are some kid party ideas for your SpongeBob birthday party cuisine. Remember to put small signs on each dish just to make sure everyone understands that they are munching on real SpongeBob food:
Mr. Krabs Patties (hamburgers)
Mrs. Puff fish sticks
Seaweed pasta (Green linguine)
Squidward-dogs (Hotdogs that look like tiny octopuses. Cut all the hotdogs in half - but not all the way - only so that they open. Then slice halfway up four times on each half so that you have eight dangling sections and place in boiling water. Watch them curl up like arms!!!)
Gary's Submarines (Subs!! you can make this a buffet where everyone makes their own subs)
Plankton pizza (mini bagel bite pizzas)
SpongeBob Kid Party Ideas for Drinks:
SpongeBob Ocean Slushy - Mix 3 cups of ice, 3 cups of blue sports drink or punch, and 3 large scoops vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt in a blender. Whirl until smooth and serve (place the shake in the freezer for a thicker shake).
Blue Punch (Put gummy fishes or gummy sharks inside. You can also freeze the gummy fish and sharks in cubes of ice)
Pop Rock Punch (This is another variation of the Blue Punch. After you've placed a filled glass in front of each guest, add some seaweed dust (a few Pop Rocks candies) to each cup. It will then crackle, pop, and split when it comes into contact with the liquid.)
Jelly-fish liquid (pink lemonade)
Question: How can I make home decorations out of love letters? My room walls are empty and want to decorate them with my and my girlfriends love letters.
Answer: That is soo adorable! If you want to preserve them then arrange them on any surface top and place over them a correctly sized sheet of glass or plexiglass to hold in place [i just suggested this to another person].
But what is much more unique is gluing them all together, as many as there are, and then cut in the shape of a heart and take up a huge section of wall, somewhere where theres nothing on the wall to take away from it. And then you will also have the outline of a heart with a square border which you can connect where you've cut and put that up instead, or in anouther room. You can also do this idea without the cutting of hearts, just hang a big square up on a totally blank wall, but thats just not as fun!
