Sugar And Fat
Question: How do you control your desire for sugar, fat, and carbs when trying to lose weight? Like when you're really trying to fight it, but you seriously just want to go out and scard down a chocolate cake and a big iced caramel macchiato from starbucks!
any foods or snacks that can help curb that desire?
Answer: think of what's important to you, 3 minutes of sensory pleasure as you eat chocolate, or losing weight. the key is to not obsess about it.. if you want to eat a bit of chocolate then eat some but don't go crazy and eat it all in a moment of guilty panic.
if you really can't keep your mind off it then go and buy a lollipop. itll take you 20 or so minutes to eat and by that time you'll be out of starbucks and the macchiato won't be calling your name :)
Question: Calories sugar and fat in common foods? For school, I am doing a presentation on the large amounts of calories sugar and fat in foods that we eat every day (muesli bars, flavoured yoghurts ect.) I am struggling to think of foods that are commonly eaten that have high amounts of sugar, fat, calories ect. Could you tell me foods that you used to eat alot until you found out how bad they are for you (please include the fat, calorie and sugar index) and what you now eat as a substitute?
Answer: Foods high in fat - chocolate, ice cream, takeaway foods, deep fried chips, using butters and oils for cooking
Sugar - soft drinks, lollies, chocolates
Replace such foods with fruit, crackers + cheese,
To work out the amount of fat and sugar in such foods check out the website below. Its an online database of foods (its Australian but they will be similar everywhere). Also read the back of food labels of products that you eat.
Question: What is the difference between fat, sugar and calories? are they all the same. What if you consume too much food that does not contain fat and sugar of any kind in it will you still be at risk of diabetes. The nutrition information on every food when it mentions the amount of calories does that count also the calories that comes from fat and sugar as well.
Answer: A calorie is a unit of energy that the body usually uses in the form of glucose. Calories come from fats, carbohydrates, and proteins. Fat is an organic compound that contains 9 calories per gram. Types of fats include heart healthy mono and polyunsaturated fats and unhealthy saturated and synthetic trans fats. Sugar is a carbohydrate, so it contains 4 calories per gram. Natural sugars such as those is fruits, vegetables, whole grain breads, and dairy products are very healthy. Sugars such as sucrose, honey, molasses, and cane juice are not necessarily bad for you but are best used in moderation. Monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats are healthy for you and should add up to about 25% of your daily calorie intake. Limit your intake of artery-clogging saturated fat and completely avoid trans fat. If that is not possible for you try to keep your daily intake under 1-2 grams. Your daily diet should generally contain 25% protein, 25% healthy fat, and 50% carbohydrates (sugars and starches). However this can change depending on your dietary needs and activity level.
Question: how much diet coke sugar level is, fat level? It says 0 calories n it is about 1 calories.? If there is no sugar ( fats) level, how to we find them sweet. Is the sweetner used has 0 fats , calories and we can drink them like water on diet basis.
Answer: Diet Coke hasn't got any sugar, instead it uses a combination of artificial sweeteners (Aspartame and Acesulfate). Aspartame alone is 200 times sweeter than sugar, so very little is needed to acheive the same sweetness of sugar filled drinks. The calories in Diet Coke come from the sweeteners, although there are hardly any compared to sugary soft drinks. Coca-Cola Zero doesn't have sugar in its recipe either although it does have a zero calorie count.
Important note: Soft drink must never replace water in your diet.
Question: What are some good foods that keep you filled up and arent high in fat, sugar, and calories? Im looking for some fat burning, yummy foods that arent high in fat, sugar, and calories.
So do you have any ideas?..other than 100 calorie packs please.
Answer: Vegetables, fruit, fat free popcorn, sugar free jello, ice pops, low calorie chocolate mousses and suagr free low calorie lollipops.
Question: If you dont eat much food/none, do you absorb more calories/sugar/fat content when you eat again? Ive been trying to find out about absorbing nutirents and fat for a health assignment. help plz?
Answer: When you don't eat, your body goes into a kind of "starvation" mode and it will conserve as much fat and energy as possible. When you eat, your body always takes as much as it can. It will just use it differently if your body thinks you are starving.
Question: I am a male, 24 years old. For a good diet, what is too much as far as carbs, sugar, fat etc.? I jog at least twice a week and ride a bike at least once, and stay pretty active. To stay on a good diet what should be my daily limit as far as carbs, sugar and fat?
Answer: Get practical estimates for your daily dietary carbohydrate intake by
using this calculator, based on age, height, gender and frame size:

Find the right amount of fat recommended for your diet, using this
calculator, based on age, height, gender and frame size:
http://www.healthcalculators.org/calculators/fat.asp
you actually do not need any sugar at all, you will get good fructose from fruit. If you do want eat some, a maximum recommended daily intake (Daily Value) for sugar of 40 grams--ten teaspoons.
Question: Which of these,Calories, Sugar, Fat, Saturates or Salt, are the main causes of spots? Also does drinking a lot of water help prevent and get rid of spots?
Answer: No scientific research has shown that certain foods can cause acne, but if you notice that spots increase after you eat certain things, it makes sense to avoid them
It's important to keep spot-prone areas clean, so wash the affected area twice a day with an unperfumed cleanser. The skin needs a certain amount of oil to maintain its natural condition, so it's best to use gentle soaps and not to scrub your skin too hard when washing.
Question: How many grams MAX of fat and sugar should we have a day when TRYING TO LOSE FLAB? The following, how many max a day when trying to lose flab?

Question: I need recipes for low sugar/fat fruit smoothies.? I really like fruit smoothies, but many popular ones have crazy amounts of sugar in them and I'm trying to lose weight. Any suggestions on low sugar smoothies is appreciated.
P.S. If it has Splenda in the recipe, it's cool.
Answer: Here's an article I wrote for my basic smoothie plan (not a recipe, but an easy plan you can follow):
http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/248721/you_can_make_your_own_smoothies_without.html
The ingredients are so simple (and adjustable) that you can use the plan to make any kind of smoothie, but here is an example:
--Pour 1/2 c vanilla soy milk into a blender.
--Add a large handful of ANY frozen fruit or frozen fruit blend.
--Add about a tablespoon of Splenda or honey.
--Blend until smooth and creamy.
You may need to add more sweetener, depending upon the sweetness of the fruit you have added. You can also one or more optional ingredients, such as ground flaxseed, yogurt, and more.
You don't need ice with this recipe because the fruit is frozen and it provides the frostiness that is needed for a smoothie. I really like this smoothie plan because it is super easy to remember and I don't have to have a recipe in front of me. Plus, it is very nutritious and low in sugar and fat. Enjoy!
:) Michelle
Question: Which would be a healthier snack - which is worse fat, sugar or sodium? I am really hungary. It is 2:30 and i am trying to make a snack choice. I was going to run to Panera and get some soup, 110 calories, low in fat (about 3g), high in sodium, 3g protien, 4g fiber, and slighly high in sugar (about 8g).
Or I have some 100 calorie packs - 100 calories, 6g of fat, 1g saturated fat, 1g sugar, no fiber, and 2g of protein.
Which would you suggest? Which is the worse of the 3 evils, sugar, sodium or fat?
Answer: wholesome low sodium soup... the 100 calorie pack does not have any vitamins nor minerals
worst of all is sodium
Question: Do Europeans burn fat/sugar faster than other people? I remember reading this somewhere and my mother told me that since europeans (like me) love having sugar and fat we burn it faster than other people or something is that true? If so why?
Answer: You don't burn it faster by "loving" it. If that were true, i'd be skinny as a rail. Europeans consume less chemicals in food like america has, like fast food and candy. They eat meals like it's their last, savoring them, they eat a lot more veges, and they are much much more active. :)
Question: How does the human body turn carbohydrates and sugar into fat? You don't need to say that extra carbs and sugar is stored in body and turned into fat because I already know. When one eats too much and not exercise to burn fat, the stored sugar turns into fat and one gains weight.
I just wanted to know how the body does that and its process. And why does the body turn sugar and carbs into fat?
Answer: It depends upon the carbohydrate and amount consumed at the same time.
If its a refined carbohydrate with no fiber like a white flour product such as a cookie, biscuit or a white potato product like crisps and or chips or fries, then the process works to convert fat based on triggering blood sugar.
Example of the blood sugar model is as follows:
Eat slice of cake or you ate too much on your plate with healthy foods.
Step 1 - Blood sugar spike from carbohydrate overload
Step 2 - Pancreas reacts
Step 3 - Pancreas creates Insulin, but too much insulin from carbohydrate overload or refined carbohydrate like cake or a cookie or white potato.
Step 4 - This high insulin spike causes the liver to produce too many triglycerides. Triglycerides are fat in the blood.
Step 5 - Triglycerides cause fat stores which cause the hanging fat on the body. They form fat cells.
On certain people this insulin spike causes "Hypoglycemia" which is a fancy word for Low Blood Sugar. Causes tingling lips, tingling legs, fainting like spells, and lethargy.
The rebound of Hypoglycemia triggers a hormone from your adrenal glands called "Cortisol" which also signals fat stores around the stomach, waist and hips.
How to avoid this problem?
Eat high fiber carbohydrates. Snack healthy in between meals, and eat just enough of healthy foods on your plate to feed one person.
Eat foods closest to their natural state.
Stay away from white flour products and white potatoes.
Google "Low Glycemic Eating Chart" to see what foods to choose from.
Glyco means sugar. Glycemic means sugar reaction. Either high or low. High for refined foods and low for whole foods.
Question: How is Malabsorption of sugar and fat treated medically? I have been finding recently that I am getting all the symptoms of sugar and fat absorption, plus my blood glucose levels seem to be constantly low no matter what I eat.
I has not actually been diagnosed, but if I am right and this is what is happenng, which I am pretty certain it is, how would it be treated?
Answer: Please specify what your situation is . .symptoms of absorption or malabsorption of sugar and fat. You do realize that eating or not eating is what you are talking about? You are not making any sense.
Further, after eating, every calorie consumed is converted to a type of glucose, that is, a simple sugar. So how would you know about your blood sugars?
Question: how to convert calories into protein, carbohydrates, sugar, fat, saturated and sodium? im doing my food c/w and i need to convert calories into protein, carbohydrates, sugar, fat, saturated and sodium and when i checked a website it said:
Fat: 1 gram = 9 calories
Protein: 1 gram = 4 calories
Carbohydrates: 1 gram = 4 calories
but im still not sure how to do it can some one plzzz help me!! thank uu
Answer: you cannot convert calories into protein etc, calories are a measure of how much energy you can get from a certain amount of food, people concerned about their weight use the calorie count of food to help control their food intake because if you take in more food than your body is using it can be stored as excess fat
all you can do is look at the break down of the contents of a food item and then calculate how many calories it could provide, for example if you had a ready meal that contained 100g of protein, 150g of carbohydrate and 30g of fat its calorific value would be (100 x 4) + (150 x 4) + (30 x 9) = 1270 or about half the energy intake needed by a woman for a day
Question: is sugar or fat worse for your body if your watching your weight? Ive heard that sugar is worse because it effects your blood sugar level causing you to eat more and store fat rather than burning it. The only problem with fat is calories. That your body can use fat for energy and is not all that bad if you dont eat to much. Can someone tell me if this is true or not?
Answer: Both sugar and fat are used for energy. If you eat too much of either or both the extra is stored as fat.
The major issue for losing or maintaining weight is calories. Eat more than you need to fuel daily activities, you gain weight.
