Question: How do they extract the juice of the Noni fruit , commercially ?
Answer: "Noni fruit juice and juice products are processed and prepared in Hawaii by a variety of methods. For example, noni juice may be fermented versus unfermented, or fresh-squeezed versus drip-extracted. The “traditional” juice is both drip-extracted and fermented/aged for at least two months. The “non-traditional” method of juice extraction is by pressing or squeezing the juice from ripe fruits. Noni juices may be amended with other additives or diluted, or bottled in its pure state. It may be bottled with or without pasteurization. In this section, the essentials of commercial and home noni juice processing in Hawaii are discussed and illustrated."
Question: I have a Noni tree in my garden. Can anyone tell me how to extract the juice from the Noni fruit ?
Answer: Yes I can tell you. You sort of need 2 bags. I heard about it some time ago so trying to remember and explain at the same time. Once the fruit is in the bag, as it starts to go bad it will produce a juice that you collect in the second bag. I don't know how many days but you can try it and see for yourself when it's time to throw away the first bag and pour the juice into a bottle or container. You really have to know what you are doing in order to do that. Good luck. I buy the product and it's delicious and helps me.
Question: Can you extract oil from noni fruit? and how?
Answer: Noni fruit contains watery juice, so this is what you would get out if you just crushed the fruit.
If it is an "oil" that you want, it will consist of nonpolar compounds (immiscible with water), so you should use a nonpolar solvent to extract it. A common solvent for such extractions is hexane. You may also want to consider using supercritical CO2, especially if the oil is for food or medicinal use. The solvent will need to be removed after the extraction, usually by distillation.
The compounds that you get out will probably be different depending upon whether the extract comes from the peel, fruit flesh, or seeds, so if your oil seems unsatisfactory, you might try extractions from the separate components of the fruit. Crushing the peel or seeds may be sufficient to extract the oil from these components.
Question: How to make Noni juice ? Is Noni fruit extracted or pulped to get the Noni Juice
Answer: Traditionally, the most efficient Noni juice extraction is extraction by weight. This is obtained when ripe, soft, translucent fruits are placed into juice collection vessels for 2 months or longer. During this time, the Noni juice separates (drips) gradually from the pulp. The Noni juice collects inside the containers and ferments as it gradually seeps and sweats from the fruits. After the collection and fermentation process is complete, the juice is drained from spigots at the base of containers (and filtered). Fresh air is excluded from these containers, and contact between the juice and fresh air is minimized throughout the process.
I've done research in the past on noni juice and have even used it myself. I found the above information at the following website: http://www.ctahr.hawaii.edu/noni/fruit_juices.asp I filtered through it and listed the most pertinent information here. The Univeristy of Hawai'i has research grants to study the effects of noni juice on diseases such as cancer -- so this website should be pretty reputable.
