Question: SYMPTOMS.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!? if i had sex saturday and sunday.. when would i start to get pregnancy symptoms if im pregnant?
thank you.
Answer: You will most likely not experience any symptoms until you experience the first, which is a missed period. Some women do claim to get sick and weepy a few weeks after intercourse, but pregnancy symptoms differ from person to person. You can't assume, if you feel a little nauseous next Tuesday morning, that you're pregnant.
Find out when your next period is due, okay?
If pregnancy makes you this anxious, hun, please use a contraceptive of some sort next time!
Good luck!
Question: What's the difference between negative and positive symptoms of schizophrenia? i read this about schizophrenia... could someone explain it
Schizophrenia is often described in terms of positive and negative (or deficit) symptoms.[16] The term positive symptoms refers to symptoms that most individuals do not normally experience but are present in schizophrenia. They include delusions, auditory hallucinations, and thought disorder, and are typically regarded as manifestations of psychosis. Negative symptoms are things that are not present in schizophrenic persons but are normally found in healthy persons, that is, symptoms that reflect the loss or absence of normal traits or abilities. Common negative symptoms include flat or blunted affect and emotion, poverty of speech (alogia), inability to experience pleasure (anhedonia), lack of desire to form relationships (asociality), and lack of motivation (avolition). Research suggests that negative symptoms contribute more to poor quality of life, functional disability, and the burden on others than do positive symptoms.[17]
Answer: Yes, there is a difference between positive and negative symptoms in schizophrenia.
People most commonly get confused because they think of a different definition for these terms. Positive=good. Negative=bad. That isn't how it works in schizophrenia. Think of it like money. Positive=you have something. Negative=you don't have something.
So, using that definition, positive symptoms are things that schizophrenics experience that mentally healthy people do not. It is considered positive because they have something that other people do not. Like what you read said, what they have that others don't is hallucinations, delusions, and thought disorders. If you took a test that determined whether or not you hallucinate (there isn't actually a test that does this), a person that hallucinates would test "positive."
Negative symptoms are things that schizophrenics do not have that mentally healthy people do have. Like having a negative bank account...you don't have money but other people do. So, mentally healthy people show emotions on their face that are appropriate to the situation. They have a tone of voice that matches emotions. Schizophrenics can lack these expressions or tones of voice...therefore they have a flat or blunted affect. That lack of emotion and tone is negative because it isn't there. Same goes for the rest of the symptoms. A mentally healthy person is usually capable of speaking (not including mute people obviously). A schizophrenic person may sometimes be unable to speak. Negative because the ability to speak does not exist.
As for the last sentence of what you read, research does show that people who experience a lot of negative symptoms function worse than those who experience mainly positive symptoms. This is because, if you cannot speak or cannot motivate yourself or cannot experience pleasure...you are highly unlikely to be able to hold a job, have lasting relationships, or just socialize with people. The lack of motivation can become so severe that some schizophrenics do not practice normal hygiene routines because they cannot motivate themselves to do so. Or they can't motivate themselves to clean a house or cook meals. This leads to poor quality of life. A high amount of negative symptoms also leads to a higher chance of suicide attempts. If nothing you do brings you pleasure, not even old favorite hobbies...life begins to seem pretty meaningless.
Another really basic difference between positive and negative symptoms is that positive symptoms signal psychosis. Negative symptoms do not.
Question: What are the symptoms of swine flu, from beginning to end? I would like to hear from people that have actually had the swine flu. I would like to know how the symptoms started, the progression of the symptoms, and what symptoms may have appeared at the end. If possible, please be very detailed. Thanks!
Answer: I'm 3rd in my family to have the Swine Flu since July. I am 44/female/otherwise healthy - here are the details.
In July my daughter, 2 ½ years old, was diagnosed with the H1N1 (Type A flu). Her first symptom was fever and then congestion. The doc prescribed Tamiflu. She had no side effects from the medication. At about 48 hours her fever spiked to 106.7 in the middle of the night. Ice cold compresses and a quick dose of Motrin broke her fever. Within 10 minutes her temp was at 104 and quickly thereafter down to 101. Her fever continued for a couple of days, she coughed a lot, barfed once, but was pretty much like any other illness except for the high fever.
Last Friday my son, 4 years old, was diagnosed with the H1N1. His started with a low fever Thursday evening and was up to 103 Friday morning so I took him to doc. He had a 'wet cough' and a high fever of 105.7. Alternating Motrin and Tylenol kept his fever below 101. He has been fever free since early Sunday morning and will return to school in a couple of days. (oh, and he barfed once and had no side effects from the Tamiflu)
Last Saturday I woke up with a headache - feeling hungover. By Saturday night I was congested and had fever of 99.9. Sunday I was more congested, had a wet cough and fever was up to 101. This morning I saw my doc, and tested positive for Type A /H1N1 flu and was prescribed Tamiflu. Tonight I am totally congested, coughing, fever is hovering around 100. I’ve had 2 doses of the Tamiflu with no side effects.
My biggest concern right now is that secondary infection of pneumonia since that what seems to be causing the deaths. My doc wants to see me next week if I have any cough or symptoms remaining so that he can do a chest x-ray to check for pneumonia. (same with my son)
My best advice to everyone is to get to the doctor if have any symptoms of illness - take the Tamiflu if it's prescribed to you (none of us have had any side effects) - and follow up with your doctor after the Tamiflu if you have any congestion remaining so that they can treat you for pneumonia if necessary. Don't be afraid to go to the doctor. Early treatment is essential.

Answer: It sounds like you have a urinary tract infection. You'll need to get atibiotics asap.
Symptoms for pregnancy vary. I had no symptons until after i was two months pregnant...and that was extremely sour breasts.
Question: What are the symptoms of pelvic inflammatory disease? Can anyone tell me the symptoms and causes of pelvic inflammatory disease? How long can you have it before any symptoms begin to show? Is bloody discharge a symptom?
Answer: Symptoms:
Fever
Vaginal pain
Abdominal pain
Unusual vaginal discharge
Pain during sexual intercourse
Irregular menstrual bleeding
Pelvic inflammatory disease is often caused by STDs, usually either Chlamydia or Gonorrhea. Though it can also be caused by miscarriages or a coil (birth control device).
Unfortunately you can have it for months without is causing any symptoms. Many woman first begin to suspect something is wrong when they start seeing symptoms. Sadly, this means that the condition is often discovered too late, which increases the risk of infertility, due to scaring of the fallopian tubes.
In answer to your question, sporadic bloody discharge can be a symptom.
I would suggest you consult your doctor as soon as possible.
Question: What are the symptoms of mono, and how long before the symptoms start to show? I either have really bad allergies or something else.. im not sure. But i was just wondering what the symptoms of mono was, and how long can mono be in your system before the symptoms start to show. I share drink cups and eating utensils all the time, but the last time i kissed a guy was the beginning of July or so. Im a 16 year old female by the way.
Answer: you dont have to kiss someone to get mono. sharing utensils and drinking glasses is enough. mixture of one persons bodily fluids (spit is a great one...hence the whole kissing disease name) with your own is all it takes. the first time i had mono was when i was on a very sad year long no guy and kissing train ride. and i didnt even know anybody with mono at the time.
as for symptoms...i didnt have any for the longest time. my doctor was shocked how bad my mono was when my blood work came back...i felt fine for the most part. the only reason i went in was for swollen lymph nodes in my neck. they were the size of eggs. also exhaustion and a sore throat. rashes fevers chills and headaches as well. not all symptoms show up for everyone though so keep your eye open for any of them.
Question: What pregnancy symptoms did you start to feel BEFORE your missed period? My period is due on Friday, June 10th, and I'm not feeling ANY pregnancy symptoms yet. As a matter of fact, yesterday I had cramps, which would mean I'm probably expecting my period, and not that I'm pregnant. Obviously I'm TTC, so this kinda worries me. What symptoms did you start to feel before your period, and how far before your period did you feel them?
Answer: Pregnancy symptoms? I've never been pregnant so I can't answer this.
Hahahahahahah! Just Kidding! lol! I love messin with you! Actually, it may still be EARLY to have pregnancy symptoms right now. You have period symptoms a week before your period is do?
Hmmm, I mean in a way it all depends on you. Like do your breasts usually get tender and sore during your period? If they do, then no, that wouldn't be a pregnancy sign for you. I mean like period like symptoms that you don't normally get will probably occur due to pregnancy obviously. It all depends on you.
I mean if you don't get a positive in your first pregnancy test then wait a couple days and take it again. Sometimes you recieve a false positive, also, make sure you take your test FIRST thing in the morning when you wake up, mainly so you have fresh urine to take the test. The results will so-to-say be "stronger".
Question: What do these symptoms tell me about my physical condition? So these are the symptoms I've noticed during the past couple of weeks:

2. Lonely, kind of depressed mood and attitude.
3. Lack of energy.
4. Confusion, anxiety.
5. Need to isolate myself from everyone and stay alone.
6. Migraines, dizziness, backaches.
7. Lack of sexual lust.
So what do these symptoms tell me?
Also, if this is of any help, I am 17 years old, and I am a female.

Question: What are the symptoms of Leukaemia and in what order do the occur? Hello...
I need to know what the symptoms of Leukaemia are, and what order they happen in. How soon do they start showing up? Also, what are the most common symptoms, like the ones you experience the most? And, is Leukaemia a form of Lung Cancer?
Answer: Leukemia is a blood cancer and is not a form of lung cancer. The only symptoms my mother had before her diagnosis with leukemia were headaches (unusual for her because she never had headaches). Look up the symptoms: www.google.com -- "symptoms of leukemia"
Question: What are the symptoms of a tubal pregnancy? A friend of mine has not had her period for over three months. She tests every two weeks and the pregnancy results always come back negative. However, she is concerned that she might have a tubal pregnancy, which-from what I hear-are not shown on a pregnancy test-false readings. She hasn't any signs or anything. However, she does not have insurance and does not want to go to the doctor or hospital unless if she has too-if she has a tubal pregnancy she knows this must be taken care of immediately since this is life-threatening. I neek to know the signs so she and I can be aware of them. Is there a gradual showing of symptoms or do they come at once? Also, how long after conception do these symptoms appear?
Answer: With a tubal, there would be intense pain, and by 3 months she would have had symptoms because the size of the baby at this point would have ruptured her fallopian tube. So I seriously doubt it is a tubal pregnancy.
Also, you are incorrect that an ectopic pregnancy doesn't show up on a pregnancy test. It does. The embryo is developing and therefore the pregnancy hormone HCG will be present.
I do not think your friend is pregnant. But if she hasn't had a period in three months when she has otherwise been regular, she needs to go to the doctor, insurance or no. She could have an STD or other illness that has affected her cycles.
Question: What are the symptoms of codeine addiction? My friend Peter is secretly abusing drugs. I discovered his addiction last Friday. I know it's wrong and I want to put a stop into it. I really want to help him get over his hobby. The only problem is, I don't know the drug that he's been taking. All I know is the symptoms he's been experiencing. I have a feeling that he's taking codeine but I'm not really sure. Can anyone tell me the symptoms of codeine addiction that I have to take note of? Thanks.
Answer: People addicted to contain usually feels dizzy and weak. They may also experience constipation, decreased urination, confusion, nausea and euphoria. Codeine also relieves pain. They also have low and week breathing and sexual drives and have cold and sweaty skin. They also itch a lot. Some cases of codeine addiction even leads to unconsciousness, comatose or even death. Tell your parents or his parents about your recent discovery. Help your friend Peter. He's better off without drugs.
Question: What are some symptoms of a wisdom tooth infection before having them extracted? My wisdom teeth started coming in about a week and a half ago and i have the common soreness of the gum. Today I woke up feeling sick, I have a fever along with the worst headache I have ever had and both of my ears hurt. Also I'm having a very hard time swallowing. Are these symptoms of my teeth being infected?
I have looked at symptoms on medical sites but everyone is saying something diferent. I have an appointment with a surgeon but he cant see me until later this month.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Answer: What you have is called "pericoronitis". A condition very common for wisdom teeth that are partially impacted (only partly way out). What is happening is that food and debris is getting between the flap of gum and the tooth. There is a gum infection and it can be extremely painful. Common symptoms are sorness of the overlying gum. Redness and swelling of the gum around the wisdom tooth. Pain traveling up to the ear. Sometimes it can hinder mouth opening and cause swelling on the side of the face. Immediate treatment would involve rinsing with warm salt water several times a day to clean the area. Also an antibiotic. Eventually, the wisdom tooth should be extracted. Otherwise, the infection will come again.

Question: What are the symptoms of warts caused by hpv in the mouth and if no symptoms what do they look like? I'm just curious to what symptoms of warts in your mouth are. I have not involved myself in any oral sex what so ever, but i'm not sure if i came in contact with someone who could possibly had them in their mouth. I tend to overreact but this is a special matter that i would like to not worry about any longer. So if anyone has any info, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Answer: You can't get genital warts in your mouth. Warts look like warts. You might have saw herpes on the mouth and that is very contagious so stay away from that person.
Question: What are the symptoms closely related to my Pins and needles and itchyness? What are the symptoms closely related to my Pins and needles and itchyness?Could this be an HIV infection or a cancer symptom anyone knows.
Answer: If you are female and are pregnant, tingling and numbness, and occasionally weakness in your hands and feet, similar to pins and needles can occur in late pregnancy. This sensation of pins and needles in your hands is known as carpal tunnel syndrome. Carpal tunnel syndrome is due to excess fluid being present in the tissues in your wrist compressing the median nerve. The tingling sensation will affect all fingers except the little one. Lying on your side may help or you may get some relief by raising your arms above your head and moving your fingers around. The condition usually resolves itself completely soon after delivery.
Do you take Tamoxifen to keep breast cancer from returning? Tamoxifen causes itching and a feeling of pins and needles.
Ciguatera poisoning or ciguatera is caused by eating contaminated tropical reef fish. Common nonspecific symptoms include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, cramps, excessive sweating, headache, and muscle aches. The sensation of burning or "pins-and-needles," weakness, itching, and dizziness can occur.
Paresthesia is a term that refers to an abnormal burning or prickling sensation which is generally felt in the hands, arms, legs, or feet, but may occur in any part of the body. The sensation, which arises spontaneously without apparent stimulus and is usually not painful, may also be described as tingling or numbness, skin crawling, buzzing, or itching. Most people have experienced transient (temporary) paresthesia at some time in their lives; it occurs whenever inadvertent pressure is placed on a nerve and causes what many describe as a "pins and needles" feeling. The feeling quickly goes away once the pressure is relieved. For some people, however, paresthesia can become a chronic condition caused by an underlying disorder.
There are a great variety of reasons for the ‘pins and needles’ sensation. You would be advised to consult your doctor if the symptoms continue.
Hope this helps

However I am still suffering what might be withdrawl symptoms 2 months on (anxiety and low ability to concentrate).
How long can alcohol withdrawl symptoms last? In other words are my symptoms from the alcohol withdrawl or from the depression?
Answer: Any withdrawal symptoms from alcohol will be long gone if you last drank 2 months ago. The urge to drink can persist indefinitely but the physical symptoms of withdrawal only last about a week at most.
