Modified
Question: How many modified push ups make a regular one? I've been doing this workout for a while. Push ups are the challenging part. I can never get comfortable while doing them. My hands get sore fast. I'm pretty sure I have the right form, hips forward and arms equal with your shoulders, but my hands just hurt to soon. When I do modified push ups they don't hurt. Should I do modified instead, but just do twice as many? How many modified push ups make a regular?
Answer: Hello,
Modified push-ups are great for toning, but it probably will not be able to add as much muscle into your frame as a regular push up will. If I have to estimate 2 and a half modified push up is equal to 1 regular push up.
Question: What is the most common genetically modified food? Which food is most commonly genetically modified? Do all grocery stores carry it? And what has been modified?
Answer: corn, 95% of USA production is non-natural. sold in stores and used in products. hybridized for better yield since 1930.
Question: How have we modified the nebular theory to take the oddities of extrasolar planets into account? What properties of extrasolar planets and their orbits have focus a re-examination of the nebular theory? How have we modified it to explain these properties?
Answer: We haven't. The only modification to the nebular theory is that instead of it being applied just to our own solar system, the theory is now being applied universe wide. The production method is the same. The orbits of extrasolar planets can be somewhat eccentric due to something known as planet-planet scattering. Which, as you may already know, is when planets get too close together (because of their orbit, possibly caused by a disturbance in that system) and the gravitational pull will result in their irregular orbits or a "sling shot" effect. So you'll end up with oval/elliptical/irregular orbits instead of the circular orbits we have in our own solar system.
The only real difference (dectection-wise) is that extrasolar planets are detected through methods such as radial velocity observations, pulsar timing etc as opposed to direct imaging because the light from the parent star usually glares out the planet, making it hard to detect through conventional methods. The properties of extrasolar planets themselves have not resulted in the modification of the nebular theory. Their orbiting patterns and methods for their detection are the only things that really stand out.
Question: How much would it cost to tow my modified car? I need to tow my car about 2 miles because the clutch blew out. AAA would not tow it because it was modified (rims and muffler). Any ideas or suggestions to tow truck companies that would tow a modified car? And more importantly, how much would it cost?
Answer: The two times I had cars towed it was about $75-80. Just call a couple companies and ask how much it would cost. Ask for a flatbed if they have one...
Question: What are some cons of genetically modified animals as food? If you have any ideas of cons about genetically modified animals, please feel FREE to comment. Thanks in advance.
Answer: All animals that we consume are genetically modified. Through selective breeding they have been turned into something quite different to what they were before domestication. Look at the difference between domestic pigs and the wild boars that they came from. The big problem with these animals at the moment is that they are losing their genetic diversity as semen is being supplied to the various industries from fewer and fewer males. I read somewhere recently that all of the cattle in Japan have the genetic equivalent of a population of only 20. That means should the cattle industry be hit with a particularly nasty virus, their are fewer individuals likely to have natural resistance and the entire industry can be in danger of being completely wiped out. That is why many governments go into panic mode when foot and mouth or BSE breaks out.
If however, you are talking about animals undergoing transgenic mutations. e.e having genes from plants or completely different animals inserted into their genomes, that could be another story. as it stands, nothing like that is actually happening as far as I'm aware because anti GM lobbyists are winning that battle. The main issue at stake with transgenics is the loss of ability to reproduce by natural means. For animals it means cloning and for plants it means tissue culture. In both cases loss of genetic diversity and the related risk from disease are the biggests problems.
Question: How do you feel about genetically modified food? Now Im not sure if theres a republican or democratic position on this, but I think that food that was modified should be labeled so people know what theyre buying. I would also like to see whether or not the FDA gave the modification their approval.
Im not someone who thinks modified foods are bad, but I think that the more consumers know the better. A lot of modifications could be good things, like making fruit larger, or allowing it too last longer before decomposing, but I think we have the right too know that it has been modified.
Answer: I would have to agree. I want to know what is in or what has been done to my food. I know there are many apples that are modified.
like blending 2 types.
Question: What are human health issues with genetically modified foods ? we are doing a project and we need to know what genetically modified food will do to you. please give resources.
Answer: actually none...people just feel uncomfortable because they seem "unnatural"
Question: Can someone figure out if my wii is modified, even after i deleted the files? I modified my wii (well actually my friend's friend did but that doesn't matter.) Anywayz my question is that i am trading my wii in to best buy and they said that they wont accept modified wii's, I deleted all the files on it that make it "modified". Question: What are some challenges presented by genetically modified foods? Besides ethical ones, can genetically modified foods be risky to humans? How can those challenges be overcome to increase the benefits to mankind?
Answer: The greatest danger is the fact that no one has the complete answer to your question. Habitats all over the world have been damaged, destroyed, or altered by invasion of non-native species. That's a hazard even without GM. By the time someone discovers a particular strain of GM corn is a hazard, it will have spread far beyond the area of its initial planting. Notice how hard it is to contain mad cow disease or avian flu or HIV.
The way to overcome the challenges is to study them thoroughly before deploying them, giving them as much protection as you would a live Cholera culture.

Question: What types of pet rats are not genetically modified? I have had a pet dumbo rat but she died at age 2 because of tumours.
When I went on the internet it said there is a higher chance you rat will get ill if they are genetically modified meaning hairless rats, dumbo rats, etc
I was wondering what type of rats haven't had this done.
Thank you for any answers.
Answer: There really are not different genetic strains of rats. If you do a little research on their history, you will find that the totally wild rat was kept and bred for scientific research. This is the point where heavy inbreeding began to occur, which caused genetic issues like cancerous tumors to become a common occurrence. This happens from lack of genetic variation. From lab rats came the rats people now keep as pets. So generally speaking, ALL rats we have today come from these type of inbred, genetically unhealthy animals.
Genetically modified is really the wrong term for rats like hairless or dumbos. These types came about through selective breeding. There are different ways of breeding through selection. Inbreeding is commonly used, but some breeders avoid it when they can. Still, inbreeding is necessary to "set" the genetic characteristic, but as long as it is kept to a minimal, it is tolerable. So really, it is the quality of the breeder and their care to avoid inbreeding, not just the fact that they are selectively bred. The best places to get the healthiest rats would thus be from breeders that recognize the dangers of inbreeding and do not do it.
Question: How was the urban fabric of the medieval city modified since the 19th century? How was the urban fabric of the medieval city modified since the 19th century in Rome, Paris, Vienna, Berlin and Venice? Giving urban and architectural examples, making references to the powers that sponsored such changes and their protagonists.
Answer: Well, this answer could go on forever, but I'll make it brief.
The medieval city in Europe focused on the Cathedral and then the marketplace. After all, these where the two main functions of the city at that time: a place for farmers to sell their goods and a place to worship. Residences then formed haphazardly around those structures.
With the Industrialization of the city, factories (and the zoning they required) became more important and the idea of areas devoted only to a certain function evolved.

Answer: I think that is just a back up.
Question: What is a modified contour and an intuitive gesture drawing? So I have a drawing assingment .. a modified contour drawing and an intuitive gesture drawing
I am confused a bit.. what is the techinque for each? examples? thanks
first one i did a plant second one i have to draw still life
Answer: a modified contour drawing means that you draw while keeping your eyes mostly on the subject, and only look at your paper in order to reposition the pencil, but you cannot draw on the paper while you are looking at it.
an intuitive gesture drawing means that you observe the subject and then make a loose drawing that tries to capture the "movement" or "essence" of the subject.
