Answer: I heard ginko biloba is good; my parents used to make it take it every once in a while. But if it actually works--I'm not sure. I heard fish oil works too. =P
The following from wikipedia:
The extract of the Ginkgo leaves contains flavonoid glycosides and terpenoids (ginkgolides, bilobalides) and has been used pharmaceutically. It has many alleged nootropic properties, and is mainly used as memory enhancer and anti-vertigo agent. However, studies differ about its efficacy. Some controversy has arisen over the conclusions drawn by some studies that were allegedly funded by a firm which marketed Ginkgo. Slate, an Internet-based magazine owned by The Washington Post Company, reported in April 2007:
In 2002, a long-anticipated paper appeared in JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association) titled "Ginkgo for memory enhancement: a randomized controlled trial." This Williams College study, sponsored by the National Institute on Aging rather than Schwabe, examined the effects of ginkgo consumption on healthy volunteers older than 60. The conclusion, now cited in the National Institutes of Health's ginkgo fact sheet, said: "When taken following the manufacturer's instructions, ginkgo provides no measurable benefit in memory or related cognitive function to adults with healthy cognitive function."
Dr. Willmar Schwabe GmbH & Co. is a German pharmaceutical company that markets a Ginkgo product within the United States.
Out of the many conflicting research results, Ginkgo extract seems to have three effects on the human body: it improves blood flow (including microcirculation in small capillaries) to most tissues and organs; it protects against oxidative cell damage from free radicals; and it blocks many of the effects of PAF (platelet aggregation, blood clotting) that have been related to the development of a number of cardiovascular, renal, respiratory and CNS (Central Nervous System) disorders. Ginkgo can be used for intermittent claudication.
A 2004 conference paper[8] summarizes how various trials indicate that Ginkgo shows promise in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease, although further study is needed.
Ginkgo is commonly added to energy drinks, but the amount is typically so low it does not produce a noticeable effect, except perhaps via a placebo effect from Ginkgo being listed on the label.
Ginkgo supplements are usually taken in the range of 40–200 mg per day.

Question: What do I do to boost memory in my 6 year old girl? She remembers TV characters and other irrelevant things but things like spellings and such she forgets routinely. Also I would like tips to increase her attention span while studying. Thanks a lot for your suggestions.
Answer: 1. Limit T.V. to 1 hour or less per day.
2. T.V. should be a reward-- that will help make other things relevant!
3. Make spellings and such relevant. Make games out of it; give T.V. or video game time as a reward.
4. Go to www.spellingcity.com for FREE spelling games and practice.
5. Use pictures, writing in sand or shaving cream on a tray, cut out or magnetic letters, or other visual-kinesthetic strategies.
To increase her attention span, she has to be interested. Make it interesting and/or rewarding!
Good luck.

Question: How do I plug in a wireless router? and how do i boost my video memory? I just had a recent question about my Vostro 1000 laptop and thank you for the answers. I just bought a wireless router recently (Lynsys). The only problem is im not sure how to hook it up. Do I hook it up on my Dell PC which has a motorola modem? Do i hook it up behind it? Please tell me what to do. Also I want to boost my video memory on it because it is only at 64mb I believe. It is normally a 256mb ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 256mb graphic card, but I dont know if it is up all the way.
Please help me
Answer: The Vostro's have a 30 day try-out period if you are not happy you can return it. You can get a Vostro 1400 on dell's site with a 128mb dedicated video card.. 2gb memory for under $700 see the below link. You have an integrated video card and you would have to remove and install a new one which is tricky.

Question: What foods boost memory or increase brain activity?
Answer: dark chocalate, bannanas, and i think foods that have pottasium in it
Question: Can you get a memory boost on your ipod? I have a 16 GB ipod touch and i would like to upgrade its memory. Payment is not a problem. Is there a way i can get a memory upgrade?
Answer: I don't think you can get a memory upgrade unless you purchase an entirely new ipod touch (32 gigs)
Honestly, going to a electronic specialist (if there is one) for a memory boost would be a little bit more expensive than simply buying the larger capacity model.
Question: How can I boost my memory in study? I feel hard to remember what i had read through nowadays.
During exam, when i scanned through the question, i realized that i did read that before, but i just can't write out the details and the correct answers.
I sleep at about 2am everyday, some says is because i sleep late everyday.
Is there any diet recommendation or supplement that can help me increase my memory power ?
Answer: Yeah if you are sleeping less than 7 hours a day, that definitely affects your memory. With no sensory interference during sleep, experts believe that the brain proceeds to organize and revise the day's information, and works on "storing" it into memory. 7 to 9 hours of sleep is critical for healthy memory.
If you are having trouble remembering stuff in exams, try reading that stuff right before you go to bed; that helps retain it better in your memory.
Monounsaturated fats (eg. olive, canola, peanut oils) and polyunsaturated fats rich in Omega-3 fatty acids (fish/fish oil) have memory benefits. And water, instead of soda, along with limited or no caffeine, should be preferred.
As far as Vitamins - B6, B12, Niacin and Folic Acid are all known to protect the brain cells and improve memory. B Vitamins are found in bread, whole-grain cereals, egg, milk, potatoes and bananas among others. Also, antioxidants found in berries, citrus fruits and green, leafy vegetables also excellent memory food. You can take these vitamin supplements as an addition to eating these foods.
Question: can i add more memory to boost my computer's game performance? i want to boost my computer's game performance and i already have a good video card but i only have 1gb of memory for window vista. is adding more memory the best way to do it?
Answer: YES... Vista is a memory hog and 1gb is really the minimum that you should have for it. I would suggest either 2gb or 3gb. You can find some prices here... http://www.crucial.com or http://www.corsair.com .

Question: Does anyone know some good recipes to a juice that would boost memory cells and overall brain functioning?
Answer: I don't know if you're looking for something you can purchase at the store or if you have a juicer, but here is a good recipe that I recently used on a 7 day juice fast/detox. I have a few juice recipe books but also used a few websites for recipes also.
"The Brain Stimulator
1 oranges
1 hard pears
1 yam
1 grapefruit
1 apple
Scientists have determined that we use only 10 percent of the brain. Living on coffee and donuts reduces that percentage to 2 percent. Here is a juice to stimulate all of that unused percentage back into activity. For this juice to be effective, you need a five-day juice fast to clear the coffee, donut and junk food residues out of the bloodstream. Once clear, this wide-spectrum, nutrient-rich juice will stir the brain into super-activity. Better memory, sharper thinking and good study techniques are the tools for great marks. No more morning brain fog. Now you can leap out of bed to study while brushing your teeth and preparing for the day."
