Low Calorie Recipes
Question: anyone have any low calorie healthy recipes? I'm looking for low calorie recipes for meals...links to recipes from websites would be great too. lots of details are important as i am a novice cook...and trying to learn how to cook healthy foods for myself and my boyfriend...recipes should be at least enough to feed two. i'm trying to loose a little weight so i need the recipes to be low calorie...and i dont eat fish other than swordfish, or pork. thanks!...dinner meals please!
Answer: My favourites are stir frys - so easy and so tasty.
For a basic stir fry for 2 you'll need:
- 400 grams of chicken/beef/lamb strips or tofu if you like
- Some noodles (two-minute noodles are fine, or you could go for udon or rice noodles - check the asian section of the supermarket)
- Then any kind of veggies you like cut into thin strips - capsicum, carrot, sweet peas, baby corn, mushrooms - whatever takes your fancy!
- Garlic
- Soya sauce or a pre-made stir-fry sauce from the supermarket (just check the lable for ingredients to get the healthiest)
Cook the meat first, then add veggies, when they're cooked add your sauce and your pre-cooked noodles... very easy, very healthy and hardly any mess.
Good luck!!!!

Question: Where can I find low calorie meal recipes for one? I'm getting bored of my usual evening meal of plain meat plus vegetables. I'd like to find some interesting new low-calorie recipes to try...but it would be helpful if the recipe gave instructions and ingredients for only a single or couple of portions (since I live on my own and don't need a fridge full of spare portions). Can anyone help?

Question: low fat, Low calorie recipes...Good for loosing weight fast after a having a baby? I am 7 months pregnant and I just want to have a good diet plan to loose my baby pounds fast. Any good recipes? That really work? Thanks!
Answer: This could be lunch, breakfast and or dessert. Get your favorite fruits clean'em, cut'em, then combine u can add honey, fat free cottage cheese or low fat yogurt, nuts, raisins a little bit of freshly squeezed orange or lemon juice adds a good flavor and wont allow the fruits to brown, this could be made in a large quantity and last 3 to 4 days expt add dairy part only if u r going to to eat it right away. And with dinner, portions are really key try to use smaller plates my trainer told me that the sauces that we put on food is what does damage, so simple salt&pepper and maybe a fresh salsa over your meat/poultry for flavor and try to use PAM that cooking spray or steam your food oh & lots of water
-best wishes

Question: Can anyone suggest some low-calorie recipes or alternatives to corn tamales? Thanks!
Answer: Are you kidding? I'd give just about anything to figure out how to do that.
I don't think it's possible. I love tamales: red, green, bean and those apple raisin dessert ones. The sad truth is fat is what fluffs up and binds the masa whether it's oil, butter, lard, shortening or bacon drippings.
Geeze, do I ever love tamales. I think the best I can do for you is to invite you over for a good cry. I've had to settle for making them twice a year...Christmas and Easter.
