Natural Whey Protein
Question: Just got Optimum Nutriotion Natural Whey Protein 5lb. and opened to find out that it wasnt all the way full.? is that suppose to happen ? the plastic seal surrounding the cap was there, but under the cap the paper seal was off.... uhh someone tell me whether or not that is suppose to happen
Thank you in advance.
and is there a reason why the seal under the lid is not fully stickied on to the rim of the canister?
Answer: It is sold by weight not volume, like they say on the cereal boxes, some settle may occur. If you are really concerned you might have been ripped off weigh it and find out. A lot of manufacturers make the package larger than the product to get people to believe they are getting more than they actually are. Have you ever opened a bottle of pills to find a huge wad of cotton and like 10 pills in the big bottle, same principle.
Question: natural whey protein and flavored whey protein?!? which do you prefer flavored whey protein or natural whey protein i mean unflavor?
what is the difference between them?
best answer will be given
Answer: It depends.
I'm on a low carb/high fat/moderate protein diet so I like the EAS whey protein, which is low in carbs and decently flavored. Alot of the better tasting protein powders have more carbs, so that isn't an option for me.
On the other hand, the unflavored is also fairly low in carbs but I can't stand the taste, and I don't know how I would flavor it while at the same time maintaining low carbs.
Ultimately, I think it boils down to personal preference.
Question: lose weight:Jillian Michaels Natural Whey Protein Powder question!!? -well first of all, is it okay for a 14 year old girl to drink Jillian Michaels Natural Whey Protein Powder once or twice a day??
-is it good for shaping your body and losing weight if you use an elliptical bike 30 min. a day(since shes only 14 yrs old)???
THANK YOU for answering those questions!!! ^.^
Answer: Protein isnt going to shape her body or make her lose weight. It will help with getting lean and building muscle. If all shes doing is an elliptical i wouldnt recommend taking protein. If she does however she should take one scoop mixed with 8 -12 oz. of water. Though i dont recommend her take the protein unless she did more intense exercise.
Question: Whey Protein side effects - natural protein resistance? Has anyone ever heard that taking whey protein can cause an inability to metabolize natural protein and cause like an immunity or resistance?
Thanks Matt.
I also had this same thought and was unable to find anything to suggest otherwise. Someone mentioned this to me so I was curious :)
Answer: I have never heard this and it doesn't really make any sense.
Whey protein IS a "natural protein" -- it's a by-product of cheese making from cow's milk. Whey occurs naturally in all cows milk, although when you purchase whey in a store, it has been concentrated down, isolated, or hydrolyzed to make it more protein-dense and quickly digested.
Indeed, whey protein is one of the most easily digested proteins available and it has a complete amino acid profile.
You cannot develop a "resistance" or "immunity" to whey protein because it's not a pathogen. Some individuals may have problems digesting whey protein, but that usually is a problem with residual lactose in the mixture, and not because of the whey itself. If you are lactose intolerant, you need to look for a whey protein that is lactose free or includes lactase digestive enzymes. I'm personally lactose intolerant, and Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey works great for me (not all of them did.)
Finally, realize that whey protein is not a drug or anabolic steroid -- it's a food product. Unless you have kidney disease (which high protein diets can aggravate), there should be no side effects to pure whey protein. If that's not the case for you, check the label to make sure the manufacturer is not adding other supplements like creatine, which might cause a reaction.
Best of luck!

Question: what is the best source of natural whey protein?

Question: Is there any NATURAL alternative to whey protein? I mean really natural...? I certainly except that no natural nutrition can be replaced by powerfull whey protein powders, however at least what is the best natural postworkout nutrition. What is the fastest effect protein source in nature which can be replaced to whey? I know people will say whey is also NATURAL..no guys.. its processed food. if we think like that everything is natural even drugs are made from natural plants isnt it?
Answer: Spirulina
Spirulina contains an unusually high amount of protein, between 55% and 77% by dry weight, depending upon the source. It is a complete protein, containing all essential amino acids, though with reduced amounts of methionine, cysteine, and lysine when compared to the proteins of meat, eggs, and milk. It is, however, superior to typical plant protein, such as that from legumes.
Athletes need additional protein for increased strength and to enhance their performance. Spirulina is rich in protein, Vitamin B complex such as vitamin B1 ,B2 and B3, calcium, iron and carotene which is beneficial for workouts.

Question: Natural Whey Protein foods? Are there any foods that naturally contain whey protein?
And besides whey, are there any other forms of quickly digestible protein?
Example: milk naturally has casein protein.
I'm following this work-out guide and it says I need to eat a form of quickly digestible protein such as whey in the morning (but I don't have any supplements).
Answer: You can actually buy curds and whey. But milk is where whey comes from, so milk should be good too.

Question: I want to use whey protein to supplement my weightlifting, what's the benefit of whey vs natural protein?
Answer: Whey protein will be absorbed more quickly and is good right after a workout. However, throughout most of the day, a slower absorbing protein is better because it will do a better job of maintaining a positive nitrogen balance throughout the day.
If the amino acids from a protein is absorbed more rapidly than the body can use the amino acids for tissue building and repair, then the excess simply become empty calories. This is similar to the reasons why low glycemic index carbs maintain more stable blood sugar levels than high glycemic index carbs. Although we are talking about different nutrients, this same principle applies to all caloric nutrients.

Question: Few questions on when to drink Whey protein? Is the best time to drink Whey Protein in the morning and after a workout?
If its good to drink it in the morning then should it be after or before i have my cereal?
Is 15 grams of Whey protein enough?
The brand im using is Jillian Michael Natural Whey protein: Vanilla
Also should i take Whey protein before i got to bed too? even on off days?
Answer: It really depends on why u are drinking it - u can drink it anytime really, but definitely w/in 30 minutes after your workout. I, for example, sometimes drink a shake around 10:30am for a mid morning snack, always before and after I weight train, and sometimes before bed. But the shake I drink at night is Casein not whey. Casein is just a slower digesting type of protein. Since I won't be eating for 7-8 hrs while sleeping, I want a protein that will deliver nutrients over a sustained period of time. I like Vitamin Shoppe Dymatize Elite Whey and Optimum Nutrition Casein.
Question: is there any natural alternate to the critain and whey protein powder for the body building ? my coach guide me protein powder and critain. but i want to avoid such supplements. is there any natural way to make our body? any natural diet. i live in india, chandigarh.
plz help.
Answer: Dude, quit whatever your doing if your not going to take whey protein powder. Stop wasting your time, seriously.. I dont know anyone serious that doesnt take it.
Creatine you dont have to take if you dont want, but get some whey protein powder for sure. You can eat tons of protein after your workout like chicken, steak and all that, but it wont digest as fast as a whey protein shake and you need a protein to digest fast after you workout.
After your workout, you need to have a shake, and then have a good meal with a lot of protein.
