Answer: Tribulus is said to increase testosterone but clinical double bind studies have proved that any effect that it has on muscle building is just placebo. Some little effects that are sometimes claimed can be because of slight NO like effect on blood flow (won't build muscle) or may be slight DHEA like characteristics. Finally, even if there was testosterone production increase (say because of the DHEA aspect of it), then it won't be enough to cause any measurable change in muscle synthesis; so most of those expensive supplements with Tribulus mixed with some other stuff won't do much (unless they mix Tribulus with creatine!). As for human growth hormone, well that can do some really cool stuff but it's not really legal (in most places), not available in it's pure form, not cheap, will require some doctor who will keep an eye on your health and more....

Answer: it is an herb/plant that was at one time believed to slightly increase testosterone production but is now confirmed that it does not do so. It does however increase sex drive slightly.
