Question: why vitamen D called as calciferol?
Answer: Vitamin D helps the body in the absorption of Calcium, which is essential for bone formation. I guess hence its name.
Question: which ar polar?1.SO2 2.CH3(CH2)16CO2H 3.(CH3CH2)2O 4.Calciferol (vitamin D2) 5.C6H6 6.NH4)(CH3CO2? Can anyone help me tell which of these are polar.. ive tried to draw them out, but i cant quite tell which will dissolve in a polar compound (ie H2O) or a nonpolar compound.. carbon tetrachloride..
Answer: 1) Polar
2) Polar (because of the O)
3) Polar
4) Nonpolar (don't know why - I just know that vitaminD is fat-soluble which means that it's nonpolar)
5) Nonpolar
6) Polar
General rule of thumb = N, O, and F bonds are generally polar. CXHX compounds are always nonpolar. CXHXOX are always nonpolar. Vitamins ADEK are fat soluble, thus non-polar. All other vitamins are polar. Like dissolves like.
Question: I've got mice in my flat. Which poison is best to kill them that doesn't make the dead mouse stink? I've heard that there is a poison that contains Calciferol, which doesn't make the dead mice stink.

Question: HomeWork Help Please? Which vitamin has been shown to have an important role in wound healing and maintaining healthy gums?
A. Folic acid
B. Calciferol
Thank You
C. Biotin
D. Ascorbic acid
Answer: *Vitamin C keeps cells healthy, especially connective tissue, the structural tissue in the body that keeps it all together.* http://www.cyh.com
I'm going to do you the honour of assuming that you can at least recognise the 'other name' for Vit. C from your list!!
Btw, Ascorbic acid was used as a prohylactic against scurvy, not citric acid.

Answer: For 10 I am not sure either I would go with 12 or 24 though. Probably 12 because I think that it's 24-48 when calculus begins.
I think the answer for 12 might be wrong Digestion is the chemical process of breaking down food, chewing or mastication is the physical breakdown. The word stomach being there confuses me, it's a poorly worded question.
13 is A. basal metabolic rate
Everything else looks right.
Question: What mouse poison should I buy (UK, London)? I want to buy some mouse poison to lay down in my under the stairs cupboard. I suspect we have some pesky mice hiding in the floor under the house. I haven't seen any or any signs but can smell a 'musky' mouse smell.
My question is, what mouse poison do people recommend? I ideally want the quickest working brand and ideally one with Calciferol in as I read this makes the dead mouse 'mummify' and not smell if they are under the floor which I strongly suspect.
I am in London so need a brand I can buy in the UK, ideally ASAP!!!
Thanks.
I should add, we live in a terraced house and we had them in the kitchen a month or so ago (the only place there was signs of them) and we used mouse traps and caught 3 in total. We covered all the air bricks with mesh and all signs of activity went away for a good few weeks. It is now that the smell in the cupboard under the stairs has appeared. The kitchen is completely clear of any signs but we have blocked up every hole we could find. I haven't seen any droppings or mice but I suspect they are under the floor trapped. I have no idea what they are eating. Sorry to those who don't like killing them but it's not an option. They are pests and I want rid of them in the most humane way possible and hence a quick dose of poison.
Thanks.
Answer: We had a mice infestation just weeks ago now, we called the local council ( who come out for free and put baid down for you) and they told us to go get some traps as well and put them down with a hint of cheese on or pizza crusts we found also effective but after the poison so they come accross that first, that way they take a nibble of poison and carry onto a trap and then you have them body and all so no need to worry about dead rodents in the house.
We did it for a week and then were given the all clear no more mice! the council came back out removed all the poison inspected all its runs and found no evidence of any more activity. The first place to look for mice is behind the fridge fereezer in the motor, its perfect tempriture nice and warm in the motor, its always on! you can find their walk ways by searching for droppings, ours appeared to be coming from the cellar but were infact coming from a slight hole in the brick from the exterior of the house
Question: what is Phyto-Calciferol and Phyto squalene? These 2 related to facial Product. any 1 can tell me more about it in details?
ur answer doesnt help me
Answer: Phyto would mean plant derived. So in this case both the calciferol [phyto-calciferol] and squalene [phyto-squalene] would be plant derived. This has obviously been stressed for vegans and vegetarians, and others who would not want shark products for instance, because ordinarily major natural sources of both vitamin D and squalene commercially would be from fish. And in the latter case [squalene] ....shark liver oil.
Calciferol is vitamin D. Squalene is an organic compound linked to cholesterol and cholesterol-like moecules [steroid hormones, vitamin D etc] synthesis.
More info on squalene: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Squalene
Check the other ingredients. Many commercial skin "care" products contain parabens. You might want to avoid these. Some of the more natural products however might not have these. Yours sounds to be one of the more natural products. If you need any more help please feel free to email me.....hope I can help with your queries.
Best wishes.
