Vitamin B 12 Injections
Question: Does anyone know where I could go to get vitamin b-12 injections in Knoxville, TN? I don't have a family physician and I don't have insurance. I heard from my cuz in TX you could just pay like 10 dollars at a "fat doctor" somewhere in town. Is this true?
Answer: Well, you could try going to DelightMedical.com and seeing if he can help you. From the reviews I've read he seems to be a top of the line Dr.

Question: Does vitamin b 12 injections need to be im ? ? I tried giving myself im but the injection went just under the skin. Top thigh muscle is to tough. Thanks
Answer: Unfortunately it has to be inter muscular. Be sure you have the proper length of needle to ensure it makes it that deep.
Question: lidocaine and vitamin B-12 injections? I would like to know if these are injected into people. Clemens claims that they were. I would not like to know if you believe him or not. I am just curious to know if that story is even plausible, and how often do people actually receive these injections?
Answer: Yes these are injected into people. I had multiple lidocaine injections in college to ease the pain of a torn rotator cuff. I believe it is an anti-inflamatory drug and eases the pain of muscle strains and tears. B12 is also injected, but I don't know why exactly.
The whole point is that none of these are considered steroids and would not register as steroids. You get these shots at a physical therapists office, athletic trainers, or orthopedic offices. You don't get them at places that distribute steroids.
I think he is full of it...just admit the truth, its not like they are going to punish anyone for it. Barry Bonds is in trouble not because he used steroids but the fact that he lied before a congressional hearing. They all need to fess up and move on.
Question: How long does a vitamin b-12 injection take to absorb and start to work?
Answer: It takes several days to start working.

Phone your doctor immediately if you experience:
A rash, faintness, a swollen face or throat, difficulty breathing.
Phone your doctor or pharmacist when convenient if you experience:
Diarrhoea*, itching, fever, nausea, dizziness. If you develop mild asthma (wheeze and cough) or sneezing tell your doctor since this may mean the next injection will cause a more serious allergic reaction.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist at your next visit if you experience:
Other minor symptoms.
Question: Any one taken Vitamin B-12 Injections.? What are the effects? What alternitives would you suggest?
The reson for the question was for weight loss purposes.
Answer: I get a B-12 injection monthly for pernicious anemia. I can't recall any side effects, not even a sore shoulder. For that matter, it doesn't make me feel noticeably different at all (it doesn't seem to be one of those 'Zowie!' drugs) but the Dr. says that it's keeping me from other problems. It looks weird though, as though the Dr. is shooting raspberry syrup into your arm. As for alternatives, it would depend on how much B-12 you need, I imagine.
Question: Is Liquid B12 or B12 Patch just as good as the Vitamin B 12 injection? Are the benefits the same?
Answer: Some people have a hard time digesting it so it is more effective to inject it. I never heard of a patch. I am surprised it penetrates. Perhaps they use DMSO as a solvent.
Question: How do you give an IM Injection of Vitamin B-12? I have just been given a diagnosis of Pernicious Anemia. My doctor has prescribed me Vitamin B-12 shots. These have to go intra-muscular. Since I have given myself Insulin injections for years, he has me doing these at home. The problem is, that he prescribed 1/2 inch needles. I have no real fear of needles, but I have always given myself Sub-Q injections, not IM. So, my questions are as follows:
Is this long enough?
Is there any chance that I will end up hitting my arm bone?
What is the proper size needle to inject this Vitamin B-12?
Thank you for your help on this.
Answer: If you have been doing SC injections with insulin, this IM injection will be basically the same. Just stick the needle into the muscle, either in your shoulder or your butt, draw back to make sure you are not in a vein and push the plunger down. If you get blood in the barrel, then you are in a vein, but if you are giving yourself IM injections in your butt or shoulder you are probably not going to hit a vein.
And yes, a 1/2 inch needle is plenty long enough to do a IM injection and is not long enough to hit bone in your shoulder or butt. Good lcuk.

Bahaaeldeen,
I appreciate all the information you gave me, and it was all accurate, but it did not answer my questions.
Answer: I have this very same thing, and get injections every week. I haven't been able to give them to myself, even though I have given shots to others. I usually have my husband or son, or neighbor or a friend to shoot me. They only need to be told how and where.
I know you can give yourself the shot, it won't hit your bone. I have pretty long needles too. Its difficult to get to the back of you arm,but that is the best place for it.. See if you can talk someone into giving you the injections. If not, you can pay a fee and have the nurse at the Dr's do it. You can also give them to yourself in the thigh, the muscle is bigger there, and more tough..but it can be done. I used to inject Imitrex there.
Good luck, and I hope you feel better soon. I have just known about this for a little over a month, and have good and bad days...I take daily shots and a nasal spray..sublingulal won't work, because your stomach cannot ingest the b12,it has to be given by injection or nasal spray. The nasal only comes in 500 mg, you are probably on 1000...I have to do the shot, then half way through the week, do the nasal spray twice. I admit to being very afraid of what this is doing to me. I have pain, week legs and I forget so much.
I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Question: Vitamin B-12 shots? Does anyone know what dosages B-12 injections come in? My stomach is caffeine intolerant. I find that taking b-12 tablets is giving me more endurance by taking about 8000 m.g throughout the day. But tablets only come in 100-50000 m.grams at the most. Never tried B-12 shots before.
Answer: The usual dose of B12 injections in someone who is vitamin B12 deficient, is to give 100 micrograms in the muscle once daily for a week, then once weekly for a month and then once a month.
The "chemical" name for vitamin B12 is "cyanocobalamin", and it is available commercially by prescription only in multi-dose vials, usually 100 micrograms per milliliter of fluid.
The reason vitamin B 12 tablets come in the higher doses is that the amount absorbed from the stomach is much less ...and with the injections, all of the vitamin is absorbed and used.
If you take in excess vitamin B 12 - or any of the "B" vitamins, the unneeded vitamin is excreted by the kidneys, so unlike the fat soluble vitamins (vitamins A,D, E and K) the "B" vitamins are not stored.

Question: Vitamin B Injections for weight training.? I am using Sustanol to gain more mass for weight training, and I have only taken it 3 months out of last year and will only do the same again this year then sack it. As i am athletic built i want to put on a little more mass. I am looking at Injecting Compound Vit B which includes 12, 1, 2, and B6. Can anyone give me any advice as to if this is safe and dosage etc... As i can find absolutely nothing on the net with regards to this and weight training. Thankyou
Answer: Anybody advising you to do this is a complete idiot and if you do it, so will you be.
There are no safe short cuts. Proper training and diet are the only answers. Aim to increase your calorific intake by about 500cals per day with a good balance of about 65% carbs, and 15-20% each of protein and fats. Weight training, obviously - get someone to do you a programme. If you've been training a while and getting stuck at a weight, go for some shock tactics, like dropsets, 1RM training or volume training, for example.
For the love of God, do not resort to sticking yourself with needles full of anything. That goes for the sustanol, too.
Question: I have extremely low vitamin B 12 . is there a good person out there who car help me? my diet seems to be normal. i don,t eat a lot of meat, just three or four delicious lamb chops done just right, with three vegs, other nights chicken or fish or a big lamb roast on the weekend. now i am getting injections every day going down to a few per week
Answer: If your Vitamin B12 deficiency is confirmed, has your doctor ascertained, what is the cause of your Vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B 12 deficiency can be caused by the following causes:
•Nutritional deficiency – usually only in vegetarians, even they manage to get enough. Anyone who eat meat – get more than their daily dose of VitB12. (Looks like this is not your cause, you seem to be eating right)
•Malabsorption deficiency – Inability to absorb Vit B12
•Other causes -- diabetes treatment drugs, reflux treatment drugs(prilosec) may reduce the absorption of VitB12
Injections every 3 months is the treatment for it, unless, the root cause is known and treatable.
Question: My Arm Hurts After Vitamin B-12 Shot? My B12 count is very low so I must now get injections. After the shot (into my arm), my arm hurts for the rest of the day. How can I reduce this pain?
The pain is in the muscle, a tender-type pain.
Answer: One thing you can do is to try and massage the area around where the injection is given. Also, by doing this it can help spread the medicine throughout the body, but I would recommend checking with your doctor first before doing it.
