Question: What are the long term side effects of constantly mixing xanax and alcohol? What are the long term side effects of constantly mixing Xanax and alcohol? I don't want to hear that it's bad for you, I want more detail. I know both are suppressants, but what happens if you are constantly mixing the two? If every time you are drinking you have some Xanax? I know the immediate side effects of mixing the two but I want to know if there are any long-term side effects.
Answer: liver damage (=death)
Question: What are the side effects of ejaculation and how often should I do it? Im 17 years old and have been ejaculating a couple times a day lately just due to seeing hot women, etc. Anyways, I was wondering if I should continue ejaculating 2 to 3 times a day or if I should stop due to the side effects? I have read some of the side effects but havent been able to get a complete list. Please help. Thanks in advance for your help!
Answer: I have never heard of any side effects of ejaculation other than a nice nap or a good night's sleep. Your body will tell you when/if you are ejaculating too much. Either you will not be able to get an erection until the seminal reservoir is somewhat replenished or your penis will become so chaffed, you won't feel like masturbating for a day or so. Other than that there are no rules. Damn, I wish I could still ejaculate 2 to 3 times a day!
Question: When do you start having side effects from CLOMID? I started taking clomid today 100mg. I took it at 1 pm, and it's now 2:48 pm. I haven't had any side effects. When do you typically start noticing side effects from clomid? When your taking the pill? Or during your ovulation period? I am also taking 2000mg of Metformin, and I have no side effects from that either.
Answer: I ended up with side effects within two days from Clomid. Some women dont get any side effects at all though.
Question: How long do antiviral medicine side effects start to kick in? I'm on acyclovir or something medicine for shingles. The side effects are upset stomach/vomitting, and I really hope I don't vomit. I'm on my 4th dosage, and I haven't really had any side effects yet...does that mean that I am okay? When do side effects usually kick in?
Answer: Generally, aciclovir is well tolerated in most individuals. If you haven't experienced any adverse reactions thus far, chances are you won't.
Question: How to minimize side effects of blood donation? When I used to donate blood, I would feel tired the next
day, but I had no other significant side effects. I always
drink plenty both before and after donating, but the last
two times I've had a low-grade fever (chills/sweats) and
significant joint stiffness for two days afterward.
Are there other steps I can take to minimize thes side
effects?
One of the answerers pointed to a web
site which states there are no side
effects. So do I believe an expert
or do I believe my "lying eyes" :-)
I've gotten slightly sick both of the
last two times.
I wonder if the beds in the blood
mobile could be a vector for the flu
virus? Maybe the puncture wound makes
me more susceptible to infection?
I will mention that the Red Cross
person who took my blood did mention
that some people report "flu-like"
symptoms after donation, so maybe I'm
not the only person to experience this.
Answer: Are there any known side effects of blood donation?
No. Till date, there has been no medical proof of the side effects that blood donation might bring. Many have gone through the process without a hinch and from then saved the lives of million others.
Blood donation is quick and safe and does not cost you a single cent.
I suggest you discuss this problem with your doctor.
Question: How fast do side effects start after starting a medication? I just started taking an anti anxiety medication Friday I took one on fri and one on sat. Yesterday I had a headache ( rare for me but a common side effect for the pill I'm on) and this morning I vomited. Is it possible for me to feel the side effects this quick?
Answer: I think a day is enough time for side-effects to kick in. Even on slow-acting drugs, side effects tend to start before the good effects. Be careful with these drugs... the side effects may cancel out the good effects. You need to monitor yourself closely.
Question: What are the side effects of sexual activity? Side effects of sexual activity?
I noticed when I ejaculate, afterwards I get tired etc...
However, when I do so there is a period of time even after I nap that I feel less motivated than usual, also, I am not as quick as when I go on periods of sexlessness. Anyone find they have siilar side effects? I am also curious about how ejaculating effects you. Guys and girls, also specify your sex please.
Also, what I want to know about isnt the immediate side effect how about AFTER you wake up? Do you notice a drop in intelligence, or lack of motivation?
Answer: Some athletes do not have sex for a week before a big game or activity. Sex releases powerful hormones that make a person feel sleepy, warm and fuzzy. Normal . I am a woman.
Question: How do you deal with sexual side effects of antidepressants? Nearly everyone I know who are on antidepressants have some level of sexual side effects. I understand that medications have side effects, but I've been on many different antidepressants over the past 3 years and it seems that I have problems with orgasms. I either have very muted orgasms or nothing at all.
My question: How do you deal with the sexual side effects? My doctor has tried dosage adjustments, drug changes, all sorts of different combinations of drugs, but it seems that antidepressants affect my orgasm trigger. Please serious answers only. Thanks. If you were able to overcome this problem, how do you do it?
I give all the medications a fair trial, none was less than 3 months. It was my doctor who decides when it's proper to make a change. I've been on antidepressants for years and side effects are part of the drug trial. This question only addressed the sexual side effects and how to deal with it. I'm fully aware of what is a fair trial of these meds. Please, I'm not look for an opinion on just side effects. I would assume that most of the people on an antidepressant will relate to this and they might have some useful advice on how to deal with issues specifically sexual side effects.
Answer: All SSRI medications potentially have this effect. This occurs because these medications are selective for a protein called the serotonin transporter, but they are not completely selective and they also affect other neurochemical systems in the brain. The degree to which this happens varies from person to person. In my case I have not only been unable to orgasm when taking these medications, but I am rarely able to attain an erection.
One way around this is to take medications that raise serotonin without targeting the serotonin transporter.

SPECT imaging, a type of brain scan, has proven that these supplements are as effective if not more effective than many of the traditional medications. They also have very few side effects.

Question: How long are these side effects supposed to last on this medication? This is a revision of my previous question. I have been taking Benicar HCT for well over a year. I have occassional dizziness and drowsiness. (I know that it is from this medication because it says so on the side of the bottle.)
How long are these side effects suppose to last?
If I'm supposed to have these for the duration of the treatment, is there a way to lessen their effects?
Answer: With regards to dizziness, it has been my observation of my own response that there are two different conditions. One is almost always postural and is benign. Being attentive to the possibility of dizziness, light-headed, fainting, and blacking out with change of position plus insuring adequate hydration and some salt intake is usually all that is necessary.
If you salt your food to taste and eat any processed foods, you should be getting enough sodium.
Some folks have reported they were able to increase their very low blood pressure by increasing their fluid intake (6-8 cups per day of any fluids is usually enough) to maintain adequate hydration and increasing their salt intake. Foods that are canned, pickled, processed or cured are high in salt. You can also drink 1/4 tsp of salt in a large glass of water to increase sodium.
Also, I would strongly advise you to stay away from Gatorade for I do not recommend the use of Gatorade or similar products. Even the ones that are low in sugar contain extra potassium which you may not need.
paaatches --Discussing your concerns with you physician is a must. Never change your dosage or stop taking your medication without your doctor’s approval. If something isn’t working out for you, you feel something is wrong then you get your doctor on the phone and you tell them what’s going on.
Question: What side effects actually occurred to you while using Clomid? I am about to use Clomid for the first time & would like to know if anyone had any major side effects.
Answer: I had no major side effects but i had very sore and tender breasts alot, was told by gyno that's a good sign that clomid is working. Also around ovulation time i had cramps, some months were quite mild and other months i just about fell over in pain but it was well worth it! After 5 rounds i was pregnant = ] You may find yourself a tad emotional too. There are internet forums on clomid with many stories from other ladies and that's good to read sometime.
Question: What side effects can you get with the depo needle? I recently got the Depot needle contraceptive and i was wondering what side effects other women have had from it. Also, what usually happens with your periods? My doctor says its different with everyone.
Answer: I personally have never had the depo shot, but have a lot of close friends that take it. All of their periods went away after 2-3 months of being on the shot. And right before their next shot was due, they would bloat up and would look about 3 months pregnant. Other than that they had no other side affects. Hope this helps!
Question: What side effects can I expect when switching from a low dose birth control pill to a higher dose? I only used to get my period about every 3 months and they were extremely painful so I went on the pill. I've been on a pill with 20mg of estrogen for about 7 months and my periods are two weeks long, which is kind of irritating, so my gynecologist is switching me to a pill next month that has 35mg of estrogen. What side effects, if any, can I expect?
Answer: You may still continue to notice some breakthrough bleeding for a short time while your body tries to adjust to the medication. You may also notice symptoms of a yeast infection if the body reacts to it as being too high in the amount of hormones in the medication. The other thing that you may notice is a sick feeling in your stomach, but the easiest way to deal with this side effect if it should occur is to change the time you take the pill. By taking it in the evening such as at around dinner time it helps to bring the sick feeling under control.

Question: What are the harmful side effects to ingesting magic mushrooms? Someone I know really loves taking shrooms periodically, but is worried about any harmful side effects. What are the short term and long term (negative) side effects to taking psychedelic mushrooms?
Answer: psychedelics like shrooms and acid kill A LOT of brain cells. it could also lead to permanent brain damage.
Question: How to manage the side effects of abilify and welbutrin? I am diagnosed as ADD, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Clinically Depressed and am on Abilify and Welbutrin. Some side effects I've experienced are weight gain, extreme fatigue (sleeping 9-11 hours a night), and slight hair loss. Does anyone know how to manage these side effects while not going off the medicine completely? I've found it near impossible to lose weight while on these medicines especially.
Answer: Speak with the doctor about the fatigue. He/she may be able to adjust the dosage or the timing of the meds for that. Diet and exercise are the first line of defense for medication weight gain. For antipsychotic (Abilify being an antispsychotic) weight gain, I've heard that you could add a medication called metformin (Glucophage) but I don't know how well it works as I've never tried it and I don't know if a doc would do this (look it up online; there should be articles on the combinations of antipsychotics and metformin). With the hair loss I don't know. For that, you may either have to deal with it or switch meds. I've never had that happen to me on the numerous medications I've been on for my bipolar disorder. I hope some of my info helps and I wish you best of luck in your treatment in the road ahead...
