Question: How to open a new free Website for our Library? We are having a centralised Technical Library at Nitte Campus In Karnataka
Answer: DO NOT USE ANY FREE WEB SITE. Especially these:
www.freewebs.com
www.geocities.yahoo.com
www.tripod.lycos.com
bravehost.net
I pay 6.95 a month for my hosting with plenty of bells and whistles. These free ones are highly limited for what you may want to do later when using any scripting languages and/or a database. Plus, they are full of bad code added to your pages by their servers. Some have very obnoxious ads/banners.
For a Technical Library, you are going to need a much better server and hosting then any free one can provide you.

Question: What's the deal with Mozzilla Firefox at my public library? They said it was down a month ago. Could the company still be having technical troubles or could it be the library.
Answer: Um Firefox is just fine. I installed a new version 2 weeks ago and just updated it last night. Have you even tried to visit the Website? My guess is the library has a person that installs or fixes the applications on the computers and they havent had anyone able to fix or reinstall the app. Maybe you should talk to a library manager or write a letter to the Library asking them to reinstall Firefox so you can use it. I will give you the actual link to download the latest version and it does work as I tried it. Good luck
Question: How do i add limewire music to my main itunes library? I have downloaded some music from limewire, and it has stored automatically in itunes under shared. How do i add this shared music to my itunes library so that i can sync it with my ipod?
thanks in advance, im not too good with the technical stuff!!!
Answer: use import music folder referring to your specific folder that contains this limewire music. Then go from there. The whole idea behind using iTunes is to both enjoy playing music and exporting it to an iPod for personal listening pleasure. mp3. That is the format you must have it in to put it into your iPod.
Question: Can I create my iTunes library before I actually get my iPod? OK, so I've had bad luck with iPods in the past (not very technical savy) and I'm wondering if I can go ahead and create my iTunes library before I get my iPod (which should be in about a few months). Would it be ok for me to upload some cd's and buy a few songs and then just put them on my iPod when I get it?
Answer: ya it would be easy! it might ask if would you like to add this ipod to your itunes when you first plug the ipod in but then it should be smooth sailing from there on
Question: what does it mean when a library book's status says "recieved"? I always thought that meant that the book is in, but some of the books that I want that say that aren't anywhere to be found.
Next to the status by one of the books, it says "technical services." Does that mean that they have the book somewhere else?
My library confuses me.
Answer: My library has different status messages from these, so I'm just guessing as to the probable / possible meanings.
"Received" could mean that the book has been returned to the library, but that it hasn't yet been put back on the shelves.
"Technical services" sounds like the book could be in for repairs or rebinding.
Your best bet would be to ask a librarian at your library just what the different statuses mean.
Question: What to do with unneeded textbooks and technical books? Cleaning out the closets I decided to get rid of most of the text and technical books I was keeping around from college. I'm wondering what the best thing to do with them is. Would local libraries be interested in these types of books? Are there other organizations that would like them?
Answer: You could give them to a secondhand book store, either a normal one or one specifically for textbooks. You can also talk to a librarian to see if they'll take your books. If all else fails, there's always ebay.

Answer: Why can't I connect with SBC Yahoo! Messenger?
For All Applications, All Operating Systems, and All Domains
We're sorry to hear that you're having problems connecting to our servers. Your SBC Yahoo! Messenger connection information may be incorrect. Follow these steps to configure your connection:
Click the "Messenger" menu in SBC Yahoo! Messenger and select "Connection Preferences."
Enable the "Firewall with no proxies" option.
Select the correct Internet connection type and country from the pull-down menus.
Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the window.
SBCYahoo! Messenger will ask you if you want to sign in again with your new proxy settings. Click the "OK" button.
Enter your Yahoo! ID and password and click the "Sign In" button.
The above configuration works in most situations. (However, if you connect in this way, you won't be able to use the Voice feature.) If this configuration doesn't work, follow these steps:
Click the "Messenger" menu in SBC Yahoo! Messenger and select "Connection Preferences."
Enable the "No network detection" option and then click the "OK" button at the bottom of the window.
Yahoo! Messenger will ask you if you want to sign in again with your new proxy settings. Click the "OK" button.
Enter your SBC Yahoo! ID and password and click the "Sign In" button.
If neither of the above options work, you're probably behind a firewall or proxy server that requires you to enter its address. Follow these steps:
Click the "Messenger" menu in SBC Yahoo! Messenger and select "Connection Preferences."
Enable the "Use proxies" option.
Enter your firewall or proxy server's address and port number. Contact your network administrator (if you're at work), or your Internet service provider (if you're at home) to determine the correct firewall and proxy settings.
Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the window.
Yahoo! Messenger will ask you if you want to sign in with your new proxy settings. Click the "OK" button.
Enter your SBC Yahoo! ID and password and click the "Sign In" button.
If you try all of the steps above and SBC Yahoo! Messenger still can't connect, contact your network administrator, Internet Service Provider (ISP), or the person who initially set up your computer to ensure that your firewall and/or proxy settings are correct.
