Low Fat Snacks
Question: What are some HEALTHY and low fat snacks that use Honey? I really like honey, and I want some ideas for very healthy and low fat snacks that use honey as a major ingredient (like so you can actually taste it). Any suggestions? Also, how many calories are in a tablespoon of honey and why is there not any nutritional info on honey?
Answer: Try this: Put apple slices on a graham cracker, a drizzle honey over the top. Or you can replace the graham cracker with a normal cracker, and add a piece of low fat cheese with the apple, then drizzle the honey over the top. It is very tasty, and not that bad for you. Im not sure about the nutrtional values though..Sorry I cant help much!

Question: What are some on-the-go low calorie, low fat snacks? I'm looking for some yummy snacks I can slip into my bag for when I'm on the go or visiting someone who doesn't exactly have the healthiest food on hand. I'm on a strict diet (low fat, less/no sugar/salt, no starches, low calorie, etc.) and I don't eat a lot of meat so a snack with protein in it would be great!
What snacks would you recommend?
Answer: i actually find that the easiest way to snack healthy is just bring some fresh fruit, i always keep a couple nectarines in my bag and im practically addicted to them! they make you feel really full to since they have so much water in them, but if you want something else try rice cakes or 100 calorie packs but the only thing about those is that theres almost nothing in them and youll still be hungry and end up just having like two or three bags which completely defeats their purpose!
Question: What are some good low fat snacks? What are some good low fat snacks that are filling? Also any good low fat recipes?

Question: Can anyone suggest some low fat snacks? In the evenings after my main meal, I feel really hungry and crave snacks. Aside from a small handful of fruit, can anyone recommend very low fat and low calorie snacks?
Answer: rye kruskits are a good alternative to crackers or saladas, and they are good with cottees diet jam, also really low in calories (about 3 calories a serve). if you find yourself just wanting to eat, tomatoes and carrots and strawberries are all really good for you and pretty low in calories. if you just cant seem to get full, skull a bottle of water and you'll get too bloated to still be hungry
Question: What are some really great low-fat snacks? If you are doing weight watchers, and you want to conserve your points, what are some great low-fat snacks that are easy to make and carry with you all day? Thanks!
Answer: Here are my top low-fat snacks that really make me feel like I'm not missing out on taste, but i'm still doing something healthy and good for myself. Hope this helps you.
1- Hershey's Kisses are a perfect choice if you're looking to curb a chocolate craving. Creamy and full of flavor, these morsels are substantial and satisfying. And at only 100 calories for three pieces, your waistline won't have to suffer for your indulgence.
2- For a decadent and visually delightful treat, top raw, sliced fruit with Cool Whip Lite. A half cup of fresh strawberries paired with four tablespoons of the light whipped topping equals a measly 90 calories.
3- Top half an English muffin with one teaspoon of protein-packed peanut butter and you'll have a healthy and filling snack with only 95 calories. Spread the low-cal goodwill by sharing the other half with a co-worker.
4- For a crunchy and sweet snack, what could be better than cripsy, crumbly graham crackers? Two sheets of this classic treat have exactly 100 calories.
5- Easy to grab on the go, Jell-O Fat-Free Pudding Snacks come in delicious flavors like chocolate, tapioca, devil's food, and chocolate/vanilla swirl. Light on calories -- coming in at just 100 -- these pudding cup cuties are full of flavor.
6- Creamy and delicious, frozen yogurt is a perfect treat any time of the year. Just three ounces of a fat-free brand will only set you back 100 calories.
7- There's nothing like beautiful, fresh, ripe cherries to brighten up your palate. A cup of this antioxidant-rich fruit has only 95 calories.
8- Eggs used to get a bad rap, but now they're back in good favor because they are such a good source of iron and protein. One medium hard-boiled egg delivers a host of essential vitamins and just 81 calories.
9- Crunchy almonds make a filling, protein-packed snack. While we don't suggest overindulging, 10 raw almonds roughly equals a diet-friendly 100 calories. Can't find them raw? Roasted, without salt, only adds a few more calories.
10- Three cups of air-popped popcorn weigh in at just 93 calories and give you nearly 15 percent of your daily requirement of fiber -- making it the perfect snack to fill you up, not out.
Question: Can anyone help me with some low fat snacks? Im not over weight but i am gaining weight. I just feel like i am always hungry no matter how much i eat. I eat 3 meals and at least 2 snacks. I try to eat baked not fried foods but i dont like fresh veggies. Any ideas?
Answer: Eat fresh fruits and vegetables for snacks. And don't cover them with cheese or ranch dressing - enjoy the natural flavor.
Also get some exercise. I've found the best regulator of appitite is exercise. Walk, run, cycle, garden, do housework, volunteer - anything to keep you busy, active and productive.
Question: Does anyone know of any low carb and low fat snacks? Well, I've passed 60 recently, my blood pressure went up and then with Lisinopril it was controlled after a few months and is back to 11X over 65-75. However, now my blood sugar is marginal high, about 365 and my cholesterol has gone way up, so the docs have placed me on a low carb, low fat diet. I'm supposed to watch everything, etc, etc. My weight is 193 at 6'1" and I am not lethargis evn though I don't feel very physically capable anymore. I've always eaten and drunk anything and everything, so I am finding it hard to make adjustments. They said I could have snacks other than the 3 75gr carb meals per day if the snacks were both low carb and low fat. I thought this would be easy but I am finding it impossible to find or imagine such snacks. Can anyone who is a dieting buff help me with this?
Answer: If your food is low carb and low fat you are looking at only a few possibilities. Protein and green vegies. Jerky and popcorn (the low fat microwave stuff or air popped stuff. Would fit your bill of fair.
Keep in mind that if you cut carbs those nasty triglycerides should come down as well because they are an end product to the metabolism of carbohydrates.
You might read the book Diabetes Solution, the doc who wrote this clearly explains the relationship between diet, blood sugar, cholesterol etc. My husband used the diet recommended here and lost weight, corrected blood sugar, and lipid profile. He had no problem with blood pressure but if the other things improve for you BP should improve as well.
Otherwise, track closely what you eat by writing it down so you don't try to fool yourself. 60 really isn't that old; it's just long enough to build some really tough to break habits. Take it a day at a time. If you eat poorly one meal, start again fresh at the next meal. Don't wait for the next day.Good luck.

Question: Looking for great low-carb low-fat snacks. HELP!? I'm looking for ideas for low-carb, low fat snacks. I'm tired of cottage cheese, carrots and celery. HELP!
Many of you seem to think this is impossible - but for an overweight diabetic is it necessary - and it is possible. I have lost 60# since March doing this - I'm just getting sick of the same thing.
Answer: You sound much like me. I love breads and sweets. Nuts have fat but the fats they have are good ones. ( NOT peanut butter) I do eat breads but they are low carb and actually taste great and have a great texture. Fruit is also an alternative, Splenda takes away some of the the sugar carbs, whites of eggs with diet cheeses are another remember your body does need some fats and some carbs. good luck
