Question: What is the best veg sources of VItamin E? Need information on the best veg sources of Vitamin E. Please help.
Answer: The cheapest source of vitamin E is from the flour process. Wheat is stripped of the flour and what is left is squeezed to get the oil out. It is almost pure Vitamin E. If you buy whole wheat you will have fresh vitamin E because it is sealed in the wheat husk. Don't buy wheat germ because the oil is removed.

What do you say ?
Answer: I am both a nutrition/dietetics student as well as a very healthy, long-time vegetarian. From what I have read, been taught, and experienced personally- my conclusion is that you can get all of the nutrients you need from a vegetarian or vegan diet. The important thing is to make sure you get all the nutrients you need for *you* no matter what your dietary lifestyle is. Just as the author of the link suggests if you scan over the list of the suggest best sources, you can see that most, if not all, list plant sources as quality sources.
There is a lot of controversy, of course, over what has the highest quality nutrients and a lot more research should be done. You have to take into consideration that each person absorbs (to some extent) nutrients differently based on genetics, lifestyle, diet, etc. There are plenty of omnivores who are iron-deficient, for example. There are also plenty of vegetarians who are over-weight and consume a lot of unhealthy, processed foods. Some vitamins/minerals increase or decrease the absorption of others, also. Vitamin D will help you to increase your absorption of Calcium, for example.
Hope this helps!

Question: What are some good sources of Vitamin C? For an 8 month old? My daughter is ill but not running a fever. She has a cold and my husband wants her to have some Vitamin C. Can she have diluted OJ? Or is there something better for her?
Answer: well commercial baby foods such as fruits and juices usually contain naturally occurring or added vitamin C (check the label)... since most babies get more than enough of the vitamin, they don't require a supplement...
good food sources of vitamin C are oranges and other citrus fruits, strawberries, kiwi, broccoli, spinach, collard greens, tomatoes, and potatoes.
children will get enough vitamin C by drinking four to six ounces of citrus juice (or another type of vitamin C-fortified juice), but they will receive more overall nutrition by eating actual fruits or vegetables...

Question: what are some good sources of vitamin c in veggies for guinea pigs? i asked a question earlier about hair loss and they said that maybe he should have more vitamin C.
Answer: Lots of veggies! They can also have fruit, too, just small amounts.
Veggies:
"Small amounts of fresh vegetables (about a cup a day) are an important additional source of vitamin C and other nutrients. Parsley, romaine lettuce (rather than iceberg, which has less nutritional value and may result in loose stools if given in excess), a small piece of carrot, tomato, green or red bell pepper, spinach, and cantaloupe are popular choices. And clean, pesticide-free grass, clover, dandelion greens, corn husks and silk, will be appreciated by your pet."

Just be warned that any part of the tomato plant, besides the actual tomato, is toxic to guinea pigs.
