Question: How to make store bought pickles less salty? I hate it sometimes when after eating more than 5 pickles, the water starts getting even saltier in your taste buds. Is tehre a wayt o make the pickle less salty?

Answer: Add more potatoes, take out 1 cup of broth and add in one cup of unsalted broth, one pinch of sugar, and one pinch of paprika..should fix the problem.

Answer: Put some chopped up potatoes in to absorb the salt. My husband taught me that trick.

Answer: Absolutely - but it would take more time. Add a carrot and let the carrot cook in it.
The easier way would be not to use the entire amount of the mix with the water.
Remember the carrot though. It comes in handy if you really mess up a batch of tomato sauce for pasta. The carrot absorbs the salt.

Answer: If no salt was added . Then all you can do is to add more bulk, It won't change the salt (content) but will reduce it's (concentration).

Answer: How about putting in a pot with potatoes, simmer for a couple of hours, the potatoes will draw out the salt and then you can use the water and cooked potatoes to make your soup. That would flavor your soup and remove the salt!! I might try this myself this weekend.

Answer: Yeah its A. It has to do with osmosis. Higher concentration of solute on the outside makes the water want to dilute it. SInce no other water was dranken, the water has to come from the cell.
Question: How can I cook a corned beef brisket without it tasting salty? I never use the little bag of spices that comes with the meat. I drain the juices twice and still my brisket is salty.
Answer: When i cook corned beef i use the one with the spices on it and i put it in a crock pot filled 1/2 way with water and the rest with apple juice then i put potatoes in. let it cook all day when your at work on Med or high temp. come home and put 1 head of cabbage in i cut mine in to 1/4 Pisces and let boil for about 1 to 1 and 1/2 hours. then slice and serve. MMMMMMM gooooood i can't Waite until st. patty's day. I make sandwiched with the left overs i never have a problem with it being salty. maybe see if the store has a low sodium corned beef or try getting it from a local butcher sense it would be fresher it should not need as much salt to help preserve it.
