Raw Living Food
Question: Living on Raw /living food diet!? I would like to try out some raw food diet recipes as I am intending to switch to living food diet. Is there any online store that sells or delivers ready to eat raw food to Europe?
Answer: try www.rawvolution.com I don't know if they ship internationally, but they do deliver one weeks worth of prepared raw foods throughout the US. i have his "cook"book and the resipes are really good. the box is $100 before shipping and he usu fed-exes it overnight. check to see about international shipping. good luck!
Question: What percentage of your diet is living (raw) food?
Answer: Hmm... I'd say around 85%, including unprocessed grain, seeds and nuts.
Question: Support Group for Raw / Living Food ? I was thinking about possibly starting an online support group for beginners and experienced raw food eaters! However, I'm not sure how to go about this. Any Suggestions? Anyone else who has been looking for the same thing and would like to email?
Thanks :)
Answer: Hi there - There are several Yahoo groups dedicated to talking about the raw lifestyle. You can find them by going to the Yahoo groups homepage (http://groups.yahoo.com/) and doing a search for raw food. The search will probably also drag up some groups for those who feed their dogs a raw meat diet, so you might have to wade through those, but you can probably find a good group to join!
Good luck!
Question: Can you point me to any grocery stores (anywhere in the US) that sells all vegan raw/living food items? I have only been successful in finding this type of store online (www.rawfood.com), rather than an actual physical store.
Answer: umm, have u tried Whole Foods? or any of their "sister" stores? they r really good
Question: I'm looking for a fairly simple raw vegan (living food) main course for dinner tonight? Any raw foodists out there?
No crazy ingredients please. I live in a cowpoke town :-)
Thanks
rofl, I have tried cow actually...i worked in fine dining and wanted to sample what I sold. But I was raised without beef and my body just can't process it. And also I get too attached to animals to see them as 'food.' But hey, live and let live. :-)
Answer: This raw Pasta Fresca Mexicana recently won the first prize in a online cooking contest. You could easily substitute whatever veggies you want / can find in your town. All you need is a well stocked grocery store to cook it. (And it's truly a raw recipe, no tofu or anything... just veggies and nuts.)
Question: Are there any serious raw/living food vegans here? May I -please- only have serious answers!? I am looking for someone who knows about making living breads. Buckwheat pizza crusts, tortillas, etc.
Answer: I don't know how to make it at home, but Ezekial 4:9 and Food for life (brands) bread are vegan and sprouted/living type bread. Sorry I can't be of more help.
Question: I would like to know of any unique experiences people have experienced whilst living on a Raw food diet? Raw foodist 'David Wolfe' says in one of his books that he once awoke to find a wild bird playing about him with no fear. There are also noted instances when nature bows down to help and aid one who lives a pure and natural life.
I was wanting to know if people have encountered such strange yet natural experiences?
Answer: The raw food diet is really unhealthy.
Question: Anyone know of any raw/living foods places in and around the San Diego area? Anyone know of any Raw/Living foods places in and around the San Diego area? Thanks!
Answer: These fun places popped up when I did a live/raw search for you on yelp.com...

Question: I am trying to eat more raw and living food; are bags of nuts in the baking aisle raw or roasted?
Answer: They are all roasted or cooked unless the label says raw. Don't assume otherwise. Also, do some research on eating raw nuts. You will find that they have enzyme inhibitors in their raw state and they need to be soaked overnight to remove them. You can then make a nut milk or dehydrate them at a low temperature to get the most nutrition out of them.
Question: simple raw live food menus for the busy folks? what are some raw food combinations and menus.. when one doesn't have that much time to grate, julienne, etc? a friend of mine would simply pack whole foods to munch on them for lunch. i'm not too picky and could do the same, but want to make sure i'm getting a good variety of nutrients in my diet. any recommended websites?
Answer: there are some great raw food groups on yahoo with good info. When I first went raw 3 years ago, I fiddled with all of the fancy pates, pies, etc. I found I prefer stuff just as it comes. Nothing better than a piece of ripe fruit, or a crunchy raw veggie with some sprouted hummus. I follow the 80/10/10 diet, with 80 percent of my food being raw, and the other 20 percent lightly steamed or grilled. I love raw food bars-I use the pulp leftover from juicing fruits and veggies, and add seeds and nuts, dates, and a little agave nector, then dehydrate them in my food dehyrator-they make a great portable snack. Lara Bars and Raw Revolution bars are great too, with a piece of fresh fruit
Question: Is eating living raw food safe?
I am talking about the diet at www.alissacohen.com . I have pcos and need to lose weight to have a baby. I need to get my hormones back on track.
P.s.. I am NOT spamming...
It is a question...and i am REALLY looking for answers...
Answer: I am not keen on eating raw meat personally, but eating raw vegetables is the way to go. There are some veggies that are best cooked but still crunchy like broccoli and greens.
It is very important to eat raw milk and raw or cultured dairy products because pasteurization kills all the goodness in them.
Avoid the microwave oven.
Question: Is anyone living on the raw food diet and how do you feel?
Answer: There was a funny comment by celebrity Andy Dick who did the raw food diet in L.A. for some years. He quit and everyone asked him why...
He said...... "I got hungry."
I tried the raw food diet for a few days....... it was interesting.
There is a good website called From SAD to RAW.... it has recipes and stuff, too. SAD stands for Standard American Diet.
Raw cooking is interesting...... definitely get a dehydrator.
Question: anyone living just off totally raw food out there, and how is it affecting you? 3 years raw and 36 vegan. Love to here your comments however long you have done this
Answer: Wow, 3 years. Congrats :).
I've been vegan for about 6 months, and raw vegan for three of those months. I feel light, energetic, i've lost weight and kept it off, my work outs are more fluent, I don't have to count calories anymore (which is amazing because I've always been obsessed with that). It's just a glorious thing. I'm very excited as well because even my family (of meat eaters) are getting into it. My dad is going to do a 30 day raw vegan "challenge" with me, and I got my brother some raw vegan protein powders for christmas.
What about you? Surely you have something to share for being on this for three years. Tips or advice would be lovely :).
Question: Does anyone actually live the Raw Food Diet lifestyle and why does it HAVE to be a Vegetarian /Vegan diet? Do people who are on this diet actually prefer eating cold food vs. warm?
Why can’t raw meats/fish be included in this diet? I am obviously talking theoretically about safe raw meat free of diseased bacteria. Vegetables can contain poisons from the environment just as likely as an animals meat can contain harmful bacteria’s, so given this theory – why is meat and fish left out of this lifestyle?
happybid - I think you need to reread the question. It was not, what is a Vegan? It was, why does this diet have to be veggie or Vegan?
Heelbell - you too, I know that meats and veggies can have harmful things in them; this is why I was speaking theoretically, as I stated. You can get harmful bacteria at a farmers market, nothing is absolute. Besides I grow my own. This was a question of the raw diet not including meat and fish, (which by the way I would eat steak tartar and sashimi multiple times a week without a problem.) And it's not "obvious that there are a lot of people" on it. I just happend to be a very informed, intelligent person, who likes to learn new things all the time. So next time you want to answer my question I'd appreciate it if you were not so smug and answer the question asked. Not trying to be pissy here but kind of annoid.
Answer: I know of raw foodists who eat raw fish, honey, raw egg, and raw dairy products. So, no, they are not vegan or vegetarian. I don't think people who eat like this comprise the majority of raw foodists, however. I try to incorporate a lot of raw foods into my diet, but it's hard when traveling to do it healthily, and I don't feel it's necessary for me to have a 100% raw diet anyway. I have had some really excellent dishes at raw food restaurants, including the best strawberry cream pie I can ever imagine eating (restaurant in Bangkok). I didn't notice or care that my meal wasn't hot. It was more room temperature than cold, anyway. Think about it: you probably eat plenty of cold foods already. Salads, fruits, etc. It's a very nice way to eat in summer.
Question: is it true that the way to longevity is by eating raw foods. a live food diet?
apparently on live fods you dont have to contribute enzymes from your body because live food has its own enzymes to start and end the digestive process. it does get kinda boring though. like all i can ever seem to eat on a live food diet is bananas and apples (i hate avocados), i also have nuts (which i find extremely boring and mundane to eat, and seeds (boringggggg)
you need to be a special kinda person to sustain a live food diet for months lol.
Answer: It can greatly extend your life span.
Yet we continue taking in dead food, thinking that's a good thing to feed a LIVE person.
Go figure.
Question: Starting a Raw/Living Foods diet but I HATE fish & would like to use chicken & dairy. Is it possible? I have decided that it is time to become healthier and try to lose weight. I am interested in the Living/Raw Foods diet but I eat a large amount of Beef / Dairy and chicken and pork. I need to know if it would harm me to include organic dairy and chicken and very little beef and pork. It will be very hard to switch completely...
What are my options I HATE FISH except canned tuna and that cant be healthy with all the mercury...
Answer: If you wanted to eat raw meats you can eat...
Beef (but you shouldn't eat much of that cooked or not)
Fish
Ostrich (the only poultry that you can eat raw "safely")
If you want raw dairy then I suggest getting yourself a goat.
