Natural Food Remedy
Question: How to relief the itching scalp and skin, any natural food remedy?
Answer: For skin lotions, try Cetaphil. For scalp, try scalpacin. These may not be 'natural' remedies, but they do work.
If you're wanting natural remedies only, try Tea Tree Oil. It will usually relieve itching both in scalp and on the skin.
Question: What is the natural remedy for food poisoning?
Answer: AGE....or acute gastroenteritis.
I spent many years treating military members in Turkey with this as my main complaint in the ER.
If the food poisoning involves loss of body fluids like with loose stools/ diarrhea or vomiting.
Water. Half water half/ gatorade to get electrolytes.
Once you are able to keep fluids down for more than 15 mins.,
advance to the B.R.A.T diet. Bananas Rice Applesauce and Toast.
These foods are easy on the stomach while it is sensitive and recovering.
*If you are not losing body fluids, and only have a "tummy ache", the natural remedy the Turkish use is yogurt. And this although unproven,
may help kill the bugs that cause stomach sickness from various causes.

Question: what are some natural food remedies for constipation? for children under 2.
Answer: Depends on how old - if just turning one then the options might be a little different than, say, a child who is almost two. Depending on the child's ability to chew, here are some ideas:
Raisins (my little ones eat a small box almost every day)
Carrot sticks (cut up the "mini carrots" into 4 pieces to make smaller sticks)
Raw Apple (cut it and slice it - I prefer to peel the skins for small children, my friend leaves it on - it's up to you)
Grapes (frozen or fresh - just be sure to cut them in half so they're not a choking hazard - my children LOVE the frozen grapes, they taste like popsicles, only they're natural)
Citrus fruit (oranges - grapefruit, etc. - we got an 18 lb bag of grapefruit at meijer and after a few days I realized my children were getting a little too much - they had loose bowels)
Crackelin Oat Bran Cereal (it's perfect for that age and your child can eat it dry. My youngest LOVES this cereal)
Spinach or other canned "greens" (my youngest prefer the spinach because it's plain. Momma likes the Old Glory greens because they are seasoned - but the effect is the same - it helps them go)
Plenty of juice (we usually dilute juice at my house - mostly water w/ a little juice to flavor - but when there's constipation, we use more juice - like half and half - if you're desparate - use straight juice)
If you're into supplementation - a little extra Vitamin C (try cutting chewables to small sizes and give frequently during the day) or liquid Chlorophyll will do the trick. We only use Nature's Sunshine liquid Chlorophyll because my children love it (my 12 yr old said only to get that kind). It tastes like mint gum. Chorophyll is a natural detoxifier and digestive aid, cleanses the intestines, and the body in general. For smaller children I do no more than a teaspoon a day. When my youngest was 6 mo. old, he got 1/4 tsp a day - for an idea.
********
The main thing is to integrate these types of things into your child's diet on a regular basis. These are normal, daily fare at my house and my 4-yr-old has only been constipated twice. My 2 yr-old has never been constipated. It helps, too, to reduce the amount of refined flours and sugars because those things will stop you up (i.e. pop tarts, toddler "puffy" snacks, sugar cereals, white bisquits, white bread, white pastas, etc.).

Question: What is a good natural remedy (foods, supplements, etc.)for stage 1 hypertension.?
Answer: There are several things you can do for hypertension that can have a powerful effect:
1. Lose weight if you are overweight.
2. Exercise regularly, even if it is only walking.
3. Follow the DASH eating plan, which is proven to lower blood pressure: http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/public/heart/hbp/dash/
4. Discontinue the use of stimulants, including caffeine and tobacco. Look for hidden sources of stimulants in food and beverages.
5. Take calcium and magnesium. (Low intake of both are associated with high blood pressure; women need between 1,000 and 1,500 mg of calcium per day; men no more than 1,200 mg daily from all sources. If you get your calcium from supplements, take half as much magnesium as your calcium dosage.)
6. Take vitamin C, which has been shown to lower blood pressure in people with mild to moderate hypertension.
7. Take omega 3 supplements (fish oil).
Garlic and niacin, suggested above, while helpful for cholesterol, aren't remedies for hypertension.

Question: Is there a holistic, natural remedy for my cat's dandruff? She is on a healthy diet of a food high in whatever the fats are called (18% I believe), she has never had a dandruff problem before (she's 2) but we moved recently and this is her first spring in northern California. I believe that she is having itchy, dry skin due to allergies because she is constantly rolling on the carpet and trying to scratch her back (where the majority of the dandruff is) on tables and other things. Is there a natural remedy to soother her skin?
Answer: Something I do for our cats when it gets really dry in the winter is take a small drop or two of oil, depending on how much fur the cat in question has, and rub it over my palms really thoroughly and then pet the cat. Be sure to spread the oil out as thinly as possible. If you overdue it, your cat may lick itself into having a hairball. So only the minimum amount you think will do it. You can always do more later if need be. I usually use olive oil or canola since they are fairly neutral.
It cuts down on the static and helps hydrate their skin. You might try it while your cat has active dandruff, olive oil is very hydrating and helps heal. And it would be a good upkeep just whenever you think she is getting dry again.
As for the cure, giving her a small amount of an oily fish every other day or so will help. Whatever you do, don't give her a bath unless it's a vet recommended shampoo for cats with irritable skin. And if you do brush her, use a very soft brush that only goes through the top layer of fur and won't reach her irritated skin.
Good luck!

Question: Anyone know of natural remedies for improving blood circulation? I am looking for information on herbal or any natural remedies. Foods or medicine.
Answer: Cayenne powder dramatically increases the blood circulation, you can also take a liquid cayenne tincture. It must be over 100,000 heat units ''HU'' to be effective. There is only one place I know of that sells organic cayenne powder and tinctures that are 250,000 HU, and that is Herbdoc.com. If you put the cayenne powder in capsules be sure not to fill it more then half full, otherwise it will burn your stomach cause it's so hot if you over do it at on one dose.
Here is the site, scroll down to find the cayenne.
