Chromium

Question: How to reduce cadmium and chromium in the body? Is there a way to get cadmium and chromium out of the human body, if excess levels are suspected?

Answer: First of all, consult your doctor with any questions regarding heavy metals poisoning and understand that I am not a doctor in any way. There is however something called chelation therapy that binds up the metals so they can be safely excreted by your body. Polydentate ligands such as EDTA can bind to many metal atoms and renders them essentially inactive in the body. I believe this is a common treatment for some heavy metals poisoning for both chronic and acute cases, but again I repeat: talk to your doctor before doing this, and if you need it, go to the ER.
