Baby
Question: Baby!?!?!?!? I have a few questions...
1. I am pregnant with a baby girl and I already have one nine month old girl named sophia, but when i have the new baby, do you think sophie will feel left out?? How can I make this not happen?
2. What should I name the new coming baby? I was thinking maybe Caroline Grace or Ella Lynn. Any ideas??
3. Can I have sex while pregnant? How?
4. at what age should I stop breast feeding my baby?
5.What age should I start potty training them?
Thankyou so much everyone!!
Answer: 1. It's possible for her to feel left out because she is the oldest, but she's not that old, so she make take to the transition better. Just try to get her involved as much as you can. Talk to her a lot about being a big sister, how cool it will be, how much her little sister will look up to her and want to play with her, and things that will just make her feel good about her new role. 2. I like Ella Grace :x 3. You can absolutely have sex while you are pregnant! During the first few months it should be just the same as having sex while you weren't pregnant. Sometimes later on females feel more comfortable having sex doggy style. Also, be sure to expect in the 7 month + range for the baby to kick after you have sex. Face that now so your not "weirded" out by it when it happens. Don't ever worry about it hurting your baby however, it's not something that hurts, even later on the sack protects it! 4. Breast feeding is something you should stop when your most comfortable. Some suggest around a year, some... depending on your level of "weirdness" suggest to do it until 3-5... because of mother child bonding... and yeah that's a you thing. :) You can however, feed two babies at once if you want, don't worry about that being a problem. http://www.doh.state.fl.us/family/wic/Links/nutrition_and_breastfeeding/nutrition_and_breastfeeding-english.html There are some more pamphlets about breastfeeding that may help!. 5. Potty training really depends on the child. If your child starts to get excited by the idea or show interest, start them, even if it seems a bit early. They don't have to do an over night transistion to using the diaper alone, to going to the potty by themselves all at once. Most children work best with a diaper/big kid undies on just in case, but to let you know when they need to go, to wearing a diaper only at night, to being fully functional little "poop machines". :) Also, there are other things you can do once they get a bit older.. for instance.. around 3-4 they probably really need to be potty trained, because of starting preschool/head start, if they haven't been "trained" yet. You can do things like hole "potty parties" and things of that nature. http://familydoctor.org/online/famdocen/home/children/parents/toilet/179.html There is a website that answers your question, plus some more you may be having and there is a book. "Potty training in a day" or so out there, that even if you don't do it that fast, could give you some tips. Good luck!
Question: ?????????????BABY?????????? ok i think im pregnant but i started my period so how do i know 4 sure i took a test but it was false and really i really think i am so can some one that have a baby tell me if i could still be pregnant and i have my period every month at the same time and for the whole five days SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME
Answer: Yes you can be pregnant. Home tests aren't always accurate especially at the beginning of the pregnancy. You could have something called implantation or breakthrough bleeding that happens when the embryo implants in the uterus. In some women it can seem like a normal, but somewhat light period.
You're best bet would be to call your doctor or local health department and have a blood test done.
Good Luck to you!
Question: What baby oil should i use for newborn baby's head? I am expecting my baby in another 4 weeks and busy wrapping up all the shopping. I am planning to use Olive oil for body massage. Can anyone of you suggest what I should be using for baby's head? Is olive oil safe to use or is there any other oil that is advisable for baby's head. Thanks for your help!
Answer: Johnson & Johnson baby oil for the whole body head to toe is great!! Just make sure whatever you use is for the little ones. Good luck!!!
Question: What baby products can i take in my suitcase when flying abroad? Going to Lanzerote in may, flying from Birmingham airport(uk).Wanted to take powdered baby milk and baby jars of food in my suitcase, will this be ok? Also what are the rules about taking a bottle of baby milk in your handbag for your baby to have on the plane?
Answer: You are allowed to take those things in your suitcase, but make sure to pack the jars well so that they don't break. Suitcases get thrown around a lot. Also, don't put anything valuable in your suitcase because theft is more common that you'd think.
Regarding the rules for a bottle for baby, I'm not sure. I know that, in general, liquids can't be in a larger container than 100 mL but they might make an exception for baby bottles. If the bottle is 100 mL or smaller you are definitely o.k. For a larger bottle, I'd call up the airline if I were you.
Question: How many baby showers is it appropriate to have for the same baby? My sister-in-law is having her first baby. My mother-in-law threw her a baby shower 2 days ago and invited the entire family. It was a large shower. Today in the mail I received an invitation for another baby shower for her that is being thrown by a close friend who was in attendance at the first shower. I already bought a gift for the first shower. Do I have to get her another gift or even attend the 2nd shower?
Answer: No, you do not.
If people have more than one shower for the same baby it's generally because two totally different groups host one(i.e. one for family and another for coworkers). They shouldn't be inviting the same people over and over!
Question: Can my baby corn snake eat a baby lizard from outside? I just found a baby lizard in my kitchen and i caught it. I was wondering if it would be okay to feed it to my baby corn snake (13 inches long)? I know in the wild baby corns do eat small lizards, etc. My only concern is if any parasites can be transmitted?
Answer: My daughter volunteers at a local reptile rescue center and one of the first things she learned was it's never a good idea to feed a pet reptile any live prey from outside. You don't know what they have been exposed to...chemicals, parasites, etc...
Question: How can I conceive a baby that is born with a head full of hair? I'm actually just curious, I've always loved babies (especially baby girls) who are born with a head full of brown hair better than bald babies. I'm wondering if it's possible to conceive a baby that is born with a head full of hair? I'm wondering how does it work and is there any way knowing if your baby will be born with a head full of hair vs a bald baby?
Answer: there isnt anything you can do to make your baby have hair when he or she is born its a heriditary thing that isnt controllable but they say when your pregnant if you have alot of heartburn your baby will have a head full of hair but thats an old wifes tell the only way to know before your baby is born i guess is to do a 3d 4d ultra sound even then im not sure if you can see the hair..
Question: What baby related expenses are tax decuctable? My wife and I had a baby last year and I am wondering what I can write off. Can I write off all the hospital bills? How about baby food, diapers, crib, stuff for the baby? Anything else? Thanks!
Answer: Medical expenses out of pocket, all the other stuff is not deductible
Medical Expenses are Itemized Deductions, they must exceed 7.5% of your Adjusted Gross Income.
Your total Itemized deductions must exceed the Standard Deduction amount of $10,300.00 to be beneficial to itemize
Question: How grandmother may help a baby if his mom is treating baby not good? There was a lot of thing what this mom shouldn't do with that baby.
Grandma tried a lot of ways to change it. She was kindly talking to that mom, she was keeping eye and tried to prevent a lot of things. For example 2 weeks baby shouldn't sleep on the stomach or baby shouldn't be tightly enveloped in a flannel diaper too long and so go on.
How to do this all:
to avoid conflicts and do not hurt feelings of young mom and to help baby?
Answer: I think you need to understand the difference between offering tips and advice and demanding they be accepted and implemented.
As with any new thing we do in life those that have experience offer advice. However these bits of information come from many people (all with good intentions) and it is up to the person doing the learning to decide what is important to them.
Keep up the good work Grandma but let the new parents decide.
Question: What have you baby proofed around your house that never would have thought to baby proof? Now that I have a 16 month old owning my home I have been astonished by everything that has had to be baby proofed! I am going shopping tomorrow for stove knob covers (never would have thought in 1,000 years to baby proof the knobs on my stove). What have you all found to be over board, but necessary to baby proof as well?
Answer: I can't keep anything on the ground. I mean, seriously, I feel like I have a puppy... Anything left on the ground, she will get to and destroy.
For instance, she's colored the walls with lipstick, colored the leather sofas with white deodorant, put a number of things in the toilet, and she just tries to eat anything and everything... She also recently broke our TV remote, which was her favorite "toy"... haha
So, mostly I've just had to pile everything on the table and TV, etc. She's not even walking yet (10 months), so it'll be exciting once that happens.
Question: How presently a baby born to US visiting scholars is being dealt? Whether baby will get US citizenship or not? Both parents are not US citizen. They just come to USA legally for short study for some time (6-months to one year) and a baby is born to them. Whether that baby would be able to get US citizenship automatically or not? What procedure they should adopt to get citizenship for their baby?
Answer: A baby born in the U.S. is an automatic citizen...however, the parents are not, and it's sometimes hard to establish dual-citizenship for the child, so they may end up renouncing it.
Question: When did you start your baby on meat babyfood? My baby started solids early, cereal at three months and baby food at four months. Now she is five months. I feed her cereal twice a day (morning and evening) and 1 jar stage II baby food for lunch. I was wondering when I could replace that evening cereal feed with a meat and veggie supper-like meal.
*Please no comments like your not supposed to start baby on solids until 6 months so on and so on...I am already aware of all the information about starting your baby on solids.
Answer: As soon as my little one was eating the 2 stage foods...I gave her the Gerber beef and what not. I don't think there is anything wrong with giving it to her now.
Gerber makes it in 2nd stage foods for a reason...if it wasn't good for them...why would they make it for that stage? I trust Gerber for the most part.
Question: What are the steps for baby registery, where can we register, and when do we start? So first baby, and of course baby shower. I tried going to The Children's Place and asking they do baby registry but they don't. Also to do the whole registry thing do we have to pay for anything? We know nothing about baby showers, and baby registry. So a step by step advice would be great. Like when we should do it and how we should do it.thanks!
Answer: Oooh I love this stuff! I just threw my little sis a baby shower for her first baby and have walkes her through the whole process. So, you should start your registry sometime after the 5and a half month pregnancy mark. the three best places to go( and i recommend registering at all three, I'll tell ya why below) first and most important go to Babys R Us because they have the most expansive selection, pretty much anything you can think of go to the front desk and they will walk you through the process of how to do it, give you some free samples, shower invites, and little cards that you put in the invites to tell guests where you are registered. Register for all the things you could need here except for clothes(styles are always changing and they may not be in stock by the time your guests shop, also you could notate in the registry that "clothes and gift cards are welcome") and also i would not register for any items like big furniture cuz it is way pricier than the other two places that i'll mention. second is target, they usually have a nice baby selection with some cute stylish items at good prices, here register for everything you don't mind extra of and the things you might not have cared for or couldn't find at Babys R Us. scan(they will give you handheld scanners at all these places to scan and register your items) a cute bedding set with all the coordinates, diapers in numerous sizes(not too many newborn cuz you'll end up with too many too small diapers that your baby won't be in long)lots of size1,2,3's,and wipes(at all 3 places add diapers and wipes cuz you cannot have too many). bottles, onsies, socks, packaged basic clothes like tshirts, ect. It doesnt matter if you have some duplicate items at all three places because since you're registered its very easy to return and trade for things you may not have received at your shower. Here or the next place is where you want to check out the furniture selection(carseat/carrier,highchair,bassinette,changing table, swing, bouncy seat, crib, dresser, the big carseat for after your baby outgrows the carrier(unless you pick one newborn to like 50lbs),stroller(the 3 in one with the stroller, carseat, and carseat base that all attaches together is a nice bargain),crib mattress, bathtub, ect)anything you think you might need and want to register for do so at one of the last two places.pick your theme or the styles you like.I personally put all my big stuff at one place after i found the theme i liked. So thelast place to register is Walmart. they have a great selection, wonderful prices for your guests and you are bound to get lots of items that you need and like off that registry. Here just go for it and put everything you could think of needing on there. Okay so to recap: Babys R us first, everything you might need, especially things that are not so common, no big furniture, no clothes. than go to target and pick everything you couldn't find or did'nt care for at BabysRUs.double some things that you need lots of or don't mind extras of,especially if you love a theme there.def, do diapers and wipes at all 3 places & things like baby detergent, baby laundry stain spray, lotion, ect. if you like furniture or big baby items there go for it.third go to walmart, go for broke, duplicate things off the other registries and pick any special items you like. Remember that these are essentially wish lists and only suggestions for people and it lets them know what you like and need. Have fun with it and pretend that if money were no object all the things you would pick and want for your baby. who cares how much you have on your registries because as i said they are merely ideas and it gives people lots to choose from. print copies of each registry as you go and open them because you can refer to them after your shower for items you may have liked but didn't receive and you can use your gift cards if you get some to go get the items yourself.so when you are all done take the little card from BabysRUs that says you are registered there and before you give them to the hosts or whomever does your invites write "also registered at Target and Walmart" on each little card. remember at each place you can add notes at the bottom so when people print them out they'll see things like"it's a girl/boy" ,"gift cards and clothes welcome", "theme of winnie the pooh(ect.)', "nursery colors in ____ & _____" .Right after the shower inventory all your gifts and take back the items you don't want or wish to trade or got too many of(my sis got three baby tubs even though she only registered for one at one place!it's bound to happen!)andspend any gift cards on things you still need. So i hope i helped. you asked for step by step and i tried to be detailed for you(: Good luck to you and your sweet baby to be.
Question: How do you teach the baby to walk in Baby Pals without her falling down? In the Nintendo DS game Baby Pals, you teach the baby to do various activities, such as recognize colors and sounds, and teach the baby how to crawl and walk. You have to move a ball to distract the baby to teach her to walk, but I don't even get a chance to try to move the ball before she falls down and cries. Can anyone help me?
Answer: .
Question: How much cereal or baby food should my six month old baby be eating? I just recently got my baby to start eating cereal. She used to keep spitting it out. She still will not eat baby food. I'm worried that she is too dependant on formula. How do I correct this and how do I ensure she is getting enough food and nutrition? How much baby food and cereal should she be eating at six months of age? Any advice is appreciated.
Answer: Damian was the same way but I understand why he didn't want cereal. Have you ever tasted that stuff? It taste like paste. I decide to make it a bit more appealing to him. I started to put smash veggies and fruits in the cereal. It work like a charm. I steam the veggies/fruit and puree, with some of the water that they were cook in. I then stir it into the cereal to a good consistency. There is no right or wrong as to how much she should be eating. Just let her eat as much as she wants, but I say make her at least 5 ounces and see how much she eats. Don't force her to eat all that you have made for her she will let you know when she is done.
Question: How much baby formula should you be feeding your newborn infant in the first several weeks? When we left the hospital we were told to feed baby 50cc per feeding. 1 week later we are at 80cc of baby formula per feeding. Is that too much? Is there rules on how much you should feed baby per feeding?
Answer: Every infant is different and has different needs! Guidelines are truly just that...guidelines to begin with, but your child may need more or less. You will also face this question when you begin solid feeding, too. I still ask my pediatrician questions about diet, and he always tells me that there is no normal (some kids eat tons while others sparsley eat, and they can be on the same growth curve). The pediatrician told me that an infant will let you know when he/she is finished or if he/she needs more (I'm still a believer that my daughter would eat herself to death if allowed). Believe it or not, babies are not like fish...you cannot over-feed them!!! :) This is something I received at work (a hospital) when I had my child 9 1/2 months ago:
Average intake by age:
0-2 months 2-5 oz per feeding for a total daily average of 26 oz.
2-4 months 4-6 oz per feeding for a total daily average of 30 oz.
4-6 months 5-7 oz per feeding for a total daily average of 31 oz.
Average intake by weight in a 24 hour period:
8 lb 22 oz
9 lb 24 oz
10 lb 27 oz
11 lb 29 oz
12 lb 32 oz
14 lb 37 oz
16 lb 43 oz
Good luck to you! :)
