Coq10 Benefits
Question: If you take CoQ10, please share any noticeable benefits you've experienced?
Answer: Myself and my girlfriend and my mother all take it. I know of others who do too. It is very helpful for rebuilding cells in the body. We found some good information about it and ordered it from www.healthy-body-ingredients.com
All three of us have it shipped to us automatically every month. It is definately a benefit to our health. Check it out for yourself
Question: CoQ10, what are the benefits? I started running again, and I heard that CoQ10 is good for the heart. Anybody have any good suggestions for supplements as well as some advice why it's important for CoQ10 to help the heart. Oh, and I also heard that it's good for the skin.
Answer: Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) supports energy production in your cells. Studies show that as we age we have less and less of it in our body. It's especially important to heart health. The supplement I use and recommend is CoQHeart.
Question: what are the benefits of anti-aging capsules (coQ10 red) ??? help me plzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
Answer: cq10 is a "B" vitamin that is often in short supply. It is very helpful in maintaining heart strength.
Question: Resources with benefits of alternative, complementary, and nutraceutical healing with chemotherapy and cancer? Looking for some websites / articles etc - that provide good information on the benefits of alternative or complementary medicine for those with cancer AND/OR those undergoing chemotherapy.
Glutathione enhancement, curcumin, COQ10 - etc.
Answer: Make sure your doctor knows everything you are taking in case an alternative interferes with treatment.
Question: CoQ10 dosing and BP q's? CoQ10 may help decrease BP ("small" - mayo clinic). I tried 400 mg/day with minor changes to diet/exercise. For several months BP seemed solid at 120/80 taken a few times during the time. That dosage is expensive to maintain, but I happened to believe the thing helps. Couldn't find data on effectiveness (or possible) of dosing. Does anyone have any? basically, at which point does small (or large) doses outweight the potential benefits?
thanks for the info. hawthorn seems much more affordable. will also look into continuing with smaller doses of coq10 based on iherb info.
Answer: i take CoQ10 and have for 10 years now. I am not sure that this nutrient would be my first choice for HBP. Though Q10 aids the circulation it is primarily used to treat Congestive Heart Failure. It is a source material for the mitochondria within the cells to make energy (like a sparkplug to an engine). Do more research. The herb Hawthorne is more specific to lowering the pressure. Go to iherb.com or vitacost.com and go to the reference libraries links and read about natural treatments for pressure.
Question: has anyone tried CoQ10? have you noticed any benefits or had any side effects? what's a good brand?
Answer: Your body makes it, but less as you age. Brands seem about the same to me. I use 50-100 mg twice a day. My doctor said more than that is a waste, no studies show additional benefit.
Question: Is there such a thing as a Supplement addict? Ok so a while back a doctor recommended I take Centrum Cardio to help lower my bad cholesterol which is and always has been high. After that, I heard from many sources Omega 3 is a great thing to take daily for many reasons. A few years later I was online and heard about something called CoQ10 which has a TON of health benefits. I really do feel a difference taking all 3 everyday now. Since then, I started thinking of other things that are not-so-good about me and seeing what selection of supplements there are. I'm getting lasik surgery on my eyes soon (average vision correction needs 2-3, I'm told mine is a 9 in one eye and a 10 in the other) but if my vision changes, the lasik won't help anymore. So I found Lutein which has been proven to help stabilize your vision. Last but not least, I work at a law office and ever since I started there, I've felt everybody else can remember names faaaar better then me, like I have "brain fog". I just found research showing taking Neuro-PS has shown very good signs of helping with memory and overall brain health.
I know I eat junk food and with me working 76 hours a week, I don't have much choice in that. My question is, I just realized i'm taking like 5 pills a day and i'm only a 26 year old. Is this normal? I don't want to be a supplement addict if there is such a thing. I'm just looking for ways to better myself while working so many hours...
Oh, and none of my current pills are for weight loss. I'm at a good weight but I am getting a bit of a pot belly. I'd like to lose that too but I've heard most weight loss drugs are baaad for you. I've yet to see a "flatten only your stomach" drug so i'm ok in that area...
Answer: Yes, there is. It can be a psychological addiction.
Question: help me choose vitamin supplements? I'm 21, college student with overload school schedule, my bad eating habit is that I don't like veggie and milk. I'm considering some supplements but there are many kinds of them, I'm afraid that taking to many vitamins will harm my body.
for sure I will take:
Omega 3
Calcium, people said that it should come with Vit-D
the others I'm considering are:
multivitamins
balanced B
Vitamin A (working on computer a lot!)
potassium (my psy class taught me that we need K+ & Na+ for neurons 'firing' process, I don't like banana by the way)
melatonin 3mg (I'm high energy at night, trying to change my body clock, can naturally stay up until 6am if I don't want to sleep)
magnesium
zinc
Vit-C
Vit-E
folic acid with DHA
CoQ10
By the way, I'm currently moving from south to north, literally, from year round warm weather to a brutal winter place. Unfortunately, I have to take classes from a CC and my Uni which add up to 26 credits. Please give me advice on what supplements I should take that benefit me, keep myself physical and mentally healthy, especially for the cold days coming.
Thank you very much.
Answer: Yes, Omega-3 is a great option as long as it's good quality... Fish Oil is great for the health of the brain, skin, and cardiovascular system as long as you don't mind the taste. ;-) That already covers the DHA, so you can chalk that one off your list, too.
Calcium is essential for bone health, but you want to make sure you don't take more than 600 mg at any given point in time as the body can't absorb more than that at a time. It's also good to take that with the Vitamin D and Magnesium to help the absorption.
A multivitamin is a good idea, but most of the rest you list is already in there as well so you don't want to overdo it. If you take a good high-potency multiple, you can skip the Potassium (assuming it's in there), Zinc, Vitamins A and E, and Folic Acid... the C and B complex will vary depending on what's in the multiple and your personal needs. You don't want to take too much Zinc, A, or E as they can build up in your system if you take too much, plus you'll get plenty of A between the multiple and most food you eat (most naturally yellow foods have Beta Carotene in them, even fruits).
Melatonin is really helpful for resetting your sleep cycle, but I would recommend that you not take it for more than a month unless you're still having trouble sleeping. It's not that you can get addicted to it, but your body can get used to it and can cause problems with stopping it when people take it long-term. I'd also recommend avoiding any caffeine, sugar, or exercise within 2-3 hours before "bed time" to make sure that's not keeping you up. ;-)
CoQ10 is very good for heart health, cellular energy production (so don't take it at night), healthy oral tissues, immune system, and it's even a good antioxidant. It's rare for people in their 20s to need it, so the cost may not justify the benefits for you depending on your situation, but it wouldn't hurt.
As far as moving to the north, I've lived in MN and ND for all of my life and it can get really cold (duh). You get used to it, but make sure you buy a good jacket in the area you're moving to and make sure you buy long-johns for those really cold ones. I say to buy it in that area because the "winter jackets" in the south are like fall/spring jackets in the farther north. ;-) Good luck with school and the move and I hope I was able to help!
Question: I am a 54 yr old female about 100 lbs overweight. Been dealing with BP issues for the past 2 yrs. I am on 2 BP? meds. Underwent a heart cath back in Oct, Had 30% blockage in 2 places in main artery. Not enough for stenting so I have been trying to eat right and and need to get on a reg exercise regime but am not having much luck. I have back, shoulder and leg pain prob. I have managed to get my cholesterol within normal range but now am having Trig problems ranging about 320. Dr added a med to my Lipitor...but it makes my mind very foggy so I quit. I have a treadmill and for the past 3 days I have been walking 10 min at a time in the morning and the evening. I intend to build that time up as I can. Someone told me I was wasting my time at 10 minutes.....does anyone have knowledge of how long...what benefit etcetc....what I need to know about walking? I really am trying to get myself under control. Just the eating healthy alone has helped me drop almost 30 lbs since November....but I'm just exhausted all the time. No energy at all. Could sleep all day if I wanted to. I'm thinking this may be meds. I take 50mg Lopressor & 300mg Tekturna for my BP...10mg Lipitor once a day,, 7.5 Lorcet twice a day, one aspirin, 2 omega 3, 2 CoQ10,..any suggestions would be very helpful. Thank You so much.
Answer: The right way to lose weight is eating healthy and exercise. You are probably tired because your body does not get all the necessary ingredients: vitamins, minerals, proteins, fibers. . Q10 is excellent. The omega 3 you take is great - I would suggest you should take min. 1000mg a day. And increase your cardio exercise to a min. 30 min. 5 days a week. I lost 40 pounds in 3 months having a personalized program. My husband is 65 years old. He had an heart attack 8 years ago and have 4 bypasses. He also had a personalized program and he looks and feels great. He is doing every day min. 30 minutes of cardio and many weight lifts. He also helps others like me to lose weight and maintain healthy heart.
Success
Question: If you take CoQ10, please share any noticeable benefits you've experienced?
Answer: OMG...This is a true story and ever since this day I have taken CoQ10...A year or two ago I went to a pharmacy to fill a prescription (in fact, I will even tell you the pharmacy, it was the Schnucks in horn lake, MS), and I asked the pharmacist if there was anything over the counter that would be as effective...He looked to be about twenty five years old and I thought he was hitting on me a little. We got to talking and he started telling me about this supplement called Coenzyme 10. He said he has been taking it for a long time and it is like a miracle supplement. I didn't believe it could be *that* great, but he said "Well, just look at me. I am fifty years old." Of course I flipped out and could not believe that this guy was fifty. Then he pulled out his driver license and he wasn't kidding. He really was fifty years old and didn't look a day over twenty five, or thirty at the MOST. Amazing.
I find that if I take it at night I am able to wake up with a clearer head and a better mood.
