Best Water
Question: What is the best water purification for camping and or surviving the case of no power? I am looking for a water purification container for camping and or surviving in the outdoors. Also what is the best way to preserve your water when storing it in barrels or bottles for a long period of time?
Answer: Katydin, hands down. Swiss made, my pocket filter costs $250.00, but with the dollar where it is now, who knows?
Question: What is the best water cooling kit on the market? A friend of mine has a Asus Striker 2 Extreme motherboard, also the processor is a socket 775. He is looking for the best water cooling kit on the market, well the best "bang for the buck", something that will work for what he needs, but not cost an arm and a leg.
Answer: Here you can see a nice review for your case: http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews.php?type=3&id=69&page=1&desc=battle_of_the_water_cooling_kits
Question: What is the best water filter for a 40 gal turtle tank? I'm starting to plan a new home for my 4 inch long red-eared slider. Right now it's in a 5.5 gal tank. I'm planning on getting him (or her) a 40 gallon breeder tank. What is the best filter for this tank? I was looking at the Fluval 205. Is this going to filter the water well? (110 gph, up to 40 gallons) Are there any other filters that anybody else uses? I'm trying to spend as little as possible obviously but will not pass up a good filter either. It also loves to dig, what is a good substrate to use so that he can't dig into it? Right now I have small pebbles on the bottom of the tank with a big plastic log for basking.
Answer: Turtles! I love em'. I have 2 red - eared sliders. Tyrone is about 4 years old and his shell measures about 5 1/2" in diameter.
Jared is much smaller, about 3" in diameter. Recently had one die. Leroi was his name... he was very big. 8" in diameter.
They live in a 75 gallon tank. The bottom of the tank is covered with small river stones and plants. They love having places to hide. They also have a floating platform to bask under the light and keep warm.
So to answer your question... "Fluval" specializes in filters for turtles. They come in several different sizes to accomaodate the size tank you have. For a 40 gallon tank, you would need at least the #204. I have the largest model the pet store sold #404. It filters 100 gallons of water.
The only part of the filtration system that is in the water is the intake and discharge tube. So there is minimal space taken up in the tank, leaving more space for the turtles.
The motor is contained in a container that sits on the floor beneath the tank. It is very quiet. Cleaning it is very easy. There is no need to clean it often. I only clean my filter and tank about every 4 months. Even then the water remains clear, of course you will still have some sediment on the bottom of the tank.
I highly suggest you check in to the "Fluval" Filters. they are worth the extra money, if you don't want to have to change the filter every couple of weeks. If you purchase this brand, I'm sure you and your turtle will be pleased.
Good luck;
Kevin
Question: What would the best water purification bottle be for travelling to Kenia? I will be travalling to Niarobi, Kenia for 2 weeks in march. What would the best water purification bottle be for such a trip?
Im travalling with a enviromental group... thus i should not be palouting with all the botled watter.... any other salution??
Answer: Kenya.
And water purification bottles are a joke, they can't filter chemical or many biological pollutants. They mostly just nab the minerals.
You either need to iodine your water, which you can do for a period as short as two weeks. Or buy imported bottled water the whole time you are there.
Some water sources in Kenya may be safe, but you can never be sure.
I drank bottled or iodine water the whole time I was in Africa.
Question: What is the best water pressure tank and can you go too big? I will be replacing the pressure water tank and want to know what the best brand(s) are. I also want to go big. I have plenty of room. Is there a reason not to go with a 200 gallon tank?
Answer: sta-rite, aero-flow,goulds,jacuzzi all sell a good brand air bag or captive air tank but there are many other good brands.....a 200 gallon tank would cut down on the amount of times a pump would cycle on and off but would also allow it to run longer to refill the tank once it got pumped down...in a 200 gallon air bag tank you would get somewhere around 30 to 50 gallons of water before the pump actually had to replace the water...now the next thing to consider is how much water is in your well...In a six inch well you get one gallon of water per foot of water in the well so if you only had 40 ft of water in your well you would not want a 200 gallon tank unless your well made a lot of water(this is the rate that the water returns to refill the well as it is pumped out)..I would go with a 75 gallon tank this would give you about 10 gallons of water before the pump came on and there would be less chances of pumping your well dry if it doesnt make a lot of water..
Question: What is the best water filter pitcher for the lowest possible price? So i'm a college student with a small budget but i hate the tap water where i live. i wanna buy a water filter like the pitcher ones but i wanna know what's best. I just bought one of the cheap Pur brand ones thats like 15$. I haven't tried it yet but is this a good one or really just a rip off? Again what is the best if not this one?
Answer: Pur and Brita pitchers are great - both have expensive filter replacements but you can stretch them out for 6 months, especially for just you.

Question: What is the best water pokemon in pokemon diamond? In your opinion, what is the best water pokemon in pokemon diamond? And I don't mean the best-looking one or coolest one. I mean stat-wise/move-wise. I'm trying to decide which one I want to use in my set.
Answer: It depends on what kind of Pokemon do you want (physical? special? offensive? defensive? etc.)
For example, a physically offensive Pokemon can be:
Gyarados @ Life Orb
Adamant Nature | Intimidate
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
Dragon Dance boosts its mediocre speed to very high, allow it to outspeed many fast Pokemon and kill them effectively. It also boosts Attack, so after 1 use, and with the boost of Life Orb, Gyarados' Attack reaches to a stunning 747. Earthquake and Stone Edge are all extremely strong moves, covering a wide variety of types including Flying, Electric, Ice, Steel, etc. and Waterfall's power is 120 with STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus). Although Aqua Tail is slightly stronger, it isn't as accurate as Waterfall, and can't flinch opponents like sometimes Waterfall can, so Waterfall is recommended.
A special Attacker can be something like, for example: Starmie...
Starmie @ Life Orb
Timid Nature | Nature Cure
- Surf
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Psychic / Grass Knot
This Pokemon's max speed is 361, faster than a great majority of all Pokemon, and its Special Attack is very decent too. The movepool is fantastic, covering a huge variety of type combinations such as Rock, Flying, Water, Dragon, Ground, Fighting (if Psychic is chosen), etc. It's a Pokemon that can deal massive damage without any set-up and will rarely let you down.
Physically defensive:
Slowbro @ Leftovers
Bold Nature | Own Tempo
- Surf
- Ice Beam / Psychic / Hidden Power [Electric]
- Slack Off
- Thunder Wave / Calm Mind
If you choose to use Calm Mind, you can also increase its Special Defense and it's Special Attack a bit, making it more durable. Slack Off makes a great healing move, allowing this bro to live a long life. Slowbro has amazing HP and Defense, making it even able to survive Gyarados' ferocious attacks and hit it back with a Thunder Wave, completely crippling it, and then heal up or just rack damage. HP [Elec.] can also kill Gyarados' in 1 hit. It's hard to really explain its potential but you can try and see for yourself.
As for Special Defense, there aren't any Water types that really stand out because Thunderbolt and Discharge are relatively common, plus the newly added Grass Knot to the 4th generation, and Water isn't the best to take Special Defenses, but there's one member that worths a mention. It's the ever common...
Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
Calm Nature | Liquid Ooze
- Surf
- Toxic Spikes
- Sludge Bomb / Hidden Power [Electric]
- Rapid Spin / Ice Beam
Base Speed = 100. Base Sp. Def = 120. Those are some nice stuff right there. Being neutral to Grass type moves and Liquid Ooze will likely to prevent your opponent from Leech Seeding you or Giga Draining you, Tentacruel can really stand out. It can also lay down Toxic Spikes (being one of the only few Pokemon to be able to do so), which, after 2 layers, will poison any ground-contacting Pokemon except for Poison or Steel types. Surf and Sludge Bomb are great STABs, and Rapid Spin can help you get rid of any field entry hazards such as Stealth Rock or Spikes. Ice Beam is useful too, if you want to have a little stall-war against something like Latias or Specs-Salamence.
Finally, of course you have those generally defensive Pokemon that are just a pain to take down...
Suicune @ Leftovers
Bold | Pressure
- Surf
- Hidden Power [Electric] / Ice Beam
- Calm Mind
- Rest
Just look at its massive HP and BOTH defensives. Now when you train it, max out its HP and Defense, and Calm Mind will take care of its Special Defense & Special Attack. Rest will help you heal, preventing Toxic poison from ruining your day, and that thing will be a pain to take down. Just be careful of things like Lanturn or Blissey, who can scare Suicune a bit. Oh, forgot to mention, Pressure drains your opponent's move-PP's during a stall-war.

Question: What is the best water filtration option for me? Currently I drink a lot of bottled water. I want to quit because I'm wasting money as well as contributing to an environmental problem. I'm looking into getting some kind of water filter but I don't know what the best option is. Is a faucet filter better, or the container you keep in the fridge? Are there any other types that I don't know about?
Answer: Congrats on cutting down on bottled water. It is HORRIBLE for the envoronment.
I agree that an under sink reverse osmosis filter will get you the best VALUE for your dollar. They are big, but it is under the sink so you dont notice it. They cost 150-400 plus you will need to change filters ona regular basis. But if you can't afford an under sink RO, there are countertop RO filters for about $75.
The "brita type filters are not as good as RO, but they are good enough for most people. Of the jug type, PUR is considered the best, but brita is the most cost effective. The ones that screw on your fawcet are basicly the same as the jug type but not as effective (they have higher flow rates so not as good filtering) and more expensive because their cartridges are smaller. I do NOT recommend these because the filter itself will be subject to unsanitary splashes from the sink and it's contents.
There are also countertop distillers. They will give the purest water, but they are very slow, take up alot of space, and they use a TON of electricity.
Question: What is the best Water Filter used for drinking? What do you guys think about Crystal Quest products? Is it one of the better ones or not?
Or what about the Water Filters at walmart- which one is better to go for?
(Just trying to decide which Water Filter is the best to use, for when I finally do buy one.)
(I wont to get a Water Filter to get rid of all the bad things that we end up drinking from our tap water.(miniscule amounts of drugs, chlorine, lots of iron, Fluoride, nitrate, rust, ETC!)
Answer: i have the PUR water filter that hooks right onto my kitchen faucet. i love it. i used to have a brita (the kind you fill up). i got sick of having to wash the pitcher, and i think the PUR tastes batter and lasts a lot longer too.

Question: Is rainwater the best water to water plants? Is rainwater the best water to water plants? Is it better than spring water or tap water? What is it made of? Does it contain and chemicals or is it 100% natural?
Answer: Yes, ello, chemicals do just fall from the sky, normally dissolved in rainwater!
Rain is natures air filter. Everything from natural dust, pollen, and smoke to the exhaust from our planes, trains and automobiles (and power plants, heavy industry, farm chemicals, and every fume, smoke, dust or ash that we create).
Rain can be clean enough for unfiltered human consumption, or it can have a low enough Ph (acid) to rapidly erode concrete, and natural rock. Around heavily populated areas, it can contain enough pollutants to be harmful to plants.
But so can spring or tap water. So the answer is, it depends on where you live and specifically, the source of your water, and if your tap water is chlorinated (let it stand several days before using on plants, if you can).
Also keep in mind that some dissolved minerals will be helpful to plants.

Question: What is the best water softening/purification system for my home? I just moved into a home and need a water system to soften and/or purify my home. What is the best way to go??
Answer: Don't assume that the water is bad. Have it tested for impurities. Hardness is self-evident, as is the presence of iron. Sears has hardness testing available and retails a good water-softener. To my knowledge there is no piece of equipment that will both soften and purify. Purification takes a separate filtering system.
Start with the water test. It should run around fifty bucks at a testing lab; then you'll know what you have to deal with. If it smells good and doesn't taste bad, don't waste your money. Check with others on the same system as yours and see what their experience is.

Question: What is the best water filtering brand out there? I am looking to buy a water filtering pitcher and I would like to know which brand is the best out there.
Answer: The two biggest brands are Brita & PUR. I've used both but I like the PUR on my faucet better. On pitchers the Brita is king & you can't get any easier.
