Question: is there really a form of Resveratrol with activated fetal tissue or stem cells in it? that extends life? i've been taking regular resveratrol for a few months now, and it's worked wonders for me, but a guy was telling me the government has a secret resveratrol pill that is mixed with fetal tissue that they think will let people live to be 1000 years old ... nonsense correct? or is there anything to this?
Answer: That is silly. The primary ingredient and most active ingredient in Resveratrol is....Resveratrol. Whether fetal tissue will work for reversing the aging process when taken in pill form or not is probably still to be determined, but the fact is that the government has nothing to do with fetal stem cell research. There are a few privately-funded clinics who do, but a mixture of that with Resveratrol would most likely be far down on their list of priorities, with finding cures for common diseases being first and foremost.
Question: What is the best source for resveratrol pills? What is the BEST maker of resveratrol tablets? I've heard that some tablets are completely useless. What are the ones that are most pure and effective?
Answer: I've used all sorts of resveratrol pills and none of them seems to work. I recently found out that resveratrol is useless if they see any oxygen because it will break up the molecule. Also like the guy above me said, you will never get the full effect of pills because it doesn't break down easily so your body doesn't get to absort all of it. What works is Genesis, my entire family uses it. We drink only an ounce every morning and I love it.
Question: Does Barbara Walters think Resveratrol is a "miracle" pill? I saw this question online, and I don't know the answer! What's the answer?
Whoops ok this is just what category it said to put it. How can I change category?
Answer: This is a pet forum, take this question elsewhere.
Question: Can resveratrol pills make you look younger? And if they can, how much younger, how long to take and what is the best company to buy from?
Answer: There is not magic pill that will make you look younger and people are still opting for plastic surgery to look and feel young. Resveratrol can help to help you look a bit younger, but make sure that you take the necessary steps to a healthy body. The right diet and exercise also need to be included. Take a look around at the various supplements out there and choose the perfect one that is designed with your body type in mind.

Question: Anti-aging pill with resveratrol? I've been looking around about a chemical called resveratrol. Its a chemical in red wine thats been proven to extend the life of animals and the company Sirtris is working on using the chemical to actually extend human life. Could this really be done? And what are your thoughts on it.
I personally think it would be pretty cool if they could extend life from about 100 years to maybe 150 or 200 or maybe even a little more, just as long as the person would feel good and not just be an old person in pain and who can't die
Answer: well this would be all fine and dandy, except you life isn't really extended in a positive way. for example, you will still stop being able to reproduce at the same age, and your youth wouldnt be extended... would wants to be all wrinkly and old for 50 - 100 extra years? your quality of life would be terrible.
it would be lovely to be able to have youth for longer, be able to reprodice till an older age, so you can get a career established and accomplish more before having children and wahtenot, but it's just not possible.
also, the world would be over populated. we die for a reason
damn, now i'm all depressed about getting old and dieing. thanks.
Question: There are so many Resveratrol pills on the market. Which is the best? They will all tell you they are the best but which is really the best...most reliable? I'm not sure which one to go with.
Answer: dont bother

Question: Has enyone tried resveratrol? does it really work? Is this anti-aging pill safe?
Answer: I've been drinking a juice that has 100 mg of Resveratrol per serving (250 glasses of red wine) along with 20 other superfruits. I've felt increased energy and just know that I'm making my body happier by receiving all of the antioxidants. I know of two people who have experienced incredible benefits from getting off of his cholesterol pill to no longer being wheelchair bound due to MS. I'm not sure about advertising rules on here, so if you want to know the name of the juice I drink PLEASE email me!! I'd be happy to help and answer any other questions.
Question: Resveratrol Absorbtion In The Body? I have read several articles stating that Resveratrol gets metobolized in the digestive system. They did blood tests and very little of it actually ends up in the blood stream. When they had people put a resveratrol pill under their tongues to dissolved, blood tests showed that there was plenty of resveratrol in the blood stream to be effective. My queestion is, does anybody know anywhere that sells resveratrol pills that will dissolve in your mouth?
Answer: http://www.rezmelts.com
Question: Has anyone tried Resveratrol? It's a new pill promoted by Dr Oz.? on the Oprah show. I just don't know, there's so many scams. Sounds too good to be true. So probably is. Has anyone tried this? Only comment, if you tried.
Answer: Niecey, yes, this is true - resveratrol is a powerful antioxidant, but it's more than just that. I am not touching here the stuff about cancer prevention, Altzheimer prevention and so on as to prove this now is impossible. Yet the research of resveratrol benefits has proved the fact that it increased life longevity for mice, flies and fish. It is too early too say now whether it will increse the life expectance for human beings, but the benefits of taking resveratrol supplements have been proved by many people. If you want to feel better, no matter how old you are, than resveartrol supplements are for you.
As for the scam complaints that you may find on some resveratrol suplements, they are mainly about inability to cancel you free trial. If you don't want to be a victim of the "resverartrol scam",
have this checklist:
make sure you have read the Terms and Conditions;
make sure you understand them and;
get the contacts of the company in case you decide to cancel your subscription. Make sure they are active and you can contact real people.
Question: Anyone who knows about resveratrol please respond!!! Sounds like a miracle pill!? I've been reading about the the many benefits of taking resveratrol...so, it's very tempting to purchase this supplement that is promising the possiblity of weight loss, anti-aging properties, and a high amount of antioxidants. ANYTHING that you know about it is welcome in your response. I currently take 10mg of Lexapro daily, should there be any concern regarding drug interactions(specifically Lexapro)? Any of you taking resveratrol, please give me your comments...have you notices some positive results?
Answer: I am getting resveratrol in an all natural whole food drink that I take daily. The product on the whole has been awesome - it has improved my health. Getting resveratrol through whole food is much more beneficial and safer for you than taking supplements. You can view information here: http://www.healthywithvia.com
Question: How much resveratrol is in a bottle of red wine? I was reading an article online that said resveratrol was the chemical in red wine that kept your heart healthy. I'm looking on the internet for pills of it, but I would like to know how much is typical in a bottle of red wine to understand which supplements are providing a significant amount.
Answer: A 5 oz glass of red wine contains about .24-1.89mg of resveratrol. It varies greatly, because it depends on the manufacturing of the wine, and how long the grapes were left on the vine. Resveratrol is a naturally occurring chemical substance that is usually found in grape skins. Japanese knotweed is also another major source of this bio-chemical. The buzz around this chemical is because scientists have experimented with it in many Resveratrol trials and have conclusive evidence that Resveratrol is very effective in preventing the occurrence of many life threatening diseases. Resveratrol extracts are said to be particularly useful preventing cancer, Alzheimer's and cardiovascular infractions. These are three of the most debilitating diseases that are prevalent today. For those of us who are not able to eat the foods that are rich in Resveratrol, there are many over the counter drugs that have synthesized Resveratrol supplements in tablet form. Pure Resveratrol works very effectively to protect our bodies from diseases by eliminating harmful free radicals.
They also have anti inflammatory properties and this is especially good for keeping our heart and other internal organs in good condition. To enjoy the benefits that this drug has to offer, you have to maintain a steady rate of consumption of either food rich in this chemical or consume Resveratrol supplements regularly. Pure Resveratrol also has supplementary benefits as they are very effective in removing the cellular wastes from our body. One of the major causes of cardio vascular disease is the build up of plaque in the arteries present in our heart. This substance is sticky and does not leave the walls of the artery easily. The Resveratrol extract has the property of binding with this stubborn plaque and altering its cellular structure so that it becomes easily removable. This has a valuable effect in improving the vigor of our heart and helps us to maintain a healthy body.
While Resveratrol is safe for consumption and has no toxic side effects, you must consult the doctor before consuming Resveratrol supplements if you are an expecting mother or if you are on a course of antibiotics for some other ailment. Another important point that you have to take a note of is the dosage. The most common mistake people make when they take over the counter drugs like those with Resveratrol is that they do not keep a check on the number of tablets that they pop in. This practice has to be avoided and you have to take in these supplements as per the instructions mentioned in the packaging.
The efficacy of these supplements depends on the potency of pure Resveratrol that they contain. This chemical loses its strength when subjected to sustained heat. So, you have to remember to keep your supplements away from sunlight and other sources of heat. Most of the Resveratrol that is extracted for commercial production comes from the outer skin of red grapes. The red grapes extract is then concentrated and chemically stabilized before being made available as easy to consume supplements. Apart from supplements, the potency of Resveratrol is also high in red wine. But the Resveratrol supplements are cheaper and more convenient to carry around when you are traveling. Visit this site

Question: What do you think of Resveratrol? Studies in mice and fish indicate that taking Resveratrol turns back the hands of time, effectively doubling the lifespan of those animals that take it. It supposedly repairs cell and DNA damage. Have we finally found the elusive "Fountain of Youth" in a pill?
What is your experience with this? Does it truly help or does it hurt one who takes it?
Thank you.
Answer: Its a gimmick like HGH was
Question: The "skinny" on Resveratrol? The big question about Resveratrol pills is whether they work. For that matter, what kind of "work" do they do? The high-quality Resveratrol supplements are expensive. Before I pay that much money I need to have scientific evidence that the benefits are worth the cost.
Okay, Resveratrol contains anti-oxidants. So what? It's got to offer more than that because so do all fruits and vegetables, which are much less expensive. I'm not interested in "testimonials" on websites that sell the product. I'm not interested in the unsupported opinions of Oprah and Dr. Oz. I want to see results of properly conducted, unbiased studies on humans (not mice).
So my question is: Can anyone point me to such studies? For all the buzz about Resveratrol I can't seem to find any! Are studies underway but not completed yet?
This is my first time on Yahoo Answers and I'm surprised at the quick responses!
Oldtimer, I glanced at some of the studies you pointed to. It seems that most of the human studies deal with specific diseases, such as heart disease and diabetes. That's fine as far as it goes. Maybe I should clarify my question as: What can an average, healthy human adult expect to get from taking a commercially available (OTC) form of Resveratrol? Are there any studies that have looked at this?
Answer: Actually, yes. There are 135 listings at PubMed, which you can find at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez (just type Resveratrol into the search at the top). There is a lot of good information about those studies there and you can see the doctors and researchers listed on each one to verify each of them.
Also, yes, Resveratrol is an antioxidant, but it's a much higher potency antioxidant than most fruits on the market... it would be like comparing a grape to a watermelon in most cases. Resveratrol also has benefits for heart health that most fruits don't have and is actually one of the constituents of Red Wine that help heart health.
I hope I helped!
Question: Christians, if you could take a pill that might allow you to live to be 150 in good health, would you take it? the average life span of humans has doubled in the past 1000 years because of improvements in health care including everything from clean water, antibiotics, vaccines, sterile surgical environments, etc....
since we take vitamins, vaccines, antibiotics and interfere in every other way we can to extend life, would you take a pill to possibly double you life span if you could live in good health.
by the way, this is in the near future and proven to be possible.
fyi:

Answer: The question is if they really are enjoying life to want to keep living? Looking that many people go through depression and commit suicide, how many are just quitting on life and can't even find a sense of purpose for living. Why would they want to live longer... just so they can be on the slums more... you may take a pill to live longer but without Jesus you are not truly living life... I wouldn't take the pill or use it.. I would let my life take it's course and I can't wait for the coming of Jesus... Joh 3:16 For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life.
I have eternal life in Jesus, yes my body well be gone when the world ends or when I die but my spirit will continue living... I have eternal life in Jesus, eternal love and eternal happiness in Jesus... I have all I need and I will not perish because I believe Jesus did die for my sins on that cross and he died for everyone else too. Thanks to him I have a relationship with God which is why we are here on earth on the first place. No need for the pill.
God bless you =D
Question: anyone tried resveratrol -- anti aging pills-?
Answer: Yes, I have, and Resveratrol is a fantastic antioxidant. Free radicals can damage all the tissues in the body (including the skin) and antioxidants help to fight against those free radicals, but I wouldn't say it prevents aging by any leap.
Since I know this is the followup question, Resveratrol is Resveratrol, no matter which company sells it as long as that company is legit and has good quality. You can get it from any health food store (GNC, Whole Foods, etc) and many other places, but I would be careful about online ads for it.
Unfortunately, Resveratrol is one of a few high powered antioxidants that are fads right now and when there is a fad, there are always people and companies that take advantage of that popularity and sell their own piece of it. The unfortunate part is that too many of those people/companies make baseless claims in order to sell their product faster and for higher prices.
It's best to get a product like this from a company that you know and/or trust. If you'd like, I can also point out a few companies out there if you can't find any in your local area. Good luck and I hope I helped!
