Answer: You're not going to die. You're 13 & you had a shot. You're tipsy. Congrats on your first drinking experience. Now don't do it again until you're 21. Or at least don't do it alone. (since I was being hypocritical)

Question: Whats the difference between calories and calories from far? I noticed that on some nutriton labels they have calories and the calories from fat. What are calories from fat? Which one do I use to count my calories? The calories, or the calories from fat?
Meant calories from FAT
Answer: Calories from far is when you order a pizza and they have to deliver.
Question: How many calories does swimming burn compared to other cardio? The calorie counters on the machines I've used tell me that rowing burns the most calories, then the stair climber, then the treadmill, then the eliptical, and then the stationary bike (if those calorie counters are accurate). How many calories do I burn swimming compared to those other activities? A coach I know told me that swimming doesn't burn very many calories because the cool water prevents the body from heating up the way it does with other activities, is he right?
Answer: Don't count on those machines. Running burns the most. Swimming is great all over body and low impact.
Question: What's the difference between 100 calories of peanut butter and 100 calories of bread? Okay so I'm trying to gain weight in a healthy way, where it doesnt ALL just go to my stomach (by the way, does anyone have any tips on how to do that?) and i have to eat 2500 calories a day according to my doctor, which is nearly impossible for me...but anyways...i was wondering if eating 100 calories of peanut butter would be the same as eating 100 calories of bread or of something else like sorbet or something...so i guess my question is, are there different types of calories? Like would 100 calories of peanut butter make me gain more fat than 100 calories of sorbet? What about the difference between 100 calories of a fatty food and 100 calories of a carb-heavy food? Or is it all the same?
Answer: no it is not all the same.
it is also important what those calories are made up of.
The nutritional value of a 100 calories of peanut butter is different from 100 cal of bread-they both constitute 100 cal of energy, but peanut butter is made up of oils-both essential and non essential, minerals like zinc and a few vitamins, bread is starch rich and does not contain much else that is of use to your body.
When you decide on your diet it is important to consult a nutritionist or someone who is knowledgeable about diets, open questions on a website would not be the best route to go.
Question: How many calories should I eat considering the amount of calories that I burn? I currently weigh 170 pounds and am 5' 7'' tall. According to my resting metabolic rate, I should be eating 1558 calories per day. If I burn around 1000 calories a day, does this mean that I get to eat 2558 calories and still be able to lose weight?
Answer: If you want to loose weight you have to take in less calories than you put out..each pound is worth 3500 calories..deduct 500 calories each day of the week and @ the end of the week you will have lost 1#..doesn't sound like much, but look @ a # of butter..that's quite a lot.. so start with a 1800 calorie diet, if you gain or remain the same, drop it to 1500 calories. you did not put the weight on overnight, so therefore you need take it off slow..besides it is much healthier and will stay off easier if taken off slowly. You can do it..good luck.
Question: Do the calories in alcohol work the same way as regular calories? For example, say Bacardi 151. The stomach pretty much absorbs all the alcohol in a drink which means that it doesn't get digested as thoroughly as regular foods. My understanding of a calories the amount of energy that is contained in it and is measured by the amount of energy given off while burning it. So, does the body "burn" alcohol calories the same as regular bread calories.
Answer: Haha. Yeah they do.
That's why they're labeled the same.
Question: How many calories does your body need to function? Im on a calorie diet. And I want to burn as many calories as possible. But I realize that my body needs calories to fuction and get through the day. I just want to know how many calories I need.
Answer: 1500-2200, depending on your height
Question: What is the difference between calories from fat and calories from sugar? Calories from fat will make you fatter right? Is it better to eat calories from sugar than calories from fat if you want to get slimmer?
Also, does calories from sugar count as calories from carbs?
Answer: A calorie is a calorie is a calorie. The term "calorie" is a unit of measurement: One "calorie" is is the amount of energy required to raise the temperature of one kilogram of water by one degree Celsius.
Just like 1 degree Fahrenheit is a unit of measurement for temperature, so is a calorie a measurement for a unit of energy.
Therefore, your question is moot.

Question: How many calories should a 14 year old girl eat per day if that girl is on a diet? I'm 14 years old and i've been taking in about 1100 calories per day, and i've been at a standstill and havent lost any weight in a while. Do you think it is because im not eating enough calories? I heard somewhere that if you dont eat a certain amount of calories your body will store all the calories and wont burn anything.
Answer: absolutely so. I was on a high physical workout and 1200 calorie a day and i am a guy almost 6 foot tall 155 pounds. I wanted to lose a little fat all over the body. I did this for more than a month but hadnt seen any results. I gave up after i landed an injury and then for almost 2 weeks i had all the junk in the world, and didnt even bother about my diet. I didnt put on much weight either. Now i eat a healthy balanced diet, without counting calories, and enjoy a light workout... and see slow and steady results... so yea eat more and stay active.. thats my advice to anyone who wants to lose weight and get fit. and good luck!
Question: How many calories do I need every day excluding the amount of calories I burn in exercise? I searched on Google, but all the calorie calculators I found asked about how much exercise I get. I am 5'3", I weigh 95 pounds, and I am 13 years old. I know how many calories I burn per day, so that is why I want to know how many calories I actually NEED to have to maintain my weight.
In the calories that I burn every day, I am including calories that I burn when I sit, stand, sleep, etc.
Answer: To maintain your weight, eat as many calories as you're burning per day. To gain weight, eat more calories (but the GOOD kind! No twinkies or junk food. ;-) )
Question: How many calories a day should I consume while dieting? I am not breastfeeding anymore and I want to lose the last 7 pounds. My trainer says that I should be working out 6 days a week and eating 1300 calories a day. I am 5 foot 9 and 135 pounds. I was 125 pre-prego. I have a small frame. So, I am wondering if that sounds about right. Some days I am fine with the 1300 calories, but today I am starving and have already eaten 1200 calories, and I haven't even had dinner.
I am eating well and working out 5 days a week. I do 4 days of really intense cardio/weight training and then the 5th day I usually do something I like (walking, swimming, etc). Should I be consuming more or does 1300 calories sound about right? Is it normal to be more hungry one day than the other? Any advice would be appreciated!
Answer: For your height, weight, and personal conditions, i'd say that 1300 is too little. Please, do not eat any less than that. If you are hungry, EAT. otherwise your body will think you are starving it and store fats...which will make you appear to GAIN weight.
If you want to shave off pounds and make it LAST, eat 1500 to 1700 a day, excersize about 5 or 6 days a week for about a halfhour to an hour, and eat varieties of food with different nutrients. The truth is, it isnt how many calories you eat, but what KIND of calories you're consuming. If you eat 1300 of fattening cakes, cookies, ice cream, ect., it will be 100 times worse than if you eat 1300 calories of fruits, veggies, protien, ect. Each meal should consist of some GOOD fats (like olive oils, beans, ect.), carbohydrates (like wheat pasta, potatoes, yams, ect.), and protiens (chicken, turkey and fish are the best for you). Eat about 5 small meals a day, instead of 3 big ones. It will fasten the rate of your metabolism, causing you to lose more weight.
It may seem like this method is slow, but you will lose a pound a week or so, and it will STAY off. If you take it slow, eat HEALTHY, and excercise, you will see lasting results.
Question: How many calories should I eat with exercise and trying to lose weight? I have been trying to lose weight since April and have accomplished losing 30 lbs. I weigh 316 pounds and am 5'6" tall. I am eating 1500 calories per day. I walk 10000 steps, or 2 to 3 miles per day. Should I eat more than 1500 calories to be healthy? I have been getting hungry pains in my stomach and have also been very tired lately. I am wondering if I am not taking in enough calories because of the number of calories I am burning. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Answer: Firstly you can lose as much weight as you want in a short time period, however, you will gain it back. I am speaking from experience from someone who has been there done that with fad diets. There is the obvious liposuction, however, the recovery time is 3 – 6 months and it sounds as though that you’re in a rush to lose the weight for possibly an event with no downtime to spare. I am and have been on weight watchers for 2 years and lost 25 lbs. It was a slow and steady race, however, I haven’t gained the weight back ‘cause my diet has been stabilized and so was the weight loss from 0.5 – 1 lb/week.
Remember the weight gain didn’t happen overnight, it happened slowly over time, the same is with proper healthy weight loss, you can’t have/perform miracles over night.
These are some things that I do.
1.Drink lots of water as it kept me full longer.
2.Used an appetite suppressant like hoodie to make sure I don’t go over my daily calorie intake.
3.Did cardio and toning 3 – 4 times a week.
4.Made meal and recipe modifications as I cooked.
5.When I dined out, I made sure that I wasn’t shy about asking the kitchen to make modifications like dressing/sauce on the side, half portion ordered the kids meal etc.
6.Brushing teeth after every meal, the mint acts like an appetite suppressant and without the taste in your mouth, you can easily forget about the food.
7.Never drank diet cola, the aspartame actually made me crave food more for some reason.
8.At work I take a break before lunch and either take the stairs in the building or just general toning without weights. We have a gym at work so I do about 15 minutes of weights which not only gets my blood flowing but releases tension from a**hole customers.
9.Bought snacks in bulk (to save money) and properly measured what a cup or portion was and made individual baggies. There are some snacks on the market that are 100 calorie snacks, however, I find those to be too expensive than just buying in bulk and separating the portions yourself. Also by physically separating them yourself, you get an idea of what a portion is supposed to be and you learn to properly eye ball correct portions.
Question: How many calories should I be eating and/or burning if I want to lose 10-20 pounds in a month? I have been keeping track of my calorie in take for the past week, it has ranged from 1200- 1450.
I have also been keeping track of how many calories I have burned, which is anywhere from 100- 700 calories a day.
Now, I don't know what my goal should be for each day. As in how many calories I should be taking in, and how many I should be taking out.
Pls help!
Thanks!
Answer: You should burn at least 1200 to 1400 calories and it is best to do that through six small meals. Too little calories makes your body think it is starving and it will hold on to all of the fat plus more. Try to exercise at least 5 to 6 days per week and have one or two days off per week. Drink at leat 8 to 10 glasses of water each day.
