Question: How do I contact national TV news channels when I have really important news? A while back I came across what I considered extremely important news and wanted to let national TV news channels know, most specifically thinking of CNN or even MSNBC, but could not find anywhere I could "click" for lets say "news tips", "contact us", "urgent news", or similar. It may sound silly but there are some things sometimes people feel better telling it to news mediums than police or other authorities.
Why? Well because news people are always willing to hear and listen to what you can explain to them in an intelligent way. Most of the time authorities tend to make their own judgement without you finishing your story. Or worse yet cut you off telling you "let proper authorities handle it".
I have no idea how any news channel would have reacted to what I thought was something odd and a bit complicated, thus making it important in the world situation we now have. But just in case I come across something like that I want to tell someone immediatedly, in strict confidence.
Answer: You can notify CNN right here:
Is news happening in front of your eyes? Pull out your camera and I-Report it for CNN. Use the form on this page to send files from your computer. Send cell phone video and photos to [email protected]. (En Español) Need help? Use the Toolkit.
Some of the videos, photos and audio submitted may be selected for use on CNN.com, in CNN television programming or other CNN programming services, so by sending information you are agreeing to our terms of use.

Question: What news program in the USA incorporates pressing American affairs AND international affairs? I just moved to the US and I'm having trouble finding international and national news merged into one show. I just want the traditional news where the anchor reads the introduction, he/she talks about it, a video is shown and she just moves onto the next story.
I dont' want a discussion show, just traditional news :) Thank you. Please tell me what channel the show is on and what time as well as the timezone you're referring to. Thank you!
Answer: The big three are CNN, MSNBC and FOX News. Might have to switch among these and tune in to local news to get the customization that you what.
Question: What positive news about the Clinton campaign is the media ignoring? I've seen many that assert that the media is biased against Sen. Clinton because now there is only positive news about the Obama campaign and negative news about the Clinton campaign. Please tell me some positive news about the Clinton campaign that is going unreported.
Answer: The media isn't 'ignoring' any positive news about the Clinton campaign - Hillary is well ahead and going to win Pennsylvania; And bully for her - Give her credit for winning the big states. But the media is also trying to do their job and tell it like it is - That EVEN IF Hillary wins all the rest of the states by wide margins (And that's highly unlikely); Her chances of overtaking Obama's lead now are very slim. They are not trying to force her out; They are just trying to remind us that this thing is just about a foregone conclusion already. The problem is they get shouted down by the Hillary fans (because a prolonged campaign is crucial to their very thin hopes) and the Republicans (because a prolonged nomination battle can only help them) every time they try to do their job...
Question: How do people who write news articles on the internet get their news information and pictures? How do people who have their own websites and who post new articles and pictures get their information? Do they get it from the Associated Press and is their some place one can get news information to post on their websites? I would like to start my own website, but I would like to have breaking news information on my page. Where can I get news informations from?

Question: How come the news always reports bad news except for when the weather is getting warmer? Have you ever noticed that? I have and I really think that in this economic crisis we are in, that we deserve to hear good news. I would rather hear good news than stuff about bail out plans and all the jobs being lost. And I am down right tired of hearing about the stock market. What about you?
Answer: Good news does not sell papers or get good ratings on television. Besides according to the news warming is not good either because the interpret it to be global warming. Global warming is not caused by man, the theory that it is is just political propaganda. The economy is not as bad as being reported either because that is propaganda also. The current majority in the government today do nt want good news because when things are good they lose power. They rule by fear and intimidation and as long as they can keep your afraid you will keep voting them in because they claim hug large big government is the answer.
the news media have a political agenda and fair and accurate unbiased reporting has died. This modern media love the current administration and will base their reporting on what will keep these people in power.
Question: What is the best online news website that gives the top stories of the day? I enjoy reading Reuters and Yahoo News but I want a website that will give me the most important news stories from the entire day, not the most recent breaking news. I want something like an online newspaper for US and international news.
Answer: CNN gives the breaking news on the first page; however, if you click on the "World" or "U.S." tabs, you will get the top stories of the day without the breaking news stuff that you don't want. You can also click find information from previous days.

What kind of News should consider really a Breaking News on TV and all other medias?Do you think they should make big headlines for the Cat and Dogs who climed somewhere high places and can't find the way to come down?

Question: How do local papers find out about local news, sports, and business without getting a news tip? You see your local news and local sports news and local business news etc in a local paper. WHO finds out about them if the paper doesn't get a news tip?
10 points to the most knowledgeable!
Answer: They are contacted by the newsmakers, typically. They have well developed contacts w/ police, so they get reports from them on daily crime, they get in free to events and are actually envited to them by promoters who also advertise in the event ...
Of course they have people listening to scanners and such for instant crime reporting, they go to city council meetings, grand openings ...
long story short, they are established within the community they serve and the community makes sure they know when things are going on so it can be covered in the news and they combine these daily occurances w/ reporters timely coverage of crime or reporting indepth on what has tipped them off.
Question: What are the best news sites for a potential weekly news show? My friend and I want to start a weekly news show , and i want ot know the best places for Information. We want more odd ,artsy, and liberal news though not relay the depressing stuff you see on T.V. If you have any ideas it would be really helpful!

Question: How much attention do you pay to the news? How does the news affect your everyday decision-making? If you are a business person, do you use what you read in the regular (including entertainment and sports) news to make decisions or do you pay attention only to the business news? If you are an employee, does what you read and hear affect how you work? What actions if any do you take in relation to the news considering just yourself, not to your employment? Does the news affect your mood? Your relationships? What you buy?
Answer: I like to keep aware of what is happening. I like to multiple-source everything, and I also try to keep aware of bloggers left, right, and center. As part of a troop/veteran support group, I stay in contact with serving military and recent returnees and those who (like me) have been out for a while.
The effect is a general belief that most things make sense, if you take the context into account, while some of those around me are freaking out :)
Also, I am making low-level preparations for various threats (meteorological, economic, political etc.) as I become aware of them, in order to be a little ahead of the game if certain trends continue or threats materialize. If I don't keep up, how will I know what to be ready for?
Question: How does the news determine which stories to publish? I am familiar with sending press releases, but do some news sources feed off others?
For example, if I submit a press release to one news source (a small local paper), is it possible another local paper would feed off the press release and publish?
Answer: I think it depends a lot on the topic, and how the media outlet you submitted the release to handles it. If they use the release verbatim, or a rewrite, it's not likely that other outlets will pick it up. BUT if the media outlet takes the story beyond the release... it's very possible that it will be picked up by others. Best bet, though, send the release to all the media outlets in the market... follow up with a phone call, which may encourage the reporters to work up a story. And speaking from 20 years in a radio newsroom... if you send a release to the local paper, but not the broadcast outlets, there's a tendancy to IGNORE the story entirely. Sad, but true.
Question: What is the difference between a broadcast news analyst and a news reporter? I've been doing research and it seems that a news analyst finds the news while a broadcast news reporter only reads it. is that true?
Answer: An analyst gives his or her opinions about a major news event. Let's say, GM declares bankruptcy. An analyst would explain why and what should be done next. On the other hand, a broadcast news reporter would say what happened.
Question: What is the deal withthe news being so unfocused on real news? The big news stations are so concerned about the "hulk Hogan" story, and these celebrities, and what Obamas wie is wearing, and frivilous matters, and they will take up hours and days for these stories, but when a real news story is aired; it is aired for ten minutes during the afternoon, and is never heared of again....WHY is this?
Does this only bother me, or are their others who have seen this and are concerned?
Answer: News has become entertainment --- objective is NOT to inform but get higher ratings, which means more money.
Question: How are local news broadcasts constructed in order to adhere to laws and regulations governing the media? What various laws must the news broadcasters be aware of and how does this shape the way the news is prestented?
I'm specifically looking for information regarding the British news.
Answer: It's called LIBEL and SLANDER... and the first amendment doesn't protect someone from LIBEL and SLANDER... like the lies that FOX NOISE CHANNEL spews out about Obama.
